Up here, it isn't that big. UConn is starting to draw more interest to it, but there really aren't any big teams here so it isn't as popular. I don't know how well that line will sell here....I have no intentions on buying any, either.

Yeah in the Northeast College sports in general isn't really a big deal. With New York being the size it is we have several smallish state school opposed to the large state schools in other states.

The Josh Hamilton made me stop buying all the MLB regulars. I just can't bring myself to purchase it with that helmet. So, I figured I needed to stop at some point and now's a good time for my wallet.

Been out the mode of having to have all the NBA & NFL Sp's for a good while now, and I can say that it's been the best thing for my overall collection.

If you are going to end your streak do it on the Wings Sawchuk. If they don't fix it it would by far be TMPs biggest disater, far worse than any packaging change.

I'm sure he did, but they weren't great sellers. Anything beyond the regular series was a pegwarmer, with the usual star or rookie exceptions. 2-packs, stadium stars, slam dunks, headliners, cooperstown, etc were all tough sells. Of course, the regular series had their pegwarmers as well (going to happen with such large sets, meaning more minor stars), and by the later years nearly EVERYTHING was a pegwarmer.

Not really, they were great sellers here and moved great at the conventions and shows as well. I cannot tell you how many pre-orders I had for 97 and 98 Hesiman and the 98 and 99 Wal-Mart College Classic Doubles flew off the shelves and still sell for a premium. Several of the 97-98 Hesiman figures were always popular and I still get e-mails for them on occasion. The hobby did change after 1997, but it was still extremely active and our sales numbers continued to increase until the very end, so much in fact that I needed a second KDA to handle all of the demand. I had more trouble selling "pegwarmers" in 93-95 than I did from 96 to 2001. I've found the perspective of those who were not active in the hobby in the later years is often out of line, the hobby had expanded to more general collectors and not just nit the group of SLU only collectors the hobby had in the earlier years.

Id be alot more excited about the college line if they werent the worst figures they had for Manning and Brady. Brady 1 or 2 and Manning 3 woulda made me alot happier..
Couldnt you just slap the Hines Ward head on a differant figure so I dont have 4 Hines Ward's in the same pose?
The Peterson and Lewis havent been done to death so I can live with them being repaints.
Im guessing the Russell will sit on the pegs just like his Raiders fig.
I just kinda felt with this being the first series of them they coulda put a little more effort into the series.

I'm hoping to find both LSU Russells from that series. I may get a Manning, but that's where I'll stop. I was never much of a college fan, at all.

Andy, the real question is, are you going to buy the Roethlisberger in S20 that's a straight re-release of the S18 version, saving the shoes? That figure will bring to an end my streak of every regular NFL fig. Just can't justify using the same figure twice ever, much less separated by just one series.

Just cannot get excited about the college line. Especially, since the player have been done before in Pro unis. Maybe because, I just don't get too excited about college football. My credit card will get a welcome break, along with my passing on the majority of this year's NFL Legends.

I still buy everything I like...If I don't like it, I don't buy it. But I do have to wait and have them in hand to know if I like it or not...can never tell from just pictures or stated lineup.

That's what I was thinking. You say you never know, but you can predict which way you'll sway should there be some swaying.

Wow, the college slus were always popular. I imagine you picked those up.
But they made figures of people who were actually good in college, not the NFL!! Not a lot of Heisman winners or National Champions in this "college" set! Sure some set some school records but when you think of the big names in college football over the last 25, 50, 100 years, how many of these come to mind? Even in their description they call them "pro football superstars"
