I hope your thread does well. I'm a former Vancouverite myself, and I occasionally go back for a visit. The benefit of living in Winnipeg is that I can easily find Canuck Sps here. The most Canuck Sps I've ever seen in my visits back home was 2 -- 1 Naslund and 1 Bertuzzi at a place on 152 and King George. Couldn't find any Lindens anywhere.

About half my figures are bought from Ebay auctions with spelling errors that don't list when you search and prices stay well below normal.

Don't forget about "Mostly Music" in dowtown PoCo. They have a lot of McFarlane stuff. A bit pricey on some stuff but I'm sure if you talk to the right guy/owner you can get a good deal. Supersore and Walmart seem to be the best for new off the shelf stuff though.

One thing you have to watch about Wiser's Is ...they talk the talk and then rip you off. Thinking you know nothing of the hobby and the like, they'll take advantage.

He's been like that for years, remember his card/comic shop in fort Langley, he drove every other card shop out of buisness by undercutting everyone when the card boom hit in the early 90's. Has anybody checked their London Drugs yet? They have new NHL 8 that they have on sale at $14.99. Nanaimo put out a case last week and there was a Belfour chase. I was in a few shops today... Superstore and Toys R Us are loaded up on Spawn 26 (Art of Spawn) and Spawn Reborn Series 2. A few -really- kewl figures and a chase but I left it for someone who might want it as a keeper. I really dig the Spawn the Black Knight. Not really my area though. I'll stick with the sports and the gore. :)

Hahaha... poor LeClair! He's from NHL 1 and I still see him on shelves... close to 5 years now? The problem is anything thats still on the shelves is so *****kicked it ain't worth $2 unless you want it as an opener.
For those of you that are newer here I'll mention that I've been selling off all my doubles and variants on Ebay. (User name Plooto) I'll do meetings ONLY IF YOU EMAIL ME and say you saw my post here and preferably only multiple items. Sorry, all my NHL stuff is gone... and -very- hot if anyone here is considering selling theirs.

Check out the Surrey Superstore on King George Hwy, they have the NHL 3" Series 1 - 6 packs on sale for $9.99 each.If you want value, check out Walmart at Guildford Mall. They have the NHL 3" Series 1 - 2 packs for $1.92 each!! Personally, I would go for the 2 packs at Walmart, get all 12 figures for about the same price :D Happy hunting!

Just got back from Surrey and I went to Toys R Us, Superstore on King George and Walmart at Guilford. Toys R Us sucks, Walmart didn't have a Blue Gretzky, but Superstore had one of the best selections of SPs I hae ever seen. I picked up the entire NHL regular set (I only collect regs) but didn't see any chases and got both 3 inch six packs. I think the six packs look sharp and for 9.94 Canadian I couldn't go wrong. The guy at the border laughed at me buying hockey toys in Canada.

Found NHL 9 at all 4 Zellers in Victoria today but not a single variant. Saw the Nascar Shrek and Donkey 2-packs at Zellers Tillicum Mall. Just 1 of each.

Walmart Langford finally got NHL 9 but no variants either.

The Walmart Langford had the orange numbered Gretzky about 2 1/2 weeks before Christmas. They lasted about a day and a half. Thanks to who ever returned the Sakic chase and hull retro chase yesterday at Superstore Langford. I'm guessing somebody returned them as there was no new stock on the shelves or they found them hidden in the back. But I now have my complete set of chase.:D

I am a huge Gretz fan and am in the process of putting together a nice games room display. Today I just bought a 12' white oilers and a blue 6" oilers gretz. My questions are the 12 inch white one at the store were two different poses one where he is about to get a pass (the one shown on the McFarlane website) and there was another one, one where he is ready to shoot a one-timer, I got that one cuz it looked better and from all the stores that I went to this one was different. What are variants, and chases? I also am looking for a 12" blue gretzky but from what I have read they are a little harder to find. Thanks guys any help would be appretiated.

In the 12 inch line, Gretzky only has a white Oilers, a Black Kings, a corrected Blue, and an error blue. There are no chases in the 12 inch. There are only chases in the 6 inch.

Jobs50: You can only find the Blue 12" at Walmart -IF- you can find one still. Like Greg1999 said there are 2 versions of the 12" Blue. The original error one has the wrong colour in the numbers on the jersey (white) and the corrected one being orange numbers. There's always Ebay as well but there are a lot of good traders\sellers here in the forums. Good luck!

Alucardblack: I posted about 6-8 weeks ago about a few of us going in on the ProTech cases. They are not cheap. Two sizes, prolly get some of both, after shipping they'll be about $3.50 - $4.00 each... and thats cost! No wonder nobody sells them around here. If you (or anyone else here) want some then PM me and we'll try work out a bulk buy. I have enough of an order now to get about 100 regular and 30-40 oversized ones. I'm hoping to go ahead with this order within the next 2 weeks. Cheers!

There is the odd NFL figure like Warren Sapp, Jerome Bettis, etc. that are too big for the regular cases. If you compare your figs you'll see that some are noticeably larger. Use the known oversized packages as a guideline for the rest. Here is an incomplete list that may help a bit:

Yipper: (and others interested) The regular 12" Gretzkys just went on sale at London Drugs for $29.99. They also have NHL 7 - NHL 9 on sale for $9.99. The sale is on until January 30th. The London Drugs at Coquitlam Center had about 6 12" Oiler Gretzkys, 2 12" LA Gretzkys and a so-so mix of NHL7 and NHL9.... 2 Datsyuks, several Chelios' in both uniforms Detroit and Montreal, 2 Heduks, lotsa Leetchs', Sundins', and Nolans and several Robatailles. I think there was 1 McInnis left as well.
As an investment, I'd say grab the Gretkys and any Detroit figs you can get. We can burn all the Leaf figs!

I got a Retro Leetch at the Walmart in North Van yesterday. It was hiding on the top shelf beside a couple of 12" Gretzkys. The Walmart in Burnaby had the Heritage 2 Pack. They had about 10/12 left. They were spread out all over the toy department. They also had a tonne of the 3" 2 Pack series 1 for $1.92. They had a pallet mixed with 12" Gretzky, Nolan Ryan and Sammy Sosa. They had about 5/6 blue corrected Gretzkys left. Thanks for the headsup on the Heritage 2 Pack "Alu"!!!!!

Was walking by the Bay at Pacific Center...when I notice retro Hull in the jersey section...Get this...retro HULL $99.99 so was variant BERTUZZI...the guy working there tells me that this is a great deal and worth a mint because it is so hard to come by...So fellow boarders want a laugh... stop at the Bay in Pacific Center near the skytrain station and watch this sales person talks about the NHL series and he was the rare retro hull.
