I guess Micheal Clayton will get to play more this year.Clayton is a free agent.
And it's Cato, not Kato.
I have a feeling we'll be aggressive in either free agent or the draft. A lot of holes now.
Sad to see Brooks get cut and not retire :(

Brooks, Dunn, and Galloway are all dinosaurs. I'm not saying they are completely done playing good football, but it's time for the team to move on. Some of those guys make way too much money for what they're contributing on the field at this point.
As a fan, it's real hard to see longtime stars and "face of the franchise" guys go, but it's a smart move for the future of the team.

Well they still can resign them at a lower price can't they? If not its very sad to see Brooks go.

Never too early to bust on someone else for their spelling, though, is it? ;)Just something I have always done. I guess it's a pet peeve of mine when people spell a players name wrong. It was horrible when the Bucs first drafted Barrett Ruud, people did not know how to spell his name.

Actually 4 years ago it was decent talent. Cato , Galloway and Hilliard are done. Brooks and Dunn could still be serviceable tallent someplace though. :(

By cutting these players, the Bucs made cap room. I just read the Bucs are now $65 million under the cap. THAT IS INSANE!
EDIT:
The cuts save the Buccaneers at least $9.5 million towards the salary cap. Tampa Bay saves at least $3 million in cutting Brooks, $2.5 million with the release of Dunn, $2 million with cutting Galloway, $1 million with the release of Hilliard, and another $1 million with the departure of June.
Tampa Bay is now about $65 million under the league-mandated salary cap heading into free agency, which begins at midnight on Feb. 27.

Yeah, just what they needed.. MORE room under the cap that they won't use. Maybe they are thinking of using some of that for a run at Cassell.

I love and have much respect for Derrick Brooks. I wish him well. I hope that a great team picks him because he is a great player and has a lot to offer in terms of leadership. He would be great on the Colts or somewhere they play Tampa 2.

Exactly. Who is even out there that they realistically either want or have a good shot to sign? I think this is more about trying to move into the future than it is about making room for free agents this year. Good move, though, I think.

Jim Bates likes big DTs and he is the biggest one out there.
And also, the person that didn't like spending was Bruce Allen, and he's gone. Interesting to see what will happen with Dominik being GM.

He is also overpriced and a slacker. Brooks might be able to keep him in line though. :)

I'm really torn as to if I want to see Brooks in another uniform. I know he still has some game left and will be getting some calls very soon but it will just suck to see him play for another team. I was bummed when Sapp and Lynch were dumped but this one really stings.

LOL! I always have you to rely on to make me laugh when I read sad news.
Truthfully the only one I will miss is Derrick Brooks. He will always be a Buc, he should just retire.
Joey Galloway was very good for us. But is really old(in FB years.)
Hilliard, June and Dunn I couldnt care less about. I never wanted us to sign Dunn again anyways.
This should make FA and the draft quite fun for us Bucs fan.
