Once you get used to it, it's actually easier than Marvel vs Capcom. The features are different but the core gameplay is similar to SF 2: Defend or counter. If you keep attacking, more than likely, you're toast :D

hmm. i pwned MvC honestly. i defend non stop in this game, but the cpu deals too much more damage than you do. even on easy, it easily deals about 130% to my 100 (or less). i beat seth on medium using ryu on my first try in about 20 seconds. then, when i tried with guile, i could even come close after i won the first round....

Seth is hard, SFIV is not hard.
Guile is pretty terrible though.

idk. sometimes, the cpu spams moves that dodge all attacks and can only be blocked or countered. idk. the challenges are particularly easy....just arcade mode is tricky

Once you learn all the matchups, you will eventually learn what to do and what not to do. Like Fei Long for example, I used to have a lot of trouble against him because he would poke me to death and if one got through he would get the 3 hit combo. I had to figure out what moves interrupted that poke and then after that he was toast.
Abel, just throw him out of the roll.
Cammy, just throw her out of her spinning backfist.

abel is a doosh. i have to throw like nonstop on him. so ***. cammy is just tricky cuz she sweeps a lot and its kinda hard to tell where shes going at first. after some practice, the only thing im still havign trouble with is seths final "form" its kinda unblockable all the time and just too cheap. gill could be handled easily with a simple technique. unlike the first seth, the second one is like the finla boss on smash bros adventure on insane difficulty

If you are just trying to beat it, put it on one round. The only thing fighting Seth is good for is making yourself mad.
When he starts teleporting you have to use your block strings to get some distance on him. Also Seth focus's your moves, so you have to find 2 hit moves.
If you use M.Bison you can lame Seth out with repeated scissor kicks, he will focus the first hit and the second hit will connect and knock him down.
Fighting Seth is lame, I don't really enjoy it at all.

yeah i gotcha. one round idea is good. i mean, if im gonna have to continue anyway, why waste so much time plus it gives me a better chance against characters who noob cheap moves. if i set it to one round, will seths first form still be super easy?

I gave up fighting Seth in medium.
I was trying to get the achievement "Storied Reputation" (Clear Arcade Mode with all characters on Medium or higher difficulty) while trying to unlock all characters at the same time. After getting my ass kicked with Seth's cheap moves, I just gave up and just put the damn game to Very Easy to unlock everyone.

yeah im doing that now. can you unlock everyone with 1 round matches?

Yes, in one round matches he starts off with no meter, so he doesn't just start spamming EX moves.
You can beat Seth and everybody else besides Cammy on the hardest mode by using Zangief and just spam his lariat move.
Cammy will cannon spike you but everybody else will just walk up and take a lariat to the face repeatedly.

seth is always harder after the 1st match. Constant play against other players as well as the CPU will bring you up to speed. Give the training programs a try, I found those pretty helpful in improving my skills, combos and ultras.

Yes, you can unlock everyone with on round matches.
Akuma and Gouken have special requirements to unlock, but can still be done in one round matches.

I haven't touched arcade mode after I unlocked all the characters.
SFIV is lenient in comparison to the other games.
Yeap, I got raped straight up by a Sagat player. It was until this that I realized he toppled the rest of the cast.

I've always sucked at SF games so naturally, I thought this one was hard. I couldn't even get far on Medium it was ridiculous. I could BARELY beat it on Easy, after getting my ass beat by Seth like 20 times straight.

Same here, especially if you have no idea the moves for some of the characters.
I really hate Guile and Vega's moves. Very rare I do their dame special moves

Street Fighter 3 is my favorite, but IV does not suck, its the 2nd best Street Fighter game.
