Just wondering if you guys have found any Joe Horns at the TRUs around here. There are a ton of Bens and Roaf in Emeryville, and last night I saw at least 8 Jones in SF.

You were lucky because I must have been at the Dublin TRU right before you got there. The lady was really crappy with me the last time I asked if they had anymore and "Hot Wheels" guy was bugging me asking all sorts of questions so I just left and went to KB in Stoneridge. The lady at KB said they aren't getting any McFarlane until next week and could only say Mon thru Wed.

Anyone see Series 11 at KB, Wal-Mart, or Target yet?

KB in Pleasanton won't be getting them till early next week. TRU is the only place I've heard has them in the BayArea.

Got my case today from Kim (spawntoys.com). Here was the breakdown:

2 X Big Ben reg
1 X Big Ben Chase
2 X Brady
2 X Moss

1 X McGahee

I was hoping for either a McGahee chase or NH Brady (yea right!), but the Big Ben chase is cool too. I am glad it wasn't an Elam, since I had already got 2 at Toys R Us this week, and I am also really happy a Horn was in my case, as I haven't seen that anywhere.

Bump....hey guys, hit TRU's in Emeryville and Pinole this AM but NFL 11 chases were gone...the Emeryville store had a ton of them in a big bin...looked like more of those Elam assortment cases...had some 12" Bettis & Brady there also. No sign of anything good at Target in Berkeley.

Can only hope we start seeing different case assortments soon but they may not want to put them out since there are so many regulars on the shelves already...:)

Chris at Kids Dreams got 10 cases of NFL 11. 1 was white Horn, the other 9 were Elam chase, with no other varients. While Elam is fine, it would be nice to see SOME other varient showing up. At this rate, trading Elams will not be as lucrative as once thought. Agree w/ Anthony that it makes no sense to complain...it is what it is. But I can also see why some frustration is setting in; this in combination w/ no Smiths...

When I thought I would not get my cases until after Serramonte I went and bought 4 cases at one of the local TRU's and all had Elam, but hey a chase is a chase, could have been worse I remember once upon a time having a batch of 20 cases of NFL 7 that ALL HAD 0 CHASES in them. If I got a vote on the Surprise Chase I would not have chosen Elam thats for sure, but hey we get what we get, some of the direct cases I got had Elam as well, but I have only a few left, they all were sold or traded.

Wave 2 should begin hitting Friday or next Monday, then we will start seeing the elusive Alex Smith figures and we should all be happy, but he's likely not to have a chase so don't be surprised,shocked,disapointed or angered about that.

Also in response to Mike, I as a store owner and collector am never excited about any McFarlane NBA product, because NBA is never a good seller not to mention overuse of poses and over/re-use of certain players has just made it undesireable. BUT I do like the Wade & Richardson choices this time at least there is somthing new, Kobe White & Amare Orange will do well too, and with the list of NBA 10 this set looks like gold (Manu & Nash are OK).

Sunrise Mall is the first weekend of November. As for Solano Mall I know I will not be there, my partner Bob may go out but I doubt it, the last show there was so bad I left Sat about 7pm, its a bad show all around for SP's there is usually only us, the guy who looks like Charles Manson LOL, & Warren.
Save your $$ and gas and just come to Sunrise, you probably will not miss anything at Solano. Also next weekend there is a show at Country Club Mall (If you wanna call it a mall) here in Sacramento, its usually a good show, I've been there every show pretty much since 1992. Don't know who will be there though, has not been a show there in 2 years.

Just a reminder for anyone in the Dublin/Pleasanton area, the KB in the mall should be getting series 11 in either later today or tomorrow. I won't have time to stop by so someone should so they can get the chase/s before they are gone.

TRU in Dublin had about a case and a half of regs from series 11 and Legends on the shelf. Few Bradys, a few Barbers, a few Roafs, couple Bens, a couple McGahees, one Jones, and all the regs from Legends.
No Horn, Smith, or Moss.

As common as Moss is supposed to be, I still haven't seen him but probably because it's the Bay Area and he's a popular figure.

Not true at all. The only way that would be true is if you divided the state into 3 parts. North, Central and South. But that's not how we do it. There's NorCal and SoCal. That's it. The midpoint is somewhere between Fresno and San Jose. Even if we call it San Jose, that's around 125 miles and a good 2 hour drive before Sac. Just thought I'd straighten that out. I just came back. I didn't buy anything. However, there were more than 2-3 tables today with SPs. I saw probably 10 tables with them. One guy had a Black Shaq 2 for $20, but otherswise, nothing real nice, basketball wise. One guy had 3 Alex Smiths, $60 each. I saw a pair of Deions and several 12" football SPs. Not many NFL 11, not even regs. TONS of local players - A's catfish, Giants Mays, Giants Alou, Zitos. Decent show, not great, but not terrible either. I would like to have seen some NBA figures, but no luck.

I went to the Great mall show...Horrible for SP's!!!:mad: I probably saw 2 dealers that sold mostly Sportspicks. Others just carried a handful of local players or regs from older series at high prices. I think I saw a Mulder reg at $20.:eek: Like Emeyecee One said there was 1 guy who had Alex Smiths and they were at $60, NH Unitas at $75, and so on and so forth.(U guys get the picture.):rolleyes: He had my Pirates Bonds Grail at $125. I didn't buy anything from him or anyone. I did walk into Media Play though and picked up a WHITE TIKI w/ BLUE SOCKS!!!:D The store was right in front of this guy's table. I also saw a Moss at the store, but left it for somebody else. Buy it at Media Play for $12 or $15-$20 at the show. On my way out I saw somebody had bought it cuz it was gone. I also picked up a Corpse Bride figure. So all in all it wasn't too bad. Nothing at the show. But did still come away with a Tiki Chase.:) Anthony(Capital Sports), I'll be at the show next week in Sac-town. 1 more thing...on my way to Great Mall, passed by TRU in Sunnyvale on El Camino. Not much NFL 11 a couple of Brady regs and Tiki regs, but there was a MLB grey Rolen2 on the pegs. So if any of the boardies need that chase and live down that way hopefully its still there. I would've picked it up and offered it up here C+S, but I never realized that TRU at 3:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday is madhouse. I was just trying to buy my daughter a Razor scooter and Buy1 get 1 free Barbies(last day of sale) and it was like an obstacle course getting around that place.

Worst show this year.:mad: Prices just too high, and too many of the same old figures. Part the dealers fault (get more figures), the economys fault (gas too high, so are prices of figures), McFarlane (make less figures so we want it that much more), the teams all Bay Area teams are bad or middle of the road , and us the collectors for keeping our hands in our pockets and not spending money. Its a cycle.

I saw 3 Smiths ($60+):eek: and 5 Alous ($15). Those are two of the shortest pieces ever and no one was buying them. Why both teams stink, make a winner and everyone needs it. Loose and its a pegwarmer, but not at retail, only on dealer tables.

Why do collectors (and dealers too) go to TRU everyday looking, we are wasting gas and time 90% of the time. :confused: How much time do we waste in gas and time looking and coming up empty? We buy from Target, TRU, Gamestop (when they had figures), but dont support the dealers. We always want something for nothing. How many have found a NH Brady at retail, how much in the end did it cost, 20, 30 trips to the store, how much time?

Nice rant Nisa! That's why I try to trade on the board or just wait until the shine wears off the new series...Prices drop on Ebay pretty quickly these days. Really want a Barber Chase but trying to trade for it at this point. They are already down to the $25 range on Ebay. As for rare figs, those are just a luck thing. I will not waste time/gas/$ on something like that. If I run into it during my normal shopping great, otherwise if I really want it, then I will save up. Even most tough figs come down to a reasonable price eventually...:D

I agree you guys, Nisa & Daboltz. Here's my opinion. With chase figs, yeah it's all hit or miss. Like Daboltz said, I usually will trade or wait for the hype to go down and get it for a more reasonable price. I support my local teams through thick and thin. It doesn't matter if a team is doing bad, if it has an S.F. jersey on the fig, I'm buying it. What I didn't like about the Alex Smith situation is that we all believed it was a reg that would be mass-produced like all the other regs in the line-up and us bay area fans could get one without having to pay jacked up prices. This is the first time that I've seen a reg at $50+ and its only like a couple weeks old. TMP should have just made it a chase fig and not have put it in the original NFL 11 line-up. Then there wouldn't be threads about dealers not selling Smiths at original prices and then jacking them up finding out that they're so limited. I've been collecting for about a year and 1/2 now and never had any problems finding regulars from any of the latest series. I picked up 2 Moss's for a friend at work and sold it to him at cost. He's a Raiders fan. I expected it to be like that for Smith because its a regular. I know its a capitalist society, buy low sell for as much as you can get, cost and demand, blah!blah! So I don't blame dealers for selling them for that much. It just sucks though because they got NH bradys for New England fans, Error Tiki's for NY fans, JJ Jones Turkeys for Dallas fans, but those are all chase pieces to cover those major fan bases. For us Niner fans we get a reg that's going through the roof right now that was suppose to be what it is a REG!!! There are good dealers though like Anthony(CapitalSports) who could of jacked up prices but didn't. I missed out, but I know some boardies got hooked up on his Smiths because he priced them as they are regulars. Just my opinion though.
