I bought a NHL "lot" of 50 figs from a guy who needed the cash so it's tough to say. But on the entire lot I paid about 60-65% of fair market value on buying piece by piece and thats not including what paying shipping on numerous items may have been!
Needless to say, I'll have a lot of NHL figs for sale soon! :D

To be honest even if they are a little bit more than Walmart, Superstore etc.. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra to buy from a store like Wisers simply because they specialize in collectables. Not saying I would like to pay more and not saying that Wisers is more either but my point is I would rather support them than some giant chain store.

BTW I can understand where you are coming from, this post isn't really directed right at you so much - just thought I would share my two cents on this though. :)

I'm looking to get a whole lot of you local guys to hookup for coffee or food sometime soon. Over the last few months I've meet a lot of local boardies and I can honestly say you're all great guys! (Where are the chix, man? :D)
Anyway, I'm thinking a Sunday is probably best and the good weather is around the corner so maybe somewhere we can sit outside and that would be somewhat central to everyone. Either Burnaby, New West or Coquitlam (near Silver City). Just a Tims or Starbucks is fine but we could also do the Cactus Club near Silver City and sit outside. I'm thinking mid May to early June but not on the May long weekend. Let me know what you guys think. :D

Balduno: Most places do a case for about $165 w/taxes in. On lines like this where you get Gretzkys cheap as singles its not worth it unless you want the chance at a variant and then have 5-7 Gretzkys left over :p and not even get a full set. :(

If you consider getting cases then definitely get a case or two of NHL 11. There's going to be lots of chase figs available.... Just my guess and I'm right about 80% of the time. I think! :eek:

yeah i wasn't inquiring specifically about legends 2 cases, just wanted to know what kind of prices. my friend is interested in nhl 11 cases, so he wanted me to figure out if its better to go local or mctoys.

Yeah, but prices vary from line to line. After next month I know Spawn prices are going up. I'm not sure about everything else.
In regards to buying one case, just get it local from Mostly Music, Wisers,etc. but order it in advance so they can boost their order if necessary.

I got a call from old man Wiser's yesterrday. His reg legends 2 are 9.99. One of the Gretz variants Is 29.99 and the other was more. He only had one of them left. Regs @ten bucks are'nt a bad deal If you are heading out there or live close by. I'm usually In Langley once or twice a week. Wiser just blew me away by calling me :)

Collectors Choice doesn't have any Series 1-4.

Major League Collector has ton's of SP's, but his prices are really high. I remember seeing a NHL 1 Brodeur there and it was quite expensive. He had a Patrick Roy Reg NHL 5 and it was $60.

For me, I will sell xtras at cost to a select group of people. I've tried to sell outside this group for cost and the buyers still feel cost is too much for them to pay and expect a discount of some sort if they buy in quantities. But yet I didn't get any sort of discount when I purchased these figures. As for the others that I can't move, I will just hold on to them for a rainy day.

Balduno: I almost always sell for more unless I am making a "market value trade". I had sold variants on -numerous- occasions to people for cost to "help them out" and then later on found out they flipped it almost immediately for $35 and once for as much as $60 US! So... my reasoning for charging market value most of the time is why should I let someone mislead me into a "great deal" when the true deal is that they are going to profit from "my figure"?

My belief in "scalping" is people who shop for variants and never have any intent on keeping them. Whereas in my situation, yes I intend on making profit but I buy cases and cases for my friends and customers and most get what they want without having to shop and shop and shop, or pay high Ebay prices as well as paying shipping to 2, 3 or even more different sellers. In the long run they pay more than retail, less than Ebay and they almost always get everything they want in one stop shopping. Even delivered sometimes! :D

In other words, I'm a good guy to know. ;)

I have come across a really nice location to open up my store in Maple Ridge. It's right on 223rd in between Dewdney Trunk and Lougheed Hwy. Rent is -very- reasonable, lots of parking and good foot traffic.
My question is: Where would you like to see a collectible store open up? Do you mind travelling a bit of a distance to get your wants at great prices? Gimme some input here guys... I didn't really consider Maple Ridge before so I'm a bit hesitant. I do know though that it's booming out there in regards to housing starts/sales. Cheers! :D

Picked up a couple of Blue Fuhr's at Zellers tonight in Abbotsford, just happened to be there for baby Tylenol, and a couple of guys were unpacking the cases, 4 in total, all the exact same assortment, one Beliveau, one Bossy, 2 Fuhr's, 1 chase Fuhr and a whole lotta Waynes! For trade if anyone has a white Beliveau they want to give up.

Maple Ridge is a dump man. Isnt there anything available in Coquitlam? I think a store like this is gonna be made up of just loyal customers that always come back like boardmembers so location is huge to attract new customers. Street traffic If its a place where theres alot of people already doing shopping you can attract more customers or curious ppl like the mall but I guess thats expensive. I dont know how many customers outside of the actual hardcore collector your gonna get on a side street in maple ridge.

Put it in coq superstore they have a empty store inside for lease right beside the travel agency plus youll be there at opening everyday just take all there chases also lol

Heh, thanx for the input but you're way off. 223rd is far from a "side street". It's one of the busiest streets in Maple Ridge. Zellers parking lot is right in front of the store, there is 3 banks on 2 blocks and there is a magazine specialty store right next door. The location is totally hot outside of the fact that it's Maple Ridge.

How did they miss number them? I never thought they were individualy serial numbered. They have a very nice display box and are being sold at a very reasonable price.
