They put those out yesterday Goldrush. I went by about 1:30 p.m. and looked through that entire bin (especially for a gold Ozzie which may have escpaed the eyes of the usual hunters). I was surprised to find Dimaggio and Williams variants still there...but no others. I rarely go to that store...just a lucky stop I guess. But man, I've seldon seen such a huge bin full around here. Looked like 4-6 cases of Coops and 1 case of MLB 17.

Shows you what happens when all your information is from the back of the package. 3 reg Naslunds left in one store...so that means there were a total of 4 in one case? All of my cases had 4 Phoenix Cujo, 1 Oilers Cujo, no Naslund Chases so I assume the Oilers Cujo is a chase.

Went to the show around 5:30 tonight. Seems like the dealers were expanding their displays there, though I think I saw only one actual new dealer. The place looks less empty now at least. Lighting is still horrible; some dealers added lights but it's still really dark in there. Maybe they need to open up the big roll up doors on the far wall to take advantage of the sunlight.

Again, it felt like my coworker and I were the only non-dealers there. Most of the stuff is the same stuff that was there the last time, and the time before... didn't see any NHL 14 and the only guy who had a Chavy chase was selling it for $35. At the F&S show in LA there is always the latest stuff just out and healthy competition between dealers; here it seems like a bunch of people's collections gathering dust. (My gf picked up the chase Chavy at F&S for $18 btw.)

Walking around (which didn't take long as there are only three aisles) I noticed mostly toys and collectibles; SPs actually take up a large percentage of the items there. What is missing are sports card dealers selling packs, boxes, and just cards in general. Also, there may have been one or two dealers selling comics but I didn't see any large displays selling current issues. I think toys won't do it alone here; baseball cards and comics are vital to the success of this place. They hold some kind of Pokimon-type tournement on the weekends I think, but I don't know if that crowd matches up well with what these dealers are selling. If comic collectors had reliable dealers there selling the new stuff at discount prices, they would come. I would be tempted to sell there if I knew anything about comics.

It still needs a long way to go to turn the corner and be a successful common market for sellers and buyers. Aren't there monthly flea-market type shows in the South Bay that do fairly well? I wonder if the guy in charge passed out flyers to local dealers at the recent WonderCon? I would like to see the show grow but I wonder if we have the market to sustain a F&S type of environment.

Mike, I was at the Hayward show until about 5:40...must have just missed you. Visited with my old friend Chris, who is set up to the left when you enter. Cannot argue witrh anything that you said. Have to say there are lots of SPs there though. Alex of curious things has a fair amount of NHL pieces, including quite a few variants. One guy had a case of new NBA. Went by TRU at Southland after and found 2 Cujos and a clean Zetterberg. :D

Yeah I can bet Tony is hard to track down especially after his rookie performance at Sears Point, no one really knew of him his rookie year and he just took the tour by storm and never look back. I so want to make it back to Sears Point, haven't been back since that year...

I also ended up getting Mark Martin (not sure where that one went to), Jack Roush and my fav driver Bobby Labonte's auto. When I got Bobby's auto he had just came out of the garage area where he was swarmed and signing auto's, but I was away from the entrance but he walked towards me and when I saw it was him I was speechless -- I did not expect that I would be taller than him. I felt like a big doof, my fav racer and I didn't say one thing; but oh how I was stoked and my weekend was made!!!!

I'm looking for the one that's black in color..they came w/ two different cards, one says 2007 FE, the other reads 2007 New Models.

It also has been spotted w/ two different 5 spoke rims.

Bill, it was great! The seats are phenomenal. Section 121, just inside the 3rd base line, 30 rows up. If you get there early you can go right down to the A's dougout to watch batting practice get close to the players. There were a ton of foul balls all around us, we even got on the jumbotron for a second or two in between innings! Bunch of nice fans all around too! But if the weather is like tonite I'd bring a coat, it was pretty chilly! :)

Mike, thank you very much ffor those seats. Very appreciative!!! The game was good, but fast 1hr 49min!!!! But yeah 3 hit shut-out 1 run win, not sure I would call it a pitcher's duel, but just seemed like the ball was'nt traveling that day... We bailed out on the firwork as we would have to had waited for an hour, that is how quick the game was... Thanks again!!!!

You weren't kidding Alex those were some good seats, best I have had at an A's game and I have watched games from the luxury box before... Oakland A's pitcher Rich Harden is scheduled to begin his Major League Rehabilitation assignment with a relief appearance for the River Cats on Wednesday, June 20th against the Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners) at Raley Field. Harden was placed on the 15-day DL on April 23 retroactive to April 16 with a strained right shoulder. Hey, I have no way to verify this but I heard a rumor from a guy who bought a case that TMP made more of the figs than the scheduled 3000 per. Don't know if I believe it but wanted to run it by you guys in "case" you heard anything...

Alex, that seems to be a rumor every year...but I highly doubt it. According to Mark's report tonight, they sold 4,800 pieces today, so they could certainly sell lots more than the 6,000 total this weekend. But Mark's admission of sales seals the deal at 3,000 each IMO. Mark said he was shocked at the great turnout today. Anyone who is going tomorrow...GET THERE EARLY AND GO STRAIGHT TO THE THIRD FLOOR! 6 set limits of today will probably be cut in half or less tomorrow.

Condition of the figures looked to be pretty good. They let you mix and match a case, and boardies are given the chance to open and remove all figs to replace any damaged ones. When carrying my case around the rest of the day, I tied about 5 plastics bags together in a long string, looped it around the bottom of the case, taped the sides and presto...instant handles to carry the case!

Great pics Alex...my digital camera is with my wife in Ohio this week, so I had nothin...Got there at 11:00 and bought my mixed case. My son also picked up a set...so 7 sets total. Went back after autos about 5:00 to trade in a damaged Reggie and ended up talking to Weber for 20 minutes. At that point, there were seldom more than 5 people in line. What I learned from Mark:

-NHL 16 photos won't be up until all NHL and Team approvals are secured. All the players will be in the new jerseys.

-When making the Eck head sculpt, Todd ordered 2; one with the eye closed and one with both open. They chose not to use the "one eye closed" delivery head sculpt, because it looked rather strange, and they were not sure that everyone knew that Eck closed his one eye when making the pitch;

-They have discussed conventions and regional cases;

-Rickey Henderson sounds like a sure thing to be made once he actaully stops trying to play;

-TMP is looking at Cheechoo or Marleau for the next Shark; Todd will probably lean towards Cheechoo, whose Dad is following the figures closely and bugging Todd about making his son; both were head scanned at Dallas in February;

-Mark and I discussed the possibility of more Raiders Legends players; he sounded hopeful, since he said the Raiders are huge sellers even though they have been lousy record-wise for most of the TMP production years;

Other than that...we talked MLB and other subjects...very much enjoyed meeting him. If you go by the booth late in the day he is free to chat it up.

Only bummer was that the TMP booth was not fully set up today; they apparently had no time to do anything but sell, so no new figs on display.

From the autograph line, got 2 Rollie Fingers sigs and caught Vida Blue for $10.00 at the "Black Aces" book presentation with Mike Norris at a booth on the second floor.

All in all, a pretty decent day. Looking to go back for more autos on Monday! :D

Good game up til what the 5th, 6th; Haren did not look like the All Star caliber not sure if he was in a funk, trying to rest him self for the game. However I knew they should have pulled him instead of letting him work out that inning, cause after the visit to the mound he was not pitching smart, he was just chucking the ball to the plate. Also I would like it to be known, that yes, I did call Beltre's 2nd Dinger; however I called staright center, and he hit it straight left to the stairs.... I would not be suprised if we saw each other or was in line together. That was bout the same time I went to get my figs, and I seen just a couple of people using the plastic bag trick. i so should have done that, as it was uh quite an experience lugging the case up and down and through out the floor....
