I've seen both the Giants and the Bruins this season, and the Giants are unreal, the only thing they lack is that real toughness they had in 2007 when they won the Memorial Cup.

Usually I attend all the Brandon Wheat Kings playoff games with my dad. But this year I had been travelling during the first round. I did attend one Hitmen/Oil Kings game last round and will be going to another Hitmen game either Friday or Sunday. Hoping to see Tri Citys and Brandon do well. Lots of guys I played with and against playing in the Dub now, including Chet Pickard. Too bad Winnipeg didn't have a WHL team.

Red Deer Rebels. ::sigh:: no playoffs here.
have had season tickets the last 4 years, but giving them up this year. Hockey games aren't worth going to when my wife and I have to be Mom and Dad most of the game. a 2 year old a soon-to-be-newborn just aren't interested in watching games!! Although we'll still go to the occasional game...just not ALL of them.

Got to see a Hitmen game, and a Oil Kings game during a trip to Alberta in October. I wish my city (Nanaimo, BC) had a WHL team, they will soon.

I have not made it to any games in a couple of years, which is a real shame, because Belleville has been one of the best teams in the country the last three seasons.

When I was younger I use to go to the Niagara Falls Thunder games, then they moved to Erie, but I try to go to like a game a year there. It is great hockey. There were rumors that they were going to move a team to Buffalo. If they ever did that I would be right there getting season tickets.

I made the trip in stages. Most of the time it was my roommate and I. We started of driving to Prince George (all trips start in Calgary). They beat Seattle.
Next we took a quick trip to Red Deer. Its only about an hour away so we just came back.
First time in Saskatchewan, we went to Swift Current and Regina. SC has a neat little arena. Regina is old and cold. The seats are large and comfy though!
Next was a big trip to BC where we saw three games in three days. Kelowna, Chilliwak and Kamloops. It was a fun drive through the snow fog. Variable speeds of 40-120km/hr depending on what part of the mountains you were driving through. Chilliwak fans were the best maybe in the whole league. A building 3/4 full and it was loud! Great, great crowd. Kelowna was the opposite. Boring, stuffy crowd. I caught a puck that game and gave it too a kid. He didn't even say thanks, but his parents were impressed that he got a puck.
We now wet to Cranbrook {Kootney Sucks :) } where the Hitmen won a tough game. Next first time to the US where we met the craziest crowd I'd ever seen. Spokane fans are nuts. They wanted blood. They actually lost this game against Tri-city because a dumb fan through a can of coke on the ice.
Tri-City was next. I felt like I was in Canada. These were very nice people. I even educated them about how face-offs work.
We landed in Moose Jaw next because my mom was visiting and wanted to see Saskatchewan.
After taking December off, we went to Northern, frozen, Saskatchewan for games in Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Man....it was COLD!!!!!
We then did the two other Alberta teams, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. Just up and back the same day. In Lethbridge we met Kyle Beach and got his auto. Medicine hat we almost didn't get too because we did not bye our tickets ahead of time. They had exactly two left in the whole stadium.
Our first flight was into Abbotsford where we drove to Portland, Everett and Seattle.
We couldn't fit them in any better, so we went to Brandon where my cousin lives. Very neat arena. Lots of restaurants and such in the same complex.
Our Second flight was to Vancouver where we stayed with my cousin. Also caught a Canucks game and met Mathias Ohlund.
Last game was in Edmonton where the Oil Kings beat Lethbridge.
For anyone that followed this whole article, we saw the Hitmen a bunch of times, including the Teddy beat toss.
The whole trip was great. If I didn't think my girlfriend would leave me, I would do it all over again in a minute. Don't ask me how much it cost. The cost didn't matter. We drove the whole way except the flights. My poor truck. I wanted to see Western Canada (I'm from Nova Scotia) and this was an awesome way to do it.
Any questions, just ask.
