Major Legends 2 dump at SJ TRU stores yesterday or this morning. Found what looked light remains of 4 cases at each store, given the number of Greenes and Nitz. No Lots left at any store...only 6 Montanas left total (now there is zero)...very few Paytons. As predicted, this set is literally flying off the shelves, except for Nitz and Greene around here.

Newark TRU have a bunch of Green, Nietske, and Payton. No Lott or Joe.:( I just went to the opening of the new Walmart by Stevenson, and they don't have any football figs. Bunch of wrestling classics and ML. I was surprised, because I was the only one there and I went there @ 9 am with my son. I left a bunch of ML variants and hard to find figs and bunch of hotwheels. I bought my son some wrestling toys though.:D

Mike: I'll be going out for the Rangers on the 2cnd, and should be able to find out then from the regular "hounds" where the Pens will be staying. I'll let you know. Be ready to be out by 9:30 a.m. for the morning skate bus departure. If the Pens play the night before, the morning skate could be optional, which leaves the best time as 4-5 p.m. before the game.

Penguins were tough to get anything signed. Crosby, Malkin and Fleury all stayed away from everyone. Managed to get a nice Toskala autograph at the back gate, but nothing more. Game was excellent however...Sharks played much stronger game.

I was there this past saturday and it wasn't that great at all. Only a few dealers there and hardly any SPs. Only 2 dealers were really carrying SPs, Warren & this other guy. It's fairly new, so hopefully more dealers sign up to sell there. Maybe it can be a NorCal Frank & Sons someday.

Chris told me that its not a great place, bad lighting and that the bathrooms reminded him of somthing you would see in a horror movie.
But if ownership digs into his own deep pockets and fixes things then it should be a good show, I am personally I would be very interested if it was going to be run well... and I could get someone in the area who would want to work for me... ;) as I am not going to be able to drive to Hayward on Wednesday nights & Saturdays all that often.

Well, the Hayward cardshow wasn't that great but it has possibilities for the future. Its in a huge scarey warehouse and the lighting is pretty bad when I was looking through boxed cards. Has lots of potential to grow into a huge show as word spreads. Will go back next week to see if its any better. If it does improve I might consider getting a table there sometime to sell off some extra stuff if its cheap enough :)

NHL 13 found at Blossom Hill TRU; remnants of 1 case w/ only Heatley, Tanguay and McCabe. I have lousy timing...traveled to and from LA on Sun-Mon and stopped at TRU all the way up the coast. Found some cheap older stuff but no new NHL...so now it starts to hit as soon as I get home! :mad:

Today I had good luck for a change. Found 2 stray Ovechkins at TRU Sunnyvale. As I paid for them, I noticed an unopened case of NHL 13 sitting on the floor near customer service desk. After asking about it, the girl returned a few minutes later and said that the manager told her she could open it. No games or excuses for a change!Presto...one Daniel Sedin, Thornton and 2 Lundqvists for me. Also picked up another Alexander O. Sooo...not a bad haul at all. Looks like one case per store right now is hitting.

It was a card/toy show. There were a couple of folks with basketball cards but I only collect football so I didnt check them out to closely.

I stopped by around 1:30. Made a wrong turn inside the building and thought I walked into a room from SAW. Very scary; I recommend going to the bathroom before you go. Other than that, the place has a lot of potential. Huge space with lots of room. Lighting is not so great, and it needs paint (strange burn marks on the walls), but the people were friendly and there is a TV lounge area that makes it a little more homey. If they can get a good marketing plan to get the word out there, the dealers and collectors will come.

After the upset I had to go to my boss' Christmas party in Walnut Creek. Hey Sharkie- I would use a dullcoat spray. This way you won't see any brush lines, and it will protect the decals as well as make them less shiny. The dullcoat will also as act as a good contrast to the gloss of the helmets, etc. :)

Bruce, 3 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear (to protect and seal the decals), follow with 3 coats of Testors Dull coat. The Krylon hides most of the brush strokes and decal lines.
