Simple question. Who here buys to complete a set, and who here buys the odd piece?

Never have been a completist, probably never will. My tastes vary.

I'm no longer a completest, I usually buy a mix of different things.

Depends. Things like Halo, Gears of War, or Mighty Muggs I have to have the entire set. But other things I don't, like Spawn or Marvel Select.

Only when it comes to Gundam figures do I feel the need to TAKE them all. But not with ML or DCUC, or even Star Wars.

Not really anything anymore.

Completist.

In fact, I buy 2 of everything. 1 MOC & 1 Loose.

I'm a "casual" collector I suppose. I've never bought a full set of anything, too expensive. Plus, there's usually at least a few figures I don't like in a set. So I only buy what I like.

I'm a completist when it comes to certain things, but not with toys or comics.

I'm just a casual buyer now was a person that had to get the whole sets of whatever I was collecting. I can say that TMP changed that with all of the changes last year.

I said Mix, because I bought full sets for some lines but for other lines I pick one or two.

I am an absolute completist. I miss out on a lot of good toys because of it. I haven't bought one single Halo figure. I know that if I buy one, I'll want them all.

MysticAirBender

a mix of both depending on my interest in the line.

Casual- if something looks like crap to me, i'll leave it sit there, no matter how hot or rare it is.

Toys: semi-completest

Even with my Spawn collection, which is probably my biggest toy collection,
I don't really care about stuff like sticker placement & minor color variations.........
stuff like that-
& there's always something I still need to pick up.

Monster toys: Most of the time I do buy full sets-
I don't want to go looking for something I passed on ten years from now-

Marvel, DC figures I'll just pick up one here one there.

With my book & music collections there are a few authors & musicians
I'm a big time complestest with &

Comics- I wish I was a completest!
If the title came out 1990 (or abouts) to now I'm complete with my (dozens) of favorites.

I have to have all the Spawn comics.

I want to have all the Spawn swag ever produced.

Toys, only get the odd piece that I like now days.

Harry Potter - completest (almost there!)
NHL - 1 version of every Maple Leaf player, plus other random figures I like
NBA - 1 version of every Raptor and 1 version of very LeBron
WWE - just getting back into it, but every Bret Hart plus other guys

I voted mix :o

Dragonstorm

Casual- I just buy what I like. I did buy every one of the McF Dragons but I liked them all- that's probably the only series sets where I have the whole sets.

Not a completist, but I do usually feel like I have to get other characters from a spefic line sometimes

Casual - I just buy what I like. I'm not going to buy something that I don't like just to say I have the whole set.

Basically casual nowadays. But if there is a whole set that I like, I will buy it.

Casual guy here. Just buy what I think is cool.

Mix. I'm committed to Sideshow's Star Wars line and pick up everything. Hot Toys figures are always a temptation so of course I always have to pick up a few of those. And I'm not committed to statues but I do enjoy picking one up now and then.

I'm a casual collector. I only buy a whole set if I like all the figures in it.

I am a little bit of both. There are certain times when I buy a complete set. Like with DC Universe for example.

I'm rarely ever a completist, unless there's only 1 series of something I really like, then I'd buy the entire series.

Depends. Things like Halo, Gears of War, or Mighty Muggs I have to have the entire set. But other things I don't, like Spawn or Marvel Select.

Same with me.

I want everything Halo 5" line. But as for DCUC and ML I buy what I like, or in some cases, what I wouldn't mind having to get the BAF piece. And SW I just buy what looks cool, or what I like. I'll buy almost anything with a Lightsaber, and I want most of the bounty hunters, and I like most of the Clone Troopers they made. But I don't buy too many droids, or too many small time characters like Max Reebo or Lobot. I actually don't even have a Jabba the Hut figure, and I only have a couple Hans and a couple Leias. I don't see the point in buying the same person in a bunch of different outfits unless the outfits are really cool looking or really important, for SW anyway. They made WAYYY too many figures to try and collect them all for me.

I'm more on the completist end of the scale.
