OT: Theft!!!!

I was just recently informed by my freight agent of a very very bad news :( The cargo truck that has my stuff for delivery here has been stolen :mad::( And out of the 385 boxes that was inside the truck all but 185 was left. My stuff and my gf's stuff are there :(:(:(:( Around $400 worth of stuff gone :( There is only insurance for $200. All the good hauls are there :(:( Stuff from you boardies are there :(:(:( This really has me shocked and very sad right now :(:(:(

Long Beach CA. The cargo went missing for 3 days until it was found with more that half of the boxes gone :(

They did. But there is an optional $5 for every $100 insured. They just told that now :confused: or maybe it was in the fine print of the contract :confused:. I feel very bad I had a lot of good deals in there all I got here from the board. Gf is very sad. She has a gift from her mother there. So unlucky that our box is a part of that cargo :( If only it was a day later. But **** happens :( I hope those evil people get what they deserve :mad:

The mail really did not have deep details. Its a freight service truck. It works like a pile of loot for bbts but in this case its not just toys. Here's the summary:

May 30 - Freight Container (Real BIG) picked up by Trucking service in Eagle Rock CA to be delivered to Long Beach CA (where they will load the container to a ship for delivery here in the Philippines)
June 1 - Truck service reports to freight service that the container was lost
June 4 - Truck and container where found abandoned somewhere in Long Beach

Im still waiting for the email reply of my freight agent about the develelopment of the situation :(

Here's what I got (edited names)

Dear Sir/Mam;
On May 30, 2009 Saturday, our container shipment, one x 45’ with was picked up by the Trucking Company from our office located at Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles, CA for delivery to Port of Long Beach, CA for shipment to our Philippine Office

On the afternoon of June 1, Monday, we were informed by the Trucking company that they cannot locate our container. Upon checking with, it showed that the container was not boarded on the vessel. We called the Trucking company and were informed that the said container was stolen.

A Police Report and Report of Stolen Container were given to us by the trucking co. on June 4, 2009
.
Also in the afternoon of June 4, 2009, the trucking company informed us that the tractor and the container was found abandoned by Long Beach Police Department along Alameda and 90th Street in Long Beach, CA in the night of June 3, 2009.

I dont like to buy stolen stuff :p And yes maybe they will be on ebay :eek: The monetary thing is just a secondary thing for me right now. What sucks for me to think is that those %^&$%^## pulled something like this and it does not affect just me but a whole LOT of people :mad:

no man, that's my estimate on my stuff on my 1 box and that does not include the shipping. All the other boxes have different owners, all of those 200+ stolen. I have no idea what the other freight service customers have on their boxes. I roughly lost a total of $500. :(

This is a 45 ft. Container load ransacked almost entirely. Those are 6 cu. ft boxes inside. 210 boxes were taken :(

Got more info and it just makes me more upset. What happened was the cargo truck did not make the cut off time to the ship last May 30 at around 4:30 pm. The driver parked the container at Monterey Park CA (exact place not disclosed) . Why the heck did they pick up the container at that late the day :mad: and the driver should have just returned the cargo to LA for alot more security reasons :mad:

yeah :( Ill get a $200 insurance back so me and the gf's lost is around $300 :( What upsets us most is the fact lot of good deals are in that package :( Gf's has some Barbies there for her collection some rare one's to boot . I got lots of good deals from the boards too :( There's also supposed to be a gift for my niece who will be celebrating her bday this July :(

Thanks man. Yes its not just me. All the other people who lost their boxes are now feeling the same way. Their boxes contents could be alot more expensive than mine. We try just try to think positive that there has to be a reason for this and something else positive will happen :o
