^I know we have been selling them since the start of the season. There was kind of an issue with them -the alignment of the crest over the split on the front of the jersey was differeent from the regular home jersey, so it looked a little strange- when you see them you'll understand- but I don't know if they were going to fix them this year or not.

Thanks man, I do know what you mean, but I saw those on the cool base jerseys during the Fanfest. I haven't been to a game yet this year, but that will change since the Sharks are out of the playoffs :(.

I'm in agreement with ya Sharkie. I was lucky to pick up the last '80s green Oakland authentic throwback at the A's store during the Fanfest, hopefully they have those there next year :D

Champs at Newark Park Mall has MLB 21, no chase but i got one of the two variant of Dice-K with logo on the cap and left the other one. They also had Josh Hamilton so i grabbed it :) and if ne1 still need Legend NFL Bo they had 4 of them.

Much brighter with both artificial and natural light coming in. There were 5-6 dealers there with large displays- only one with a large selection of SPs although I didn't see anything new. It's right off the freeway too- very easy to get to. It will be interesting to see how this show will fare against the Hayward show, which unfortunately has not grown in the way I thought it would...

Yeah, those are the ones, well some had autographs on the base, but I would prefer the one autographed on the padding inside the mask like my Hayward. I heard The Mighty Ducks Guy Hebert mask was sold exclusively at Arrow Head Pond Arena and very hard to find, you have a gem there ;)

Went to the Tanforan show Sunday. It was just like going to the Hayward show; same amount of dealers, only not in a scary warehouse. Lots of baseball card dealers but very few selling SportsPicks.Did talk to the guy who sells celebrity photos from the Hayward show- he said the new Oakland/Embarcadero show already has 14 dealers signed up, and all the wall spaces are filled. He also said that the show will be open on Sunday as well as Weds. night and Sat. He is moving to the new space, so I wonder what will happen to the Hayward space now that some dealers are jumping ship...:confused:

I went to the NFL HOF enshrinement in 2002; it was a blast. Flew into Cleveland the night before, then drove down to Canton the next morning with my USC helmet intending to get Anthony Munoz and Ron Mix to sign it. Back then, there were two autograph sessions of about 10-15 players each; Mix and Munoz were in different groups and you couldn't buy individual autographs- you had to buy the entire group. Needless to say, I ended up with a lot of HOFer autographs that day. Then Munoz didn't show up which really sucked, considering I had bought the package just for him. :(

The trip got better though; after it was over I drove to Pittsburgh and caught the Pirates-Giants game at PNC Park (awesome stadium!) from the first row behind the dugout. Spent the night in Pittsburgh, then drove back to Cleveland and got a tour of Jacobs Field before heading back.

I managed to get Munoz' autograph later that summer in Chicago. He thought I was crazy flying out that far twice to get his sig. He was probably right... :o

I was fully expecting Tri-Star to scale back. The shows had decreasing traffic, and thus fewer dealers paying their table fee. Bought a Howie Long today at the Embarcadero (Oakland) show for $12... saves me the gas in trying to find one in the Raider Nation.

Looked at the complete line, and the thead about the Lambert with yellow molded plastic is right on... it looks Horrible! Just like an SLU only bigger. The others aren't much better; the Montana has molded tan pants and the Moon and Tark had plastic pants too- they looked a little better though. The Long at least has silver pants, also a silver helmet to go along with it would have been nice. :(

Took a road trip to Modesto today with these results:

No Legends at Modesto.

Saw leftovers of one case at Dublin. Found a grey facemast Lambert for a friend and a minty purple Tark stashed in the overhead bin.

Blossom Hill TRU had 2 cases. Got 2 blue sleeve Moons and passed on Howies for now; they had 4 at 1:00 p.m.

Saw no Montanas, but not a problem as we will probably see full cases soon.

The packaging was not as bad as I thought it would look...but I still don't like it. And package condition was better than expected.

I agree with everything Trojansc said about production issues. I hope this isn't a new trend.

I just heard back from our design team and they informed me that the factory forgot to put the paint apps on his legs. We are working on fixing this for the Steelers 3-Pack.

Wow...NHL 19 out already? Have to take a peek. Saw Montanas at the HOF. Price was $16.99 so I passed. At least his helmet is shiny gold instead of the dull tan. Found 1 Morrison and 2 reg. Garnetts from the last NBA series 3 for $10.00 in Ohio. The TMP booth at Canton was pretty quiet on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Ben said I was only the second or third Boardie to say hi. No limit on the Riggins, and saw no line at any time while I was there. Sign of the times I'm afraid. It was hard to find mint packaging. Had fun talking to Bob McFarlane, and Ben was very cool. He seems to regret the new "tweak" system, and didn' argue when I stated my disappointment about the changes.

I didn't closely examine the Espo- I'll take another look the next time I go. The one I did see had a sloppy paint job on the facemask. :(

Grant Fuhr's mask looks bad; the openings directly in front of his eyes are too big and round and seem out of proportion. :(

Not only was Kovalev's jersey unpainted red, I think the "C" logo on the front is too small; worst hockey figure I have ever seen. :(:(

Yeah, the Don Cherry looks like he was overglossed, but I'll take that over unpainted, sadly. :o

Hey fellas! Went to Great Mall during lunch today to check out the “sports show” next to Dave & Busters. There were 3 dealers with a small assortment of SPs. One dealer had an NFL5 9ers Rice black belt and Falcons Farve no HW. Also the KB has 4 of the new full bullpen Rivera box sets for $18. Maybe I’ll check out the Tanfran show this weekend.

Got a Moss and Willie Parker for $10 each at the Embarcadero show today from Warren (second booth on left); both look good. Peg are the larger metal as opposed to the thin ones in the legends series. The Russell figures also had really shiny jerseys, similar to the look of the DiMaggio/Mantle two packs...

Case of 10 green Favres at Curtner TRU last night...all appeared to be in pretty decent shape. Remnants of a wave 3 case, with one Ware and another I can't recall. A case of Montanas at BH TRU...snagged a clean tweaker...(don't ask me why...habit I guess :p) Found a white Ty Cobb that I needed for $6.98...:D

Didn't go to the Milpitas mall show, but did go to the Embarcadero show on Sunday. Most of the dealers were at the Milpitas show, so go figure.

Did see Wave 3 NFL there and was very excited to get a retro Portis, until I saw the unpainted pants. Decided I really couldn't live with that so I passed. Maybe some day I will come around.

So instead I bought some old NFL figures for cheap there and reminisced about the good old days of painted pants, accurate facemasks and realistic grassy bases.

Saw the Steelers 3-Pack at TRU Marin (open 'till 1am tonight for your shopping convenience!); there were at least 4 of them and since they also feature shiny plastic unpainted pants I decided to forget it.

Target at silver creek/capital and story road has NFL wave 3 and 3 inch. They had Brady, Ben, Driver, Portis, Culter and the 3 pack quarterback set. Also TRU at Fremont has wave 1 and about 5 green Favres but the cards had dings and creases on them and the paint job was yuckie on the upper part of his arms. They have Barber, Portis, 2 ea of Ben, Brady, Driver, Culter and Driver. Picked up the Barber reg. One of the Culters was missin the Riddle logo on the helmet but the card had a hole punch in it.

Oh the silver creek/captial Target in San Jose had both red uni Jordan pro shot REDnGOLD.

I saw 2 Barbers on that Target on Silvercreek. I snagged one and left the other. I found another Barber @ Target on Tully (the new one by Costco) and left it there. They have the 3 inch and 3 QB set as well.
The Green Favres on TRU @ Fremont was plentiful. I was there when they opened 2 cases of it. There was a Peterson "tweak" there too the other day and I left it. Was it still there?

Made my first trip to the Toy Store in well over a year. I need to find a Chipper Jones. A Modesto TRU worker approached me as I was checking over the new figures and asked who I was looking for. After I said Chipper, he said he has opened 5 cases and has yet to find a Chipper Jones. He says he has only put out 3 cases and still had two in the back but since they are the same players, there is no need to rush them out. Also, said he has not had a George Brett either.

Found a few damaged Crosbys yesterday for openers (package bent badly but figs look good-better paint apps for sure). Left a Luongo at Winchester. One case at each store and they are basically gone. Why don't we get decent NHL shipments around here any more??? :mad:
