Anyone surprised with the Legends 5 line up? I see lots of peg warmers are still left over from Series 4, I expect the same or worse dues to the time of year and the line up. LaFLEUR is a good choice but another Orr? We all knew there would be a Blues Gretzky. Not a big Hull fan but nice to see the old Jets Uni again.

I'm thinking the Roberto's will sell well at first and then drop like a Naslund. Naslund is going for $20. Of course we all really know who carried the team this year.
Oh, yes and Just a quick reminder I called a Vintage Roberto back in April and everyone said "Oh no Way"! Okay maybe Rick did but that was it. :P

Just thought I would throw this out to the boys in here. I have the signed Neely Bruins jersey I got from oilersRmylife up for sale, but need to unload it by the weekend! I am going to the Canucks equipment sale and want as much $$$ as I can get. So, I offer the jersey up for what I paid for it...$210 usd.....if it is to someone local and they will come to PoCo to pick it up I will drop it for $210cdn . It is signed on the number 8 on the back in silver sharpie, and inscribed with his career goal and assist totals. It comes with a COA and hologram from channelsports.
Hopefully someone wants this bad boy....I am just really in to collecting the game used stuff right now, so I thought I would offer it up!

I have a BLue Tucker up for grabs. I bought it to try and trade for the Luongo but ended up finding one at reatail.
I was going to take it back but thought maybe someone here would want it. It does have some slight scratching down the front, I'm assuming this occured when pulling it of out the box. I didn't notice it at the store (it is slight) but in certain light you can see it.
If anyone wants to trade for a retro Nasland (opened) that would be fantastic.

I just noticed that the ice rinks only have hole pegs in certain places.
Which means you can't place players anywhere you want.
Also can it accomodate figures that need 2 hole pegs (eg. Naslund, Phaneuf)
Can someone who has it, or seen it close up give us your pros and cons regarding the rink.

I do have a rink, but I haven't opened the hat trick Naslund to see how it fits. The base for Naslund has 2 holes about 2" apart. The rink does have hole spacing this far apart, more in the corners of the rink. However I don't know nicely it'll fit. There might be some wiggling required.

tiger tiger, what figures did you set up for display?
Did you put up some advertisements on the boards or did you leave it plain?
I am thinking about getting the rink but somehow I think I might be dissapointed.

Here's some pics. I haven't had time to do the research on the boards. For sure it would look a lot better with the ads and stuff.
There are a lot of guys that have done different things with the rinks. One guy split the rink into 3 sections and had each section on a different level on a bookshelf. So you'll have a behind the crease scene, a face off circle/slot scene, and a blue line/breakout scene.
I love my rink, and I'm thinking of getting another to do the bookshelf thing. The only problem is getting figures that match and are in correct poses.
I wish I knew how to do customs, I'd be all over that. Want to, but just don't have the time now.

Jovo leans -way- too far over but an easy fix for you figure gurus.

Langley had the "cotton" ones you are talking about, but they also had the nike jerseys that are going for $130 in Sportchek. yesterday, Langley had 1 black XXL left & Guildford had a 1/2 dozen of the red ones in various sizes. they don't have names and #'s but are the replica's of the ones they've been wearing the past couple years(more form fitting)

I noticed they had sportspicks there last night, mostly NHL 16 with a few cooperstown players. I didn;t know they sold them.

No problem! i basically got my 3 for less than the price of 1 at Sportchek. i think Team Canada might be switching to RBK like the NHL and that's why they're blowing them out. it was perfect timing because i got all my "old" style ones autographed, so i want to get them framed.

You do them for fun??? Interesting, being that I just saw that Ovechkin on Ebay.
As for those "morons" who rip your work apart, most of us/them are trying to help you become a better customizer. You have the ability to make great customs, but you take shortcuts, miss key details, and overall make lazy mistakes. Take a few minutes to put in the extra effort and make your good work great. And if not for that, don't your customers deserve something that is done right?

Its not a bad custom, its pretty solid, but its not without its errors.
The skates have been completly ignored, including the special guard Niedermayer wears over one of Nike Bauer One90's.
Niedermayer goes heavy duty on the shin guard tape, a detail that looks to have been omitted.
Its hard to tell from the blurry pictures, but the nameplate looks like the letters are far too close together. There should be some spacing there.
The sock stripes are incorrect as well. The gold stripe at the top should be the thickest stripe, not the white. The white stripe should only be about as thick as the black stripe right below it.
I cannot tell from the pictures, but the NHL shield on the back of the right leg may or may not be missing.
Did he get the RBK logo and Stanley Cup Finals logos on the sides of the hat? No pictures from the side, so I can't tell.
On the shoulder, the Stanley Cup finals patch should have a fairly heavy white outline, which is not apparent in the photos. Its hard to tell from these pictures, but the Captain's "C" looks to be a standard collegiate type font, and not the correct style used on the jersey.
Most of it is pretty nitpicky type stuff, but some of it really shouldn't have been excluded. The skates are very easy to find pictures of, so they easily could have been done. The skate guard would have required special sculpting, so I can see why that may have been excluded. The shin guard tape isn't a big deal. The sock stripes really kill me, it was an easy detail to get correct. The rest of the stuff is all maybe's, its too hard to tell from the pics.
The guy who did this custom has the ability to take care of all the things I listed, and thats what kills me. The paint and decal application are solid, and all of the big stuff is there. The head is a great likeness, and the packaging looks good too. But the figure lacks those little details that would really make it excellent.

Holy cow the Seahawks sold out FAST!!!!!!!! The tickets went on sale at 10:00 am and they were sold out of seats by 10:15!!!! They still have standing room, but i don't like paying $50.00 bucks to stand for 3 hours, especially since the only game left is Arizona in December.
I managed to get two tickets to the Bears game on 11/18 for Sunday night football, but then tried to get two more for another game and come up empty.
Next year i'm buying season tickets so that i can go to my three games per year and sell the rest.

I think that's a great idea. I actually just signed up for their "Team Blue" for $250.00 bucks to be put on a waiting list for next years seasons tickets. That deposit will be applied to the season tickets if i get them next year.
Seemed like a lot of money for seasons tickets, but i went to the Seahwks sponsored ticket reselling site and the Bears game's tickets are going for $160.00 each (for $42.00 seats).
You could make good money from these tickets as long as the Hawks don't go into the tank and the fans stop coming like they did for the Sonics.

MaddenKearse, too bad that tickets are sold out already, I was planning to go to the Bengals game on the 23rd.
Next year i'm buying season tickets so that i can go to my three games per year and sell the rest.
you and the 10,000 others on the waiting list;)

I think that's a great idea. I actually just signed up for their "Team Blue" for $250.00 bucks to be put on a waiting list for next years seasons tickets. That deposit will be applied to the season tickets if i get them next year.
Seemed like a lot of money for seasons tickets, but i went to the Seahwks sponsored ticket reselling site and the Bears game's tickets are going for $160.00 each (for $42.00 seats).
You could make good money from these tickets as long as the Hawks don't go into the tank and the fans stop coming like they did for the Sonics.while the Sonics attendance has declined in the past few years, it's still at over 90% capacity. The games i've gone to in the past few years have been sold out or close to it. i would think the crowds will be down this year because, like the Grizzlies when they were here, the fans won't show up if an owner is threatening to move a team.

My math isn't great, but that's a 15-20 year waiting list.ya, that and Green Bay are apparently the longest waits. in my season ticket package this year they said there was the 10,000+ people on the waiting list and they had almost a 100% renewal.

Just wait for the team to miss the playoffs and you will see the renewal rate drop. Seattle fans are very "what have you done for me lately" *cough* Sonics *cough*.
If they go 8-8 or 7-9 this year, i'll put money on the renewal rate only being 80%.

Nothing to do with attendance? They had 2,500 empty seats every night last season with only 4 sell outs. Two of the sell-outs were during Phoenix games, probably because of Nash fans going south. The Vancouver Grizzlies had a better average attendance before they announced they were moving.
Are you telling my that the city and fans wouldn't be rallying around keeping the sonics in Seattle and building a new areana if they went 55-27 last year, instead if 31-51? You bet they would.

Yes, the Grizzlies were drawing better. Here are their attendance numbers (note - the last two years seem pretty good for a team that was already announced to be leaving).
Year Total Avg
2000-01 563,218 13,737
1999-00 569,864 13,899
1998-99 417,966 16,719
1997-98 660,457 16,109
1996-97 679,422 16,571
1995-96 704,489 17,183
15,955 only ranks them 25th in the league, just beating out "basketball crazy" Atlanta. Sorry, but that is poor.

I know for a fact the Grizzlies (Orca Bay) gave away thousands of tickets for free or as promotions per game to fill the seats and boost the #'s you see there.

I agree, they are absolutely hideous!! Why do you need the VANCOUVER over the logo!? They wanted to incorporate all the logos... but some jerseys are bad for a reason!! They look like an imitation jersey you buy for a kid... or a REALLY bad farm team... not professional in the least!

I understand why they don't lower prices, but i wish they would lower the number of season ticket. That way more singles games would be available that people can afford and they would still have sellouts. I can afford to go to a few games a year, but i definately cannot afford season tickets. With only a limited number of tickets available per game, my chance of getting tickets to Anaheim, Pittsburgh or Detroit is next to impossible.
Right now, companies or executives are scooping up seasons tickets that don't give a damn about hockey. The last game i went to, i had a jackass on my right clicking on his blackberry all game, a goof in front of me answering his cell phone every five minutes and a guy to my left that was READING THE NEWSPAPER during the game. I would have much rather had been surrounded by REAL FANS instead of executives who got them as a perk.

Wow, so the girl that works at IHOP must not have *grown up* bills like a car payment, mortgage etc etc, cause I make a decent living with *grown up* bills, and there is no way I can afford any seasons tickets.
And what I meant was they are alienating the people that cant afford seasons tickets by not making more single game tickets available. You dont think if they capped the season ticket base at 14,000 or 15,000 that every single game still wouldnt sell out? Of course it would. I was not saying the Canucks should lower prices, single game seats are reasonable value if you can get them, but the chances of getting them from ticketmaster are slim to none. I could afford an ice pack for myself, but the average income for a family, or even a husband and wife like my situation, cannot afford season tickets.

LOL! Well "the girl" at IHOP is actually about 28 and has *grown up* bills. Maybe some people manage money better then others or maybe we just prioritize differently. I'm pretty sure my family is of average income and I have two kids (5 and 2) and I can afford my mortgage, 2 car payments and season tickets. Maybe you spend your money on beer, pizza and crack. Are you sure its a bad business decision? I believe it is a good business decision for these two points:
1) Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that season tickets or 22 game packs are sold for less than full ticket value. The increase in ticket revenue would more than make up for the fact that this seat may be empty for 1 or 2 games per year.
2) These corporate bought season tickets are more times than not going to people who aren't fans that will support you during the tough times. When the team goes into the tank and people don't look at the Canucks tickets as a great perk, they will stop buying the season tickets. Long term attendance stability is formed by forming a great fan base. Having 1/4 of the building occupied by "fairweather fans" does not help. The only thing keeping Canucks fans happy is the amount of games on TV. If they ever change to a 50% PPV as i rumoured in other cities, they will lose the families and kids growing up. If your family cannot afford to go to the game, nor can it watch it on TV for free, you will be less likely to be a fan. Hockey is a live experience that TV cannot capture.
The NHL is alive right now becuase of the fans, not a television contract. They need fans and i believe that only 25% of the season tickets are bought by hardcore fans.

Although I can afford it, and I love watching the Canucks play live, I just can't justify spending that much money to entertain myself. Especially when I can watch it on TV and spend the rest on beer and pizza with my friends. (I have to say no to drugs) :D
I know the experience is different watching it live, but it's also different not having the color commentary. Especially for slow games, where there's no real action. Sitting in general silence with 18000+ people gets a little boring. Listening to Shortty and old Tommy L on the radio can be pretty entertaining too.
I'd sooner watch the Canucks on TV and save my money to watch U2 or the Police live. I know I can just listen to the on my iPod or download their concert in Chicago, but it is a big difference watching a good band live.
Or I'd sooner pay up big coin to watch a playoff game where everyone is excited to be there.
my 2 cents.
BTW, the BC thread is on page 100!!! Sweet!

The beer, pizza and crack comment was not uncalled for and it wasn't directed at you specificly. You're being oversensitive to me saying "Maybe you waste your money". Thats my opinion. My friends would say beer is not a waste of money.
Name calling? Gimme a break. There was no name calling directed at you. I have actually called you sensitive though if you don't mind that.
Of course not selling season tickets would be a poor business decision. You guys think that the multi-millionaires that own and run all the sports franchises in North America are wrong? LOL!

If this was the NFL i would let it go since they dominate the sports landscape. But since it is the NHL, which isn't even considered a top 5 sports in the US, and many teams are bleeding red ink, i think i'm justified.
I just hope that the Canucks 7 years from now when they are in year 3 of their rebuilding project and are struggling to sell ticket don't say "Geez....where did all the corporate support go that filled our buildings last decade? Let's see if the families that we alienated back then will bail us out." They may cringe when they hear "Sorry, we took our money elsewhere (Giants)".

Unfortunately having a debate online doesn't come across as a debate in person. Things are taken to literally by everyone including myself.
TheMaddenKearse: The reason the Giants are doing so well is because of the Canucks being sold out... :) as well as expensive. If tickets become available the first thing people will do is dump the Giants and go back to the Canucks. A majority of the population have no loyalty.

I agree it doesn't look like a real jersey.
I heard they put Vancouver on them for an extra boost in sales during the Olympics. Tourists would want souvenirs with anything Vancouver on it. Makes sense, hopefully they change the logo/look/uniform right after that.
Or maybe it is just tradition for the Canucks to have ugly jerseys.

Wow! Here is something I did not know... 06/07 season the Canucks had the highest average ticket price in the entire league! Even Detroit and the NY Rangers were -much- cheaper. They exclude premium games in the average but still... this is insane. I didn't have much of a problem with ticket preices -before- knowing this. I mean, if I was in New York I would gladly pay $250-300 for (the Rangers) a great seat just for a one time life experience. But if I left Vancouver for say 10 years and came back I wouldn't pay over $125 for a ticket. Of course, this is assuming that the info on this site is correct. :)

I got some through a guy at work who has season's tickets. I got Dallas on Dec 20th. Merry Christmas to me. I usually try and get to 1 game a year and this may be it for me.

I got that game as well nucksfan. I'm hoping to get a deal for the Calgary game on the 27th as well. I'll probably be off for 2-3 weeks over Christmas so I'll be looking for things to do.
Otherwise, I managed to get a pair of tickets to 7 games total. Nothing but singles left now. Didn't get tickets to any of the "Premium games". I was hoping for the Rangers game in Jan and a second option was the Pens in Dec. Not really interested in sitting by myself. :D

wow, all the games are already sold out (the ones I tried for)
Maybe it's just better to fly down to Anaheim for a weekend and get really good seats there. The Cdn $ is doing well and while I'm there I can look for a Trevor Lindon skate retro. hmmmm ;)
I just can't bring myself to paying over $350 for a pair of tix in my home town.
SEAHAWKS ROCK!

i got Detroit, Colorado, New Jersey, Anahiem, & Edmonton. i forgot about New York, but a guy i work with has season tickets & he wants my Seahawks vs. Saints tickets, so i'll have to swing a deal:D

Good luck with the Pens tickets. They've already been going for 4x ticketmaster prices. It's not a PPV so I'll just watch from home thanks.
I ended up with the Kings, Preds twice, Jackets, Stars, Blues and the Wild. Not the best teams but I seem to find them to be better games. I mean, the Avs games used to be the best by far but after "the incident" the games got way soft. Probably the worst hockey I've seen in years.
