Fourth of July MLB Caps

I know they wore these back on Memorial day too, but watching the Red Sox game last night, I really liked the red caps with the red alternates and today, the red with the white jerseys.

The Cubs and Brewers have both looked ridiculous the last two days with this hat. Z looked horrible in it all day. The Cubs usually wear the pinstripes at home unless Z pitches. I prefer the blue uniform on the road though. Both are very sharp. I would have supported the Cubs wearing the 4th of July hat if it was just a red, white, and blue "C" logo, but the red hat looks really goofy with our uniforms.

That would be cool. As odd as some of them look the concept has grown on me. I'll have to see if I can find last year's version for sale anywhere. If they do make a white cap next year it would make a neat display to have all three.

Yeah white would be kick butt and more appealing because it goes with most outfits where as Red really doesn't. I couldn't see myself wearing a red hat all the time but a white one most definitely.

You're right, its the same shade of red as the regular hats. Still had to get one though. But I wore my blue one from last year, today.

Some teams looked good, others were horrible. As was mentioned, the Brewers were especially bad, same with the Padres/Dodgers game last night. Both teams looked ridiculous with those red hats on.

I know it's all a marketing thing (isn't everything these days?) but I wish they would go back to just putting the flag patch on the side of the caps so some teams don't look horrible wearing them.

Or just take the normal team hat add the RW&B logo instead of the regular logo I think most folks would be satisfied with that.

when i turned the tv today to the rockies game tonight, i thought, "hey, why are they playing the nationals?" they weren't. they are playing the diamondbacks. but the red hats make them look more like the nationals with their recently changed color scheme

yeah back then they were only 18.95$ and had this nice New Era booklet attached to the hat. the quality was better too.

If enough people buy the reds, they'll try the whites thinking the same will buy them.

The Mets looks ridiculous, especially when playing in Philadelphia. I think it would be a lot better if teams wore their regular color with the red, white, and blue logo.

$37 for a hat is crazy.

It is very expensive, but I think the nw 59fifty hats have great value and will be cheaper in the long run. MLB has changed the style of hats they wear significantly this year. They are no longer made out of wool, but are 100% performance polyester. As a result the hats repel sweat and it does not soak into the material like the wool hats tended to do. They are also quite a bit sturdier and more durable. If you tend to sweat out in the heat like I do these hats are just great. I was use to going through 3-4 hats in a summer, but I'm still on my first one this year and it looks good as new.

Aren't proceeds from these hats going to charities? They're the same as the Memorial Day caps and those had proceeds going to charity. During the 162 game season, things like this are interesting and give people something to talk about, even if certain teams look bad, it's a decent promotion.

The red Yankee caps were pretty nice, especially with the swagger of Burnett.
