Where's Chip been?

Chip is alive and kicking! I've been busy trying to get everything in order because I'm buying a new house. 2000 square foot 1 story 3 bed rooms, so now I can have a Transformers/Star Wars room and a SP's room. Along with all sorts of other man stuff around the house!

Hey guys. What's the deal with the gold coins? I keep my eyes open when I'm out hunting but I left a gold coin Bigs pilot suit and some purple colored clone trooper. Should I be picking these up for the guys who collect?

I would BG, those are equivalent to SP chase figures but only for Star Wars. Same odds I believe, 1 to a case. I would ask you to pick that Galactic Marine up for my son but we just found one yesterday at Target :D

Dude, I don't even have a computer at work so surfing the web is definitely out...lol! What I need is a job like yours, driving around all day in a company truck, a/c blasting and getting off at lunch time :p

Do you need mint cards Blake because I saw Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow over the weekend but the cards were all bent up. I thought of you but wasn't sure if you needed mint or not :confused:

Yeah, they just got released this year and are releasing wave 3 as we speak. They are original cards with modernized sculpts. I managed to pick up all of the older ones except for Flint and the Cobra Officer. They seem to be a little rare. I thought I'd ask around locally to see if anyone else was picking them up like the SW figs. I suppose good ol' ebay will scratch my itch!

Definitely mint cards for now. I already picked up those two figs. I think they were released in both wave 1 and 2 so they're everywhere.

OT: I have a question for you guys. I was talking to a local boardie the other day and we were throwing ideas around on how to make extra money. I mentioned that I painted a few of the rooms in my house. I liked it and thought it was rather easy but just time consuming. He then put the idea of possibly doing it on the side for some extra cash. I never really thought about it until he said that.
My question to you guys is, do you all think there is a big enough market out there for me to even consider doing something like this? I know on my side of town(Ft. Bend) and where my in-laws live(Bear Creek) they're building neighborhoods like crazy. I also know that alot of people like the idea of painting their rooms but don't want to put out the effort to do so.
Now, I'm not talking a full blown operation here, just a little deal to supplement my income. Just specializing in painting rooms, inside only. Doing things like color changes, custom paint, two-tone, etc to start off with. I've attached a link that shows the rooms I painted in my home to give you all an idea of what kind of work I do. Take a look kids and plmk what you all think :D

I'm looking to buy a house soon and am trying to think of anything I can do to help me get there a little faster. If you all have any ideas I'm all ears ;)

A couple years ago, we paid a guy $500 to paint 2 rooms and replace a window sill that my dog had gnawed on.

There's definitely some money to be had in that arena. When we have Baby #2 on the way, we'll probably be looking to have at least 1 and probably 2 rooms painted again.

I went to Wal-mart last night and scored 2 Rockets Malones! I'm beginning to think that this is not a true chase with all these cases of Malones hitting. I havent had a chance to hit TRU, have any of you guys found a 12" Payton?
I was actually able to find a Masterpiece Starscream @ Wal-mart. I think I got lucky because he was hidden in the clearance section. Sorry Chip, there was only one.

I want to say that the one in the front was blue, but I don't pay much attention to 12" figures. Sorry.

I just remembered seeing a few Paytons and remembering that they were new. I actually didn't even know that they made an alternate jersey.

fyi- I went by the Bunker Hill TrU just now looking for NFL 16, no dice. They had 3 white 12" Paytons, 0 blue. They also had 1 ea. of the Chi and Den team sets.

I guess someone snagged it because it was there when I stopped by this morning.

The manager there is a friend of mine and he was telling me about or week or two. He's always straight with me so I trust what he says :)

Glad you were able to get some of the figs. The 2 TO's that were there when I found the figs were not in great shape package-wise.
The 3 I bought (Gore, Bailey, Quinn) really look good from a paint standpoint. I left that god-awful McNair until I have no others to buy.

I mostly would like to work out some type of trade (even or trade + small $) for a Crosby variant.

I dont have much trade stuff, since I mostly collect Pittsburgh and Houston figs, but I also have a Sapp Chase (Series 10), Vick variant (Series 7 - not sure how many would be interested), Ricky Williams 2 variant (Series 10), and a Matt Leinart (Series 13).

Willing to do a possible multiple fig trade for the Fanaca also, if/when someone gets one.

As of last night around 6pm, there were 4-5 Rockets Malones at the WM on I-45 @ Louetta. I grabbed one of them. It seems like these are pretty easy to find around town, but I thought I'd share the info anyways.

Also, I found a blue Aikman at a SportsClips (of all places!) in the Woodlands the other day while getting a haircut. I saw it from far away and figured they would have jacked the price up if it was still hanging there, but it was only $15. I snagged it and opened it up!

Sportclips, you're kidding right? ....now that's one place I would've never, ever thought of seeing a SP :confused:

Also, no Series 16 NFL at Bunker Hill or Westheimer TRU today. I did find a 12in blue Payton at Westheimer though and yes, I did pick it up for a fellow boardie.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised about the chase figure at SporsClips. They usually just have 3-4 regular figs on the rack. They had a VY reg and a couple others at the Woodlands location.

EDIT: They also had a couple of 12" white Paytons and, for all you Drew Bledsoe fans, a slew of last years Cowboys 3-packs.

I think it was someone's stash or kept in the back because it was the only one and there were'nt any this morning when we stopped by.

I'm not sure if there was another TO. The TO that I grabbed was on the top peg whereas most of the NFL 16 was lower down. I think it was the only TO.

Steve, I saw 3 of the Eagles 3-packs this afternoon at TRU. I was pissed that I wasn't able to buy any of the Cowboys 3-packs because the paint was soooooo crappy. I did pick up the RB 3-pack tho.

Bedrock Comics on 1960 and Veterans Memorial had a Niners 3 pack last Wednesday.

If anyone has an extra good quality Cowboys 3-pack please let me know.

Hey guys.. any of y'all been to a Texans game before?

I'm travelling down to Houston and taking my dad to the Texans-Broncos game on the 13th -- it'll be his first NFL game! Was wondering if y'all had any recommendations for thing to do or see before the game (bars, tailgating, parking, etc...)

Took him to a Rockets game last year and he had a great time meeting the cheerleaders and stuff :p ;)

Tailgating should be off the hook since it's a night game. South side of the Stadium is where you want to be. Bands playing etc right inside the gates on the south side. Go to the blue platinum lot that is in the south parking lot close to the stadium. There really isn't much to do around Reliant Park. As far as parking, if you don't have a pass, your pretty much walking a mile or two. I would take a taxi from where your staying.

***UPDATE***

Finally found a Leader Class Optimus Prime today at SWM. These things are sold out everywhere and are like finding a needle in a hay stack. Must've been someone's stash or something because it was the only one they had.
The ony ones I need now are

-Starscream
-Iron Hide

I can't wait until he opens this Optimus. It's going to really make his day :D

Hey Steve! Yeah, it really has been a long@$$ time since I've been on this thread. Got lucky and found a VY chase @ TRU Woodlands and TRU 1960 these last couple of weeks...

I got your PM...that'll work. Do you know anyone who needs one (or a pair) of the MLB 18 Hoffman chase? If not, and I feel like a jerk about this, they'll be going to toys for tots. What if the kid hates baseball, especially now with the Mitchell Report? Hell, it could totally backfire and get the kid interested in baseball altogether. Probably not, though...MLB's not EXTREME!!!!

For clarification, I don't feel like a jerk donating to Toys For Tots - it's one of my favorite things to do, but donating an SP doesn't sit too well with me for some reason. I've got some G.I. Joe and JLU stuff that I'll be donating, so at least that's something, right? :o

I am so thoroughly disgusted at the pose choice for El Caballo. It is and has always been a bad sculpt but to use it for a player, a HEAVIER player, who is an average fielder at best and is known for HITTING home runs. He does have some popularity outside of H-Town and if he was going to be a re-used pose at least make it worth buying.

Agreed. I will not be purchasing a Carlos Lee SP at all. Hell, I don't even want it. It SUCKS and its LAME.

hey Blake, you must have missed Carlos on the latest "Biggest Loser". He dropped about 50 lbs...so that new figure is more accurate than you think!....:D j/k - he's still fat, and you couldn't be more right about the horrible choice of sculpt....I was thinking we'd see something along the lines of Prince Fielder's fig, (although Prince is left handed I think)

olny had one case of 8 figs. i went back today and they had one case out.I found an Retro Terry.It had 1 bosh,3 james, retro terry :eek:, 1 pierce, 2 shaq. No Howard.
