My collection has been boxed for over 2 years and I now live in a situation where I have zero space to display my collection.
Its kind of crazy when I think of all the time I spent hitting up walmart at midnight trying to find some hard to find figure. and If i was bring any figure out of the box it would be at most 1-2 figures out of my 45+
So what should I do?
I could find myself in a house in the next 2 years but I dont know if my figure collection would be something I would be interested in.
Should I sell or should I keep them?
Have you ever regretted losing your collection?

You could always buy most things back and usually people who sell their collection feel much better afterwards.
So I'd say if you are thinking about it then just do it.

Its a phase we all go through at some point. I "quit" collecting sometime during the middle of 2006, and throughout all of 2007, only to start off again in early 2008. I never got rid of my stuff, I just kept it all boxed up, as I had nowhere to display it. Things would be different if you still actively displayed your collection, because you most likely would maintain in interest in them. I know that has been the case with me. I'm moving soon, and I still won't be able to display my collection, but I plan to continue collecting.

Agreed. I can see how someone might feel refreshed after getting rid of their stuff. Who knows, it might reinvigorate your interests in collecting.

I sometimes get the feeling I want to sell most if not all of my stuff from time to time. I dunno about quitting collecting all together, but the thoughts do spin around I guess. Mostly the feeling comes just from being frustrated with my current living situation more than anything I think. Though, really, it probably wouldn't hurt to thin the collection down a bit...

I'm trying to get rid of a lot of my Halo stuff right now on the BST (shameless plug). I'm keeping the stuff I really like and dumping the rest. Right now I'm trying to buy all the "cool" parts for my new gun so I need the cash.

This conversation comes up more than Halo threads and it's always the same answer:
Do what YOU feel is right.
I have sold off a vast majority of my collection and only held onto the pieces that either mean something(nostalgia, or favorite sculpt or character) or might be rare. Not because I want to sell them, but because rare pieces mean more to me.
I used to walk down the action figure aisle and pluck a few things off the pegs, every time. Now I walk down and only occasionally actually stop and rifle through the pegs, not buying anything.
I came to realize that these things we cherish are things. I have two HUGE tubs of Venom figures MOC and MIB from the early 90s on that are just sitting in the basement. I tried to sell them, but nobody wanted to pay for a whole lot. So now they sit.....unappreciated, but yet I can't just give them away....
Nobody can decide for you, the hunt I think is more than the actual toy sometimes....

I have thought about selling off my collection, but never went through with it. Right now I really don't have much room left for anything so maybe selling some stuff would be a good idea.

ive never thought about selling my collection but i also dont wildy buy stupid amounts the same thing to keep packaged. nor do i buy something just cuz its rare or the in fad.
i like my collection too much. its too cool to me to just ditch. i belive some people just have ****ty, junky collections that they dont care about. when the items are no longer cool they want to ditch it.

A few years ago I sold every single piece in my collection with the exception of Sideshow's "The Dead" line, which are actually going to be up on ebay in the next few months.
Since then I've got a couple things but no where near what I used to have.

Yep, I crossed that point too. Sold all my figures and my attakus SW statues, alien statues, everything.
I've got 3 figures now. Only the ones I wanted as a kid.
I do have a few Autoart 1:18 race cars left.

My collection was gone last summer. I only have a few diecast airplanes. Honestly, it just felt like a lot of useless junk sitting around.

I'm sad that McFarlane is... well, we all know what is happening with TMP, but I don't feel like getting rid of all those awesome piceces of artcraft (spawn, mm, monsters, dragons, etc.).
However, I really feel like selling some of the other stuff (SW, TFs, etc...)...

I ocasionally go through dry spells where I don't get on the forums and don't really touch my figures, but I always come back to them, thank goodness. I have never sold any of my stuff, and I hope that day never comes.

This is why I try to limit myself to Halo Spartans only. BUT I did get bitten by the DCU bug, bought a series of them. Now I regret it. I sold 3 boxes of old collection stuff (150 figs, mainly Spawn Series 1-10 and Spiderman figs) to CharlieMurphy. I don't want to be in that situation again in 5 years. When Joyride's Halo figs came out I always kicked myself for not buying all the Spartans. I would see collection pics and thought they looked amazing. Well, I have that now and I'm totally satisfied. Hopefully that feeling remains....

only sell em if you need the money. if you dont then keep em. you can always sell them later, but you cant unsell them

I've kept everything...

but then again I don't have a lot.
My old toys were given away to Goodwill.

I'd sell with no regrets, but everything's loose and not in the best shape, so selling would be difficult.
I'd sell pretty much anything in my collection right now if I knew I could accumulate some good money out of it. The money's more important than the toys at this point. Same goes for my comics.

I thought about it countless times with certain parts of my collection, and many times I've sold off huge chunks of my collection, but I've always come back and wanted certain pieces again.
The money you get for selling is awesome too.:p
