Barbie is the only action figure that I can think has remained and evolved in decades....
GI Joe started like a big figure and then suffered from......shrinkage

Little plastic Army men have been around longest. Whether or not they're "action figures" is up for debate.

They'd smack the taste out of your mouth if they heard you say that.

Forget that is for girls.....
Tell me of a kid action figure that is still alive since the 60´s.....
And is still the same size.....

Not barbies, they're dolls.

Not barbies, they're dolls.
But then, figures from Sideshow, for example, are also dolls......
If we go back.....Big Jim was an action figure.......but then Ken is a doll because it´s for girls ?

GI Joe came out 5(?) years after Barbie & (rather then) be called a doll for boys
Hasbro started up the term 'action figure'-
& most all the action figures back then (GI Joe, Best Of the West, Noble Knights, Captain Action)
were 12"ers-
(&) yup-
Barbie's the only line that's been chugging along since she first showed up in '59-

Yes most 1/6 toys are dolls, even action figures are dolls for the most part.

Action figures are dolls. Get over it.

Hmmm........Barbie........chugging........
Not two words that I normally expect to see in the same sentence, but they've put out some weird Barbie's over the years, so I suppose "Drunken Party Girl Barbie" might be somewhere down the road. :D

I'd rather include dolls with action figures than action figures with dolls. Hell, My Little Pony alone could give Batman a run for his money when it comes to goofy repaints.
Does Barbie win? If we're talking about how unchanged it's been over a number of decades, then yes. Plus, it's a pretty simple toy and there's not much that needs to be changed.

Of couse Barbies are on the top. Cut her hair short and add a earing to Ken and you can resell that **** over and over.
Barbie's have more articulation than most McFarlane stuff right now.
