I'm not tooting the horn of the Tigers, but it's May and people are blowing their little streak WAY out of perspective.
I'm willing to bet they fall to at least 3rd in their division within 2 weeks from today.
When Lackey gets back to form, and Vlad The Producer comes back, they'll be dropping like an A-bomb.

What's wrong with someone getting excited about their favourite team doing well?

Never said there was anything wrong with that.
And what's wrong with a little trash-talking? Sports would be boring without it.

And thats why theres a RANGERS thread, an ANGELS thread, and even the "Rangers hottest team in ball" thread. Quit wasting space.

Geesh, a little sensitive?
Nope, theres just no reason to dedicate a thread to your prediction for the remainder of the Texas Rangers season.

Actually, you contradicted yourself. If I go and checkout the thread about the Texas rangers "hottest team in baseball," am I going to find you saying, "no need for another thread, there's already a Texas Rangers season thread?"
Just calling a spade a spade. Practice what you preach.

Touche.
But that was a factual thread discussing the Rangers 7 straight wins. This is your predictions, which fit much better in the pre-existing thread regarding the Rangers not-so-current win streak.

Someones bitter that within a years time the division will be the Rangers for 5+ years....

Someones bitter that their team just got shutout by Chris Jakubauskas, a guy who had an ERA over 7 entering the day.
I would be more willing to agree with the original poster if the Angels were actually a good team. Sadly, I don't think anyone in the AL West is really all that good. Even Lackey's never really impressed me on the Angels...I think the Rangers spanked him last year with something like 15 hits if I'm not mistaken. He probably felt like a pinata after that game. Vlad's not so scary anymore now that he's celebrated his 42nd birthday. His .886 OPS last year, while still pretty good, tells me he's on the decline.

One week later...back up to a 4 game lead. I don't see them falling to 3rd in a week.

Texas needs better pitching and for The Hamm to come around and start producing like last year.
but overall, they are awesome! about time.
maybe it was the new Red uniforms. :)
Texas 27 18 .600 -
LA 23 22 .511 4.0
Seattle 21 26 .447 7.0
Oakland 18 25 .419 8.0
3rd place my arse.

this cracks me up...the rangers have sucked pretty much all but 3 years of their existence, but now people all of a sudden feel the need to bash them and knock the rangers fans of the board. sriously...it's like picking on clippers fans here people. if LA is as good as everyone seems to think they are then they will probably win the division, but i guaran-****ing-tee you that nobody was even considering the rangers to be a potential threat at any point of this season before the season started. we've had very little to celebrate in arlington for the past few decades so i'm just going to enjoy this while it lasts, no matter if it's 5 weeks or 5 years.

Texas has the offense and they have a very young team. i think they could dominate the league for a couple of years with their offense, but but their pitching staff may be their Achille's heel.

I agree, a long time Ranger fan here Way back to the Odibe McDowell, Ruben Sierra, Charlie Hough days I have wanted a pennant or a WS Championship. When they won their first div title in 96 and I went to MLB playoff games for the first time I was so excited that when they lost to the Yankees i wasn't too down. The Rangers deserve praise when doing well just as the Angels. Red Sox or KC Royals as of late. Either they will finish in first place or last, if you are not first you are last as quoted by Ricky bobby in Talladega Nights.
