When I got my first Detolf from Ikea about 4 years ago, I assembled it wrong and a shelf came crashing down and shattering. Now I'm reusing that Detolf for something else, and need another shelf. Does anyone know where I can find a glass shelf that looks kind of like a Detolf shelf?
I now it's a weird question, but I figured someone may have had the same problem. :)

Any glass shop sells safety/tempered glass. Just give them the size you need (measure your non broken shelf), and they should be able to fix you up in 10 minutes or so for $10 or less. Look in the yellow pages for a glass shop.
I don't think the big box hardware stores deal with safety glass, but it could be worth a try (I try and support indy businesses whenever I can).

Thanks mangs!! :)
I'm at work right now, and want to stop off at a glass shop after I get out. Would anyone be able to tell me what the measurements of a Detolf shelf? It's no big deal if no one knows, I can just measure when I get home.

A quick update.
I just called like 5 places in the area, and the cheapest person was $40.
I'm better off just buying a whole new Detolf for that price, lol. :p :)

If you buy another detolf at least you can put an 18" fig (if you have one) on one shelf which you wouldn't be able to do without taking out a shelf.

I just want to get the most out of my Detolf. I don't have any 18" figures and only have really one statue that is over 15" (Vega PF). I was near Ikea and stopped off hoping to find a shelf. I bought a Billy glass shelf for $5, but it's too small. It fit, but it's really dangerous and I don't think I'm going to keep it for too long.
Freaking Ikea raised the price of Detolfs to $80 (although they had floor models for $55). :(

Find a cheap picture from for $5 or so that is 12" X 15"... and take the glass out of it for the shelf... best to double up though as the glass will be thinner.
