I just got off the phone with my nearest Gamestop and Electronics Boutique and they confirmed this sale. New copies for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC are now $19.99, the sale started today. If you haven't picked up a copy yet (like myself) then this is the time to do it.

Knowing Capcom and the way they like to toss out new versions of SF games, I'm betting that retailers are starting to blow copies of this game off the shelf and out of stock so they don't have leftovers collecting dust.

I predict Street Fighter 4 Turbo/Dash with all costumes, and new characters DeeJay and T-Hawk.

Man i just bought the game for 45$ 5 days ago... With the shipping at 14.99 and the $ rates i would only have saved about 6 bucks on this deal tho, so i guess i don't need to feel so bad.

Just picked up F.E.A.R. 2 and Wanted (hey, it was only $20). It's pretty funny that the used copies still ring up as $25 more than the brand new copies.

Stop being so lazy.

I have the game, I bought the Deluxe Editon or whatever. I almost willing to go buy this one for the price, if it has extra characters and outfits along with speed upgrades and anything else.

I think you misunderstand. It's being implied that it's on sale for 19.99 because there will most likely be a re-release a few months or so from now that has the characters and costumes included....and as such the company is trying to get rid of as much stock of the current version as possible so it's not left on the shelf to rot when the new on comes out.

Street Fighter 3 may have had the worst character designs of any Street Fighter.

The reason he predicted those 2 characters is because Capcom confirmed that T.Hawk and Dee Jay character models and movesets were already done and just didn't make it into the final game.

So does not change the fact the SF 3 has far superior characters. Sorry but I get sick of all the SF 2 love when 3 is a far superior game. I would take Axel over almost everyone on the SF 2 roster. SF 2 for has not aged well for me.

Street Fighter 3 did nothing special and that's why it wasn't received that well. I doubt we ever see most of those generic characters again. A guy in a speedo painted red and blue? A guy with one arm tied behind his back? A muscular guy with the straps of his overalls down? Another boxer? They could've just left Balrog in. A black guy that shoots basketballs at the enemies? I could go on and on.

We really waited that long for 3 only to get those lame designs?

Superior on what level? Certainly not the designs. They were as generic as possible.

That stupid parrying system won't be missed.

I'd like to see more Alpha characters than anything. I always found the Alpha games to be much more fun than SF2 or 3. I think SF3 had some cool characters, but none of them turned out to be as memorable or enjoyable as the cast from Alpha.

Fail again. The game did bad because the arcades were dying out. Plus in Japan I do think the game did just as awesome as 2 did. The characters played three times better than the broken Street Fighter 2 characters. Street Fighter 2 was a fun game for its time but it aged horribly. 3 took what Alpha was doing and perfected it. The game play is flawless. The Contolles are perfect. The Parrying System will be missed. I was at a big SF 4 Tournament not to long ago and that was the one thing people wanted in SF 4. Most of the SF forums I am on also agree that the Parrying system was the best thing to happen to 2d fighters. Also the best Street Fighter players in the world play 3. Some of the best tournaments I have ever seen have been for 3.

I would rather a game with superior game play like Street Fighter 3 has. Alpha 3 is a close 2nd. Hell I would rather play Street Fighter EX Plus than the horribly overrated Srteet Fighter 2. EX plus had some nutty looking characters.

The reason your whole argument fails is because it revolves around hardcore tournament players. Who cares what the tournaments fighters want? They make up less than 1% of the customers who will buy any given Street Fighter. The parrying system won't be missed by that other 99%. Most of which aren't on any forum.

The game didn't do bad because arcades were dying out. If that was the case, why was Soul Calibur doing so well? Oh, that's right, because it was a much better game. Street Fighter did poorly because people were expecting something amazing and, in true Capcom fashion, it wasn't that much different than what we had already been playing.

We get your point. You love Street Fighter 3. Too bad Capcom made the wise decision to abandon just about everything from that game so that the series could flourish.;)

Also the game he is referring to is SF3 Third Strike, which was the 3rd SF3 because the first 2 did horrible.

The tourney guys that like 3rd Strike are the ones that grew up with it and keep playing it because it is/was the last game. I don't like it better than the others because the parrying is lame, it defeats the purpose of ranged projectiles. Now the game is just a meter building turtlefest with 3 characters waiting for their hit confirm super.

The reason why you still Fail is because the 3D fighters were huge at the time (and still are). Thats why Soul Calibur did awesome, because it was the cool thing to play. At that time no one cared about 2D anymore. That and the fact that the arcades were dying is why the game did not do well. If that game came out two years after 2. The game would of been huge, but no it came out in 1999!! Hell we were never going to get Street Fighter 4 because they thought nobody wanted to play 2D anymore. Which for the most part was true in arcades. Games like Tekken and Soul Calibur were the big dogs at that time. Oh and before you mention Marvel Vs Capcom, the only reason why that game did good was because Marvel was apart of the game. You can praise Street Fighter 2 all you want, BUT THE FACT IS, Street Fighter 3 has better game play, better controlles, better graphics (graphics don't really matter but still) and one of the most balanced fighters ever. Yes the game did bad in america, but it still manages to be the best in the series. I do agree that some of the characters need to go like Dudley, and Q, but its not like Dee Jay or god horrible T. Hawk were any better.

good points, Unicorn! glad to see SF 3 getting some love. and lol at smbyfnkllme, the casdual players and sucky people at third strike are the ones like this guy trolling who talk bad about it.

SF 3 had the best character designs, most originality, and best gameplay PERIOD and stands the test of time and why it is the ONLY older SF game being played at SBO and still played and respected the most in the fighting game community.
noobs won't appreciate this masterpiece and expect them to say bad things about the game and characters since their precious guile, blanka, dhalsim, etc weren't there.

and SF 4 sucks horribly. its not even worth the 20 bucks and pretty much a ripoff.

Sorry, those character designs are garbage. Let me know when you start seeing them in other Street Fighter games. I'd bet my account that they won't be bringing back those designs.

Like I said, just because a few elitists on the internet love it, doesn't mean the other 90% + of players do. Otherwise, 4 would play like 3. Instead, they abandoned everything from 3 because it wasn't liked by most players.

Who cares what happens at tournaments? You and the other guy seem to think that's important. If it was so important, 4 would play like 3. Instead, Capcom decided they actually wanted to sell some copies of 4. Silly them.

Any argument consisting around tournament play really isn't worth responding to so this is the last time I'll do it. Get off the internet every once in a while and you'll find that most people didn't like 3.

It's hilarious how guys on the internet seem to think they're better than others because of a certain game they play.

LOL, I play in tourneys, arcades, and online ggpo all the time and I can tell you the SF 3 crowd is STRONG AS EVER. in fact, its the most requested game from players and most consider SF 4 to be pure garbage.

I think YOU need to play out of yuor home every once in awhile and go to some tourneys, etc. then you will see what REAL fighting gamers prefer. not some casual noob who wouldn't buy a sf game unless sakura or cammy is in it.

SF 3 had the best characters and completely underrated. arcades were dying at the time of SF 3 except for 3-d fighters (the next big thing at the time). and sf 3 series is definitely the most underrated fighting game of all time.

and its pretty obvious SF 3 characters are working there way in slowly. Oro, Ibuki, and Q will have back up stories coming up in Udon's comic series (also not to forget the sf 3 series will have its OWN comic book), Alex is in the new VS game, and Yun and yang appear in sf 4 while Dudley and Ibuki are hinted.

its super obvious the sf 3 characters arent as popular as the sf 2 characters. why? well, sf 3 had/has very little exposure to the masses whereas the sf 2 cast gets movies, comics, action figures, anime, etc ,etc. so yeah, they are going to be the most recognizable and the selling point right now for Capcom and sf 3 characters will work there way in slowly.

SF 4 is also a BEFORE sf 3, so again ,sf 3 characters will be worked in slowly. but yeah, SF 4 is garbage and SF 3 rules all.

you are very wrong, that does matter, and matters greatly. and when Capcom finally gets off their butts and gives SF 3 series a proper welcom on xbox arcade and playstation 3 arcade, you will see just how well it sells. until then, SF 3 is just a hard game to find and play, but what matters is that everywhere it is found, its played the hell out of.

As for the debate, I luv all 3 SF games, II, III and especially 4. I consider 4 the best of all 3, but I especially luv the graphics on the on 3, colorfully, bouncy smooth. I enjoy the extreme detail in 4, but I enjoy the colors of 3.
