New Halo Game announced at E3.

Nice to hear; despite the jaded nature of some boardies concerning Halo, it's a very stylish and unique franchise.

Left 4 Dead 2 was announced as well. Now if only TMP would make toys of THAT to go with the Halo toys... :p

Oh mah god...WOOOHOOO! I was just hoping for some ODST stuff, but man...a new game...thats just awesome. Plus I love the sound of it, the Halo expanded universe is great.

John (Master Chief) isn't part of the the larger group of Spartans that that actually go down to defend Reach. He, and two other Spartans launch an assault on a space station in orbit to get the NAV data out of a ship docked there so the Covenant do not acquire it. As John, makes it back to the Pillar of Autumn, contact with the ground team is lost, and the planet starts getting glassed by the Covenant. The Pillar of Autumn makes a partially blind slipspace jump....

Depending on what they do, I can see John making a cameo appearance, but I would think the character you play as is part of the ground team (most likely Fred, who is made leader of Red Team for this mission). And depending on how far they go, John does make it back to Reach inbetween Halo and Halo 2. They could save that portion of First Strike for a second prequel-sequel.

I see 4 Spartans and a human... most likely for the Co-op campaign.. I think it's awesome they're using the books.. can't wait to see where this goes...

Seeing final images of the ODST squad in the game makes me eager for "The Rookie" in series 6. I hope that somewhere down the road we will see an exclusive set w/the entire squad, similar to the GoW one.

Oh yea that's right. He wasn't on the ground team when the Covenant attacked Reach.

I'm still on the second book when Master Chief rescuing someone in the ship (forgot the name MC's rescuing).

I hope that when it says that by pre ordering the game you unlock sergeant Johnson for Firefight(For those of you who havent seen it, its like Horde from GoW. For those of you who dont know about THAT, its a mode where you fight waves of enemies to gain points) that it means the other ODSTs will be unlockable for that mode as well. Romeo looks pretty badass.

Since you can see them in the screens, seems pretty likely you can use all the ODSTs in that mode :P

People don't see Halo as the Universe that it actually is. Halo is one of those stories that can just keep going. And if it keeps bringing Bungie money,... Why the hell would they stop making them?

The campaign was quite short. Great story but still really quick play through. Firefight will be a welcome addition and help replay value. I have not yet played multi so I can't speak on it. Side note: Interesting that they barely show V.I.S.R. mode in the trailer.
