I have 2 Knicks Francis for trade. Need Francis Rockets (both) and other Houston chases or any other chases, just let me know what you have.
Shaotime, I need that #24 Kobe, let me know what you need.
If anybody has an extra Reggie Bush or finds one at the store, let me know.

To anyone that needs one: there were 2 Knicks Francis at the Swee****er TRU this morning.

Found an entire case of NBA Legends 2 with Isiah chase at 1960 Toys R Us. If anybody needs the Isiah, I'll let it go for cost or a regular Reggie Bush. Seriously, I can't find this figure anywhere. There were three cases of NFL 14 at Toys R Us and not a single chase or Reggie Bush in stock. Are these things even making it out of the stock room?

That is true, but I think that everything Bush-related is hot right now. If any of you find yourself in New Orleans for any reason, stop by the TRU in Metarie. I bought 2 Reggies out of a bin that was filled with 30-40 Bush figures.

La,
As an Humble resident also, have you ever found anything at the TRU? I've tried going in the mornings when I can and there's always a guy there in a yellow Ford Ranger. I wish I had his schedule!

Blake,
I've just about given up on that place. I can't remember the last time that I actually found something there that I was searching for. I check it every now and then, but I haven't had any success, even though I did see a Knicks Francis there before heading out of town for Christmas.

Hey guys. I'm stuck with 2 NFL 14 Polamalu's (neither is snowy), 1 Alexander, and 1 Steve Smith from my case.
I hate to do this, but I need to get them out of the house. If I take them to TRU with no receipt, can I get store credit for them? Just tell them they were gifts, but I had them already.
Thanks for the info.

Nope, no can do Tim. I just called TRU yesterday asking them the same thing and they need to have a gift receipt. If you don't have that then you;ll need specific info like who bought them, cash or cc and a name so they can sort through all the receipts n the system. Try SWM, last time I took something to them they took it back with no problem and just issued me store credit...and yes, they were sp's :D

Hey, I'll be there at the show. Any interest if I bring a white Leinart and a Falcons Deion (2nd version)?
I'm just looking to trade them for several others (Brooks Robinson, Michael Bennett, Antonio Gates reg, Reggie Bush reg, Colts Vinatieri, Saints Brees, and Ronnie Lott Raiders). I'd be willing to toss in cash to even out the deal for whatever you have from this list.

Since you two were the only ones selling Sportspics I hope it was to your benefit. However, since you were the only ones selling them, what does that say about collecting them. They seem to be dieing. What do you think!
Several things, genius:
1. The Tri-Star show this January had a weak autograph lineup, so that keeps many sellers and customers away from the show. Weak auto lineups usually translates into weak attendance. The last show I went to had our two boardies and another guy selling SPs, and the Steves (the Houston guys) were taking him to the cleaners because he wanted $20 for a peg warmer. That, and he was a tool, anyway.
2. Sadly, the Tri-Star shows aren't what they used to be. I've been going to them since the early 1990's and they've gotten smaller and smaller every time. The fact that our local guys can clean up at a small show such as the one this past weekend illustrates that there is still some interest in SPs, despite TMP lineup choices getting stale or outright disappointing. More than likely it was the 'casual' consumer who did the bulk of purchasing, but there are many dedicated collectors who dumped buckets of cash into the Steves collective lap this past weekend. One example of SP disappointment - almost the entire 2007 SP lineup, with the exception of NFL Legends 3, is utter crap.
3. Please review the widely accepted (but poorly promoted) grammar and punctuation rules.
I do see what you're saying about the state of the hobby - it's been better, and is unfortunately getting worse. I still like it, even though the lineups for this year (in my opinion) are disappointing. Collecting SPs has been more fun in the past, and I still will collect them. Due to recent financial restructuring (my wife left her job to go back to school full time for a role as a nurse practitioner/anesthesiologist), I will be collecting far less, but will remain interested - despite lackluster offerings this year.
Also, with the increasing difficulty of finding SPs at retail stores (Toys R Us, a select few Wal-Marts, and specialty/hobby shops is all that I can recall), it's hurting the hobby badly. It makes sense that interest is dwindling, but I don't imagine that TMP would continue to produce SPs if people weren't buying them, that's not good business. Sadly, they continue to make NBA and NHL SPs, which are the first to go in the clearance bin, followed by MLB:(
I see what you're saying overall, but it's a tad unfair to direct your statements at these two upstanding boardies, isn't it?

First of all supergenius, er, supertim, this was not a slam. I know Texas33 (Steve) personally and it was a sincere statement that I hoped that they did a large volume of sales this weekend! The point of my statement is that I'm concerned with the state of Sportspics. As you stated, the availability and player selection is not good. I've collected sports figures since 1990, so I'm probably not going to stop. This was just a simple question to them asking what they thought about the hobby. By the way, I was a customer of theirs this weekend and would have bought even more, but they didn't have the ones I was looking for. Don't be so defensive or read something into the posts that isn't there.

I guess the wording of your original post was misleading, bulldogs. Going back over it, I can see where it can be seen as a slam, but I can also see how it's more of an observation/question.
In addition, the day that I read your post was not the best day for me, so I was a little harsh on you, when I could have been otherwise.
Just to add to my previous post - I was on business yesterday and stopped at TRU on FM 1960 just to see if they still had jack squat, which they did. The SP section still has MLB 14 3-5 figs deep on 3 pegs:eek::eek::eek:
They also had a bunch of SuperBowl XL 2-packs.
I know that series 14 was a TRU exclusive, but damn. It's nearly been a year and they're still not even on clearance. I expect the same with MLB 17, as well. Not good, TMP. Not good.

Supertim and others, well is it down to just Toys-R-Us? I live about 60 miles south of Houston and there are none, zero, zilch, places that sell Sportspics. It's very frustrating to go store to store (Super Wal-Marts, Targets, Hastings, etc.) and find nothing. I can't afford to buy everything from dealers or Ebay, since my "want list" is too large. I used to enjoy the "hunt" a few years ago, but for the most part, it doesn't exist anymore.
supertim
01-24-2007, 12:59 PM
I think it is pretty much down to TRU, random Wally Worlds, and hobby shops. Obviously, the internet is a little more convenient on time, but not $$$. On the whole, TRU has basically become the exclusive brick and mortar retailer for Sportspicks, as well as the rest of TMP figures.
I got excited when I found a Titans Mawae at TRU a few months ago, only to later learn that TRUs were getting them by the boatload, that it was not special at all. Haven't seen an Orange Brooks, though. I even got toyblocked at a TRU in San Antonio last fall - by the employees!
It's more fun to hunt for other figs (Justice League,Star Wars, or Disney's Cars, for example) - at least people have more of a chance to find those at retail than SPs.
I miss the good ol' days of NFL 1-5. Since Series 6, the downward spiral has progressed significantly.

I pretty much only go to TRU now for SPs. The only SP I've gotten from WM recently was the CE Clemens. I get the chases I want by either trading or ebay and the regulars I buy from TRU. NBA all the way!!
Until Vince Young comes out - then I'll prob need a solid case of VY since most of my friends are UT grads.

Don't worry guys, we didn't take that post as a slam. I completely understand where you're coming from. To answer your question though, yes while the Tri-Show had a pretty weak line-up than usual this time it was probably our best show to date! :D
As I stated before that fact that we were the only dealers at the show played a major part in that I'm sure. As to why we were the only ones there, I have no clue. To be honest with you guys both Damasher and I were pleasantly shocked to find out that was the case after walking the floor to confirm it. However we don't plan on being that lucky come June when they do the annual summer show.
Other than that fact, as to why we did so well can be attributed to our steady repeat customer base and the "casual" customer as Tim pointed out. First of all, we've been doing these shows for so long now that people already know we're going to be there, it's a given. You can almost say they just about expect us to be there. That being the case I also know quite a few of them save up their money just to spend a good chunk of it specifically at our booth.
Also, while we may not be the cheapest on everything I believe we charge fair prices on the majority of our pieces which helps us out tremendously. Now granted, we're not going to give you a white Reggie Bush for $20 but we will try and work with you the best we can and try to give you a fair deal. I mean after all, that one person may go back and tell someone about how we treated them right and gave them a good deal which in turn translates to more business and so on and so on. And we all know that word of mouth is the best advertisement out there, bar none!!!
Another point on that is that Steve and I don't do these shows to get "rich". We are still collectors, first and foremost. We originally started doing these shows to move out extra figs we don't want then it just started to gain momentum and we just rode the wave to what it is today. If we did these shows to get "rich" more than likely we would no longer be doing these shows. I mean this is nothing but a hobby for us. We both have steady 9-5's and do this because we enjoy it.
The other reason why we do well is because of the "casual" collector. The majority of these people have no idea what a SP is and some of them have never even seen or heard about them until they come across our table. They're usually a hardcore team or player collector and have to have everything related to that team or person. However I also know that once they see the SP's it's pretty much over, most of the time...lol :D They get hooked on them and we'll see them at the next show generally asking for/buying more figures.
Lastly, there's a very small portion of people that buy the figures for their children. That's the main reason we have a "Bargain Box", no fig higher than $8. Those figures are generally older figures(chase and regs) or have a damage to the package. Alot of children at these shows want something but the parents won't shell out the big bucks for a higher end fig so they just pull from the bargain box. Fyi, I noticed at this that the bargain box went over bettter than it did last time so I'm sure that will be a staple at our table from now on.
As for the state of SP's, I do think it's been better in the past. After S5 football they just started producing way to much product and flooding the market. I mean take a look at S8 and S9 football for example, you can find them for dirt cheap including the chase and they still sit collecting dust. You can't even give some of that stuff away. However I do think that McFarlane realized this and is one of the reasons he's cut back on overproducing and making chase figs for every figure in the line. It was taking a toll on the hobby, cheapening the product and creating a downward spiral overall but now I don't think as much. While I believe it still isn't as hot as it could be or once was I don't think it'll go the route of SLU's and just dissappear. To me it seems it's kinda starting to level out. There will always be someone out there that wants this product, trust me :spawnorb:
Almost forgot, for those of you that don't know we do have a website, www.sportsfigs.net . If you're looking for something check it out, you may be surprised. If not, drop us a line and we'll do our best to get it for you :D

Once again Houston people I'm going to remind you that you have a crook among you. Texas33 (Steve C.) has owed me a figure since 2004 and certainly seems like he has no intention of paying up. He admits that he owes me the figure and asks for my want list, then i provided it and don't hear from him again until I remind him that he owes me the figure.
This is ridiculous. We were "trade friends" and had several very successful deals. Because of that I gave him a Nabokov chase, David Carr Super Bowl Exclusive and Forsberg Nords Retro for a couple regs and a Curt Schilling 2 chase. It is now 2007 and he has not given me the Schilling 2 Chase. I provided him again with my want list this morning, but the last time I provided him the list in July NOTHING was done on his end.
Texas33 calls people out and acts like he is a perfect trader, but Steve simply refuses to give me what he has owed me for YEARS.
Can you guys please help me keep this bumped :)

NIGHTCRAWLER...I have a Reliant Energy question (tried to send via PM, but your inbox is full):
Quick question...you referred me to the Secure Plan for 2007 awhile back.
In May 2006, I signed up for it. I was already on the balanced billing plan (Mar'06-Feb'07 cycle), so my payment didn't get reduced.
I'm thinking that my usage cost for Mar'06-Feb'07 (reduced by 3% from May-Dec'06 and 5% from Jan-Feb'07) will be used to come up with my current balanced billing payment for Mar'07-Feb'08. Correct?
Then I'd imagine that the 5% kwh reduction for Mar'07-Dec'07 would be used to calculate the next billing cycle.
Thanks for any info you can give me. I'm just wondering when I'll see the benefits of this plan!

What's up with the empty shelves at the all the stores?
This may help you out Chip: I know one the Swee****er TRU Managers and he told me they've had inventory recently so nothing goes in or out of the warehouse during that time. Also he said it generally takes about 6-12 weeks after Christmas before the stores start getting inventory back in. Why, I don't know. Seems a little long if you ask me but judging by the shelves I'd have to say he's not lying to me.
All I know is my son is getting tired of waiting for the 30th Anniversary Star Wars stuff to hit. It was supposed to come out in Feb but like everything else it got pushed back to 3/5

Since there seems to be growing interest in Cooperstown cases this time around I just want to let you all know what's going on. My distributor expects them in the week of the
5th. He's only getting a limited run so if you want to lock down a case lmk asap! I've already heard from a couple of you so for the rest of you...speak up...lol! :D They're going to be $115 dlvd. No shipping charge, we'll just set up a place to meet. That seems to have worked best for everybody so far, especially since we're all local. So if you're interested, either drop me or Damasher a pm or just send us an email at sales@sportsfigs.net :)

Cooperstown 4 has hit town. Left work late last night after a rugby game and stopped by TRU, Bunker Hill. The doors were closing as I got there and I guess it was the manager let me in. I told him if they had what I wanted it wouldn't take long.
I picked up a Joe D, Williams, Smith, Bench and Maris. I left the Carlton. In addition to the Carlton, there was 2 Joe D's, 2 Williams and one Smith left. I guess the stock boy had already gotten his hands on the chase which doesn't bother me because I got what I went for.

Awesome, you'll fit in just fine here as we have some other guys that also collect ML and Transformers. I do Sp's but help my oldest bot with his SW's collection so I guess you can say I do that to, sorta :D
One word of advice though and we tell this to all the new guys here, don't ever leave a chase hanging(right Chip?), no matter waht it is. Chances are someone here can use it. If not, you can always use it for trade bait or if anything just return it but it rarely ever gets to that point...lol!

Thanks for hookin' up with me today Mark. It took forever but better late than never, eh ;)
Josh-It's funny you say that because I was thinking about that yesterday. Back in the day we used to meet up about once a month or so at various locations and do just that, swap figs. I usually organized them but then it just kinda fizzled out, unfortunately. It was cool because everyone got what they wanted, we could put faces to screen names and we all just got to know each other. It just made the hobby more fun and much more "personal". It was kinda a "guys day out" type deal. Plus it gave us a chance to get away from the wives and kiddies...lol!
I know we all have busy lives with work, family, etc but if we could get something like that going again I'd definitely be in for it :D

Galveston posts are good!! Let us know whats going on down there.....
Hey Les, George R. Brown is couple blocks South of Minute Maid Park, downtown in Houston, Bellaire is a little west , outside 610, but can't help you out with the China-town, but someone here should know....
Steve- this board would make it easy to arrange, we can pick a few hours out of a Sat. or Sun. afternoon, once a month. Just talking to everyone yesterday, gives you a good opportunity to find things around town you might be looking for, (like you said) puts faces to screen-names, and could save us all on shipping on top of an already expensive hobby!
We'll get it together, feel free to post any additional ideas...

Being one of the only resident asians on this thread I think this question falls in my area. The GRB is downtown right next to Minute Maid Park. Technically there isn't a China Town on Bellaire. By the way, if you ask for directions make sure you specify you want Bellaire St. If you don't more than likely you'll get directions to the city of Bellaire ;)
There is a China Town downtown about 5 minutes from the GRB but if I were you I'd go to Bellaire St. where all the restaurants and shops are at. The asian part of Bellaire starts a little before Ranchester and runs quite a ways down almost all the way to Hwy 6. Also if you're wanting to find a good place to eat I highly suggest restaurant called Tan Tan(Ranchester @ Bellaire). It's good food at a good price and not "Americanized" like it is at some places around here.
If you need anything else feel free to ask :D

OK, thanks for the advice but I have a few more questions.
One of my cousins happens to run a cafe named May Chieu and from what he told me, it was near Daily Ashford and Bellaire. It is something of a drive especially with Houston traffic, but I do not mind it. I was wondering how close that cafe is to Kim Son restaurant. I have not been to it in ten years and have been dying to eat there again.

If I recall correctly, May Chieu is at Bellaire and Cook - 1 block east of Dairy Ashford. Which Kim Son are you referring to? There are several in the Houston area.

No its not. It is one that was a givaway to the first 10,000 fans during an Astros game last year. The roof comes off but it's not tin. I'll try to post a pic when I get home. i also have a couple of mini Minute Maid replicas.

Just a guess here, but you're prob referring to the Kim Son downtown. It'd take you a good 20-25 min to get to May Chieu from downtown. There is, however, a new Kim Son that opened on Bellaire within the past year. It's on Bellaire between Beltway 8 and Wilcrest, about 5 min from May Chieu. I've only had their buffet once so I can't tell you if the food is the same as the one downtown (never been to that one).
How much is admission to Anime Matsura? I've always wanted to check out something like that. Cosplay is pretty cool.

Anime Matsuri is $45 for the whole weekend. Cosplay is OK as long as it is someone who looks decent and sporting a decent outfit which is definitely in the minority at anime conventions.
I am just going to see friends I seldom see, and get an autograph from Peter Cullen, the guy who did the voice for Optimus Prime in the original Transformers.

Btw, Damasher are the owners of Sportsfigs.net, just in case you didn't know. You beat me to posting this to. I normally post about Tri-Star about two weeks in advance and give everyone the run down. What's up all. Just wanted to drop a quick note that my son was born two weeks ago (and two weeks early). He's healthy and happy. I swear I saw him eyeing my wall of SPs and drooling a little over the thought of one day chewing on the low hanging ones. I can't decide if 36 is too old to collect toys or have a kid. Never too old!
I haven't been on the boards much in the last month or so. Not really hunting for much either due to extra work and less time on the weekends. Good to see some new peeps on this thread. Someone noted earlier about a monthly get together to talk SPs, sports, etc. I'd be all for it.

Alright kids, after talking with with a few of you with all positive feedback and mulling over this for a while I'm going to try and set up a "swap" meet. Hopefully we can turn this into a monthly/bi-monthly deal like it was back in the day :D Also I know this is a busy month for alot of us and that Tri-Star is right around the corner so I'm going to try and work this to the best of my ability so it fits in to all of our schedules.
Tentively right now the meeting spot is going to be on Westheimer somewhere since that seems to be the center point for the majority of us. I'm in Stafford and know alot of you are up North so that locale just makes the best sense. I was thinking at a restaurant around the TRU over there, maybe Mama's Cafe or Chili's.
Now here's where I need everyone's input. The questions are below with my thoughts on each one.
-What day would you all prefer? Personally I prefer Sunday since that's my "do nothing" day usually
-What time? (I prefer early to mid-afternoon)
-When would you like to do this? (I'm thinking 5/27)
-Where would you like to meet?
-How many of you can make it?
Those are the main questions. When you reply please be sure to add you're "want lists" so we all know what to check our inventories for. Also if any of you have any suggestions or idea that I might not have mentioned please feel free to throw them out there...ROCK ON! :spawnorb:

Allright, now this sounds good! As long as we get some support from everybody, I don't see any reason why it won't work out for everyone!
Sundays are good for me
Early afternoon, between 11-2 would be good
I think May 20th might be better (27th is Memorial Day Weekend)
Any of those locations are good for me, I think I will be driving the furthest anyways!
It would be cool if we can make this thing work! Who's next?

I could use a little advice from Houston people. Later this summer the girlfriend and I were thinking about going to an Astros game. I wanted to surprise her and make a weekend out of it, since I know she wants to see the Houston Zoo and the aquarium as well. And no doubt if she finds out we have two days, she'll want to go to the Galleria.
What's a decent hotel that's either by the aquarium or the ballpark? And is there any kind of nightlife down there? I'm not too familiar with downtown Houston. Usually whenever I'm in the city, its to go to one of the airports. Thanks :)

Sounds like a plan to me. As long as I've lived here I've yet to make down to Minute Maid Park:o The Zoo will be a good place to visit because they've just remodeled alot of it so it's alot nicer than it was....I should know becaue my youngest loves going there. So much so we had to nut up and buy a membership to save us some moola...lol!
As for the hotels, there's the Hilton Americas(SB 38 NFL HQ) across the way from the ball field, literally. It's a very nice hotel but I'm sure on the high side. There's also The Four Seasons across from that. Another nice hotel but again, on the high side. If it were me though I'd splurge and stay at the Hilton :D There are a couple of others but those are the main two.
On the night life,it's all there depending on what you want. Downtown H-town has changed quite a bit in the last few years for the better. If you all like clubbing or bar-hopping there's more choices than you can shake a stick at. Just remember the majority of it is on Main St. Just ask the concierge and they'll point you in the right direction. Take a cab because it's less than a five minute drive so the fare won't be hardly anything. On the way home do the same because by that time I'm sure you'll be in no condition to walk back to the hotel anyways :p

Nightlife just depends on what you are looking for. There are plenty of bars within walking distance of each other. Sambuca Jazz Cafe (909 Texas Ave) is a nice place to go, plus it's surrounded by tons of other waterin' holes.
My wife and I stayed at Inn At The Ballpark for a couple of nights and it was awesome. Pricey, but awesome. Very close to the ballpark (duh:) ), aquarium, convention center, etcetera. Check it out http://www.innattheballpark.com (http://www.innattheballpark.com/)
Incidentally, the Inn At The Ballpark is on the same street as Sambuca, etcetera. The Inn is also next to Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse...delicious and dressy...jacket required. Oh yeah, obvioulsy expensive. My brother went there for a meeting and loved the food.
If you love seared animal flesh (and who doesn't), you must check out Fogo de Chao... http://www.fogodechao.com/locations/houstonTX.htm
It's a Portuguese restaurant that will bring you all varieties of meat to devour until you tell them otherwise. Awesome. Hope your lady's not a vegan. Fogo de Chao is located on Westheimer Road, which is near the Houston Galleria (Nieman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, etc). There's also a Fox Sports Grill located in Galleria III. Pretty decent food and atmosphere, considering that Tim McCarver is the bartender;)
If you and your girl like to act like kids while drinking, go to Dave and Buster's (.com) located at 6010 Richmond Avenue.
If you two like Italian, a place I like to go is called The Spaghetti Warehouse, and it's at 901 Commerce Street, which isn't too far from the ballpark. Look it up at http://www.meatballs.com
Hard Rock Cafe is in the 500 block of Texas Avenue, adjacent to the Verizon Wireless Theater, which always has some sort of act coming through, whether it be bands, extreme fighting, or comedians.
All of this sexy information I'm laying out for you is all pretty close to each other.
So go have fun and tell us how everything goes. Hope the 'Stros win for a change:o;):)

I'm in the process of doing inventory right now for the show and I didn't realize how much stuff we actually have guys. So if you're looking to fill any holes in the collection or a hard to find piece stop on by. I'm sure there's a pretty good chance we're going to have it! :D

I'll be there on Saturday...still looking for a decently priced Raiders Lott and a Colts Vinatieri. I'm also interested in a SB Jason Taylor if the price is right.
see you then.

Chris Burke is signing at the show? Isn't he in the minors now, where he belongs?
If he's the second baseman of our future, then I gotta wear shades to hide my eyes from the 7-8 lineup punch of Burke and Everett, helping get us deep into the postseason:rolleyes:
Don't mean to be negative, just been in a funk, lately. I'm right, though. That's all I'm sayin' :D

Texas33, do you guys have a white Lundqvist? Your website is down so I can't see what you have.
I'm disappointed in you guys. Only two people want to go to an Astros game?

Mike, I went to a game earlier in the month (we actually won, beating AZ 10-4), and I have tickets for the Bagwell Retired Number Ceremony game on 8/26. Unless they start acting like a team in the near future, the game in August will be my last one for the year.
Right now, we ought to play the Yankees in the 2007 Worst Series.
I'm not fairweather - lifelong 'Stros fan, but when I'm mad at my team, I'm mad until they start playing like they give a shlt.

I'm down to meet at an Astros game. On Fridays they have coca-cola value nights. 4tickets, 4hotdogs, and 4drinks for $60.
Texas 33, or Damasher I plan on going to the show Fri. or Sat. Could you get me in so I can spend more money on SP's:D PM me and let me know.

Will-We have all 3 of those currently in stock :D
Tim-I wouldn't suggest a tie unless it's required. Go comfortable yet casual, but not to casual. Maybe some nice jeans, nice shoes(not tennis) and a nice polo or button up :)
Mike-I'm definitely down for a Stros game. Been here all my life and yet to make out to Minute Maid Park if you can belive that :o As for the Lundqvist, I know Steve had one last time but not sure if he still does. I was actually supposed to pick one up yesterday but forgot to call my buddy. If you still need it after the show lmk because I'll be going to get it and a few other chase figs he has for me :D
Mark-That can be arranged I'm sure. Give either one of us a shout when you get there ;)

Yeah, I have tickets for the game tomorrow and I barely want to go. It was just the first thing that came to my mind for a group outing.

Thanks, Steve. No, a jacket's not required, but I figured that nice slacks and a button up sans tie would do, possible nice jeans + nice button up. Tennies are a definite no-no, though:)
Hope you guys have another good show!
Here's a crazy idea. How about we all get together and go to an Astros game? Tickets aren't that expensive and it should be easy to get tickets sitting next to each other. Especially with the way the Astros are playing:p .
I'm down.

Big thanks go out to the 2 Steves today for giving me a hell of a deal on the Raiders Lott, SB Taylor, and Colts Vinatieri figs.
I still can't believe that one guy in the corner was openly *****ing about how your low prices were ruining the market. I'm surprised he sold a single figure all day long.

No problem Will, anytime buddy!
As for the guy from Chicago, he always does that so we're used to it.He even went over to Troutkillers table today and did the same thing. We pay him no mind. Although you did miss the fun today when him and I kinda got into a bit this afternoon. Question, if you call someone an idiot, do you really think they're just going to sit there and take it? .....good answer, I didn't think you would.

Tim-How was Seinfeld?
Steve - Seinfeld was spot on just like always...we thought he was all sauced up when he came out on stage...he sort of slid on the stage with his arms out like he was a kid pretending to be an airplane, and he slurred his speech a bit. That was only the first minute or two, though.
It was fitting that my wife & myself, my older brother and sister-in-law went out for the first time, and likely the last time, all by ourselves. Our nephews would always tag along, which was fine, but it was nice to have adult conversation for once. Since my brother got a HUGE promotion and is moving to St. Louis:eek: of all places, my wife and I decided that his congratulatory gift would be dinner and Seinfeld. He tried to pay for dinner and I wouldn't let him, and I told him not to bother with the tix...I bought 4 tix to the show, but paid for 5 of them. All the service charges and fees combined added up to one whole ticket - I hate Ticketmaster:mad:
Besides, he can repay me when me and the wife go up to visit him in the spring and summer...I plan on sitting in some sexy corporate seats at Busch Stadium when the 'Stros are up there playing the 'Cards:D
Seinfeld had some really good bits...I know it's a tad late, but his cell phone bit was hilarious...how people get all desperate sounding when their battery is running low when they're on a call with someone..."listen, I don't know how much time I have left..."
He talked about how people go out to events, like going to see a show (not a movie), to make themselves feel better about their own lives. "I thought my life sucked, but this guy's life really sucks."
Other 'nothing' bits like "Your life sucks. My life sucks. Granted, not as much as yours, but it still sucks."
Other stuff..."no matter what you think, nobody wants to go to your wedding."
"It's on a Saturday of all things...our weekend is ruined!"
Thanks for asking, Steve. All of us had a good time together last week.

I found it at Hastings, which once in awhile gets SPs...but never entire cases, just whatever their warehouse sends them in a particular shipment. They had 2 Howard, a Rivera, and the Hoffman. I picked up a Howard and the Hoffman...for $15 a pop:( I was hoping I could unload the Hoffman for a Wright with an excellent paint app, but I hear a lot of the Wright's are having pinstripe issues...

I would have picked up a Wright, but the two that I saw were not MOMC!! 1 had major clamshell damage and the other had a horrible paint app. I did manage to pick up R. Howard. I ordered a Hoffman from TRU today, hopefully I get one near MOMC.

I found a Wright at TRU in Waco, TX this afternoon (I was up there for work).
They had a Webb, 2-3 Howard, at least 4 Papi's, and some Rivera's.
The Hoffman is still available if anyone is interested. Check my wants link in my sig for ideas:D

Saw MLB 18 at the Bunker Hill TRU today. They had everyone but Verlander and no chases. I picked up a David Ortiz. The pacakging is terrible, even those none were badly damaged. The pain apps on the Wright and Howard are awful too with the pinstripes. Now the facial sculpts on this series are pretty damn good I gotta say.
There was a White Jersey Eric Chavez sitting there so I picked it up. It's up for trade if anyone needs. Maybe time for another H-Town pow-wow again soon?
Here's my list of junk I 'm getting rid of.
