If Team Japan wins the WBC again, and Yu Darvish continues to excel, TMP should super short print a figure of him in this uniform, as part of a series or even a Collector's Club Exclusive. They could even hang on to a good number as they obviously have with other figures in the past (ie Bruins Bourque, Red Sox Clemens, Mariners Griffey Jr.), to sell once he becomes a mega-star with either the Red Sox, Yankees, or Dodgers. The odds on this happening at some point in the foreseeable future are almost 90% I figure, so it would be a perfect gamble and a great way to make some extra cash. Yu is a safer bet than just about every prospect and every non-major leaguer this side of Stephen Strasburg.

The only way I can see a WBC figure bringing enough interest to justify making it would be a special insert if the US wins. If they haven't done a WBC Ichiro or Matsuzaka yet there's no way Yu Darvish will get one when he comes over here.

You mean, you don't want them to just send them to the Glendale store to help with sales?:)

Who? And what's this "WBC" you refer to?

I'm guessing WBC figures would require a totally different liscence than since it's not run by MLB .

For Raven " WBC = World Baseball Classic "

Those figures had been out for five years, where as this would be a new figure, so it's slightly different. :) (Though a Glendale exclusive would be very similar to Super Bowl or Fanfest exclusives. Just saying.)

I think we will sooner see WBC repaints of Jeter, Youkilis, and Wright before we see anything "International."

It was either Ben or Mark that said they can use the WBC jerseys. But I'm sure they could only use players in the MLBPA or they'd have to get the players licensing.

I know what the WBC is, I keep forgetting that sarcasm doesn't translate well in print. I'll put it a different way, the WBC is about as exciting as the All-Star game IMHO, WBC figures would bomb big time.

I was just thinking the other night about how just personally I'd never want to see them make WBC figures and I'd have zero interest.
