On my way back from Austin on Sunday, saw a bunch of NFL Wave 1 at the Katy Mills TRU. At least half the facemasks looked pretty bad... a few weren't even connected to the helmet. But I picked up a nice-looking Bush to customize into Steve Slaton.

I believe I saw a full case of NBA Legends today at TRU. That is if the cases are still 8 figs per.

They are really tiny in person. The Dr J is maybe half the size of his first release and I think I'm being generous. The good news for our resident NBA collector is that the detail is great.

I've got to say, if TMP can actually stick to a scale and big players like Ware are noticeably bigger than players like Tomlinson then it may actually add to the realism of the series.

Mark, did you find those Jordan's today?

Will, I agree with the ASV figs being almost caricature-ish but I think that's what makes me appreciate UD's efforts. To be different but still appealing to the collector.

Every one is considerably tiny when compared to older series. The good news is that they all seem to be in proportion to one another. Although there wasn't a Webb in the bunch I saw.

Made a trip to Dallas this week for work. Came back with a D. Ware reg, 2 Jake Peavy chases, Tarkenton tweak, Addai tweak, Romo tweak, and a Lambert tweak opener. All were from TRU except Ware who was at a WM in Ennis. They only had him from Wave 2 and I didn't see a tweak. Aside from a few minor paint issues on the one I bought, it is a great looking fig. Also saw a tweak Jacobs at KB but left it there. Not interested in $12.99 a fig.

WM FM 1960 near Kuykendahl had the Hester.

The WM on I-45 in Spring had a bunch of Legends, but no Wave 2. I'll probably hit up the WM on 2920 and Kuykendahl tomorrow, but they never have anything new (I think I saw a Shaq Heat figure there recently).

Kudos to WM. Picked up a near mint chase Brady and reg LT this morning and they were $6.96 apiece. All of the packages were in great shape so they must have been put out today.

The Big Ben may be the fugliest fig of all time. The pants aside, his helmet/head is half the size it should be.

Still looking for Parker and Hester chases if anyone happens across an extra.

Weird...I was going to post something similar from my venture to WM today. I found a Peterson on the I-45 WM in Spring. It was on the $9.63 rack, but it rang up at $6.96.

I'm still on the lookout for Ware and LT if any of you guys see them somewhere.

They had a lot at the WM there. I saw a Peterson and a Hester, along with a bunch of Wave 1 as well. I'm not familiar with the tweaks though so I can't confirm if any of them were tweaks. I tried to look on the back of the Peterson/Hester to see if I could spot anything different on the figures, but I didn't see anything.

Hester is really obvious. The bands around his forearms are a blue color.
The Peterson is kind of like the Parker. The tape around his wrists is black instead of white.

YPC is relative to the number of carries. The question would be whether Slaton could keep it up getting the number of carries Forte gets. 4.1 is still respectable for a feature back.

P.S. I'm unbiased not having any allegiance to either NFL team, other than having both on my fantasy team. :p So if anything, I'm rooting for both of them to be equally good. :D

well, you are partially right....YPC is relative to # of carries because it's and average of how many yards per carry, which is why Slaton would not need the number of carries that Forte or Peterson gets to show his production. 4.1 is very respectable, but along way from 5.0. Looks like you have 2 good rb's on your team, hopefully a keeper-league!

Found a green Jets Favre tonight at 1960 TRU. Was this Wave 3? I thought it was, but there was no sign of any other Wave 3 figures, and then I went to the TRU in the Woodlands and they had 3 unopened cases of Wave 2 about to be put out.

Maybe the Favre was inserted into late Wave 2 cases?

The guy gave me a nice price for an Elton Brand 2 so you may wanna check it out. They also have a few Wares, which I have yet to see in stores.

Yeah, I thought this was odd as well. I went by this store on my way home from work yesterday at 6pm and I couldn't even find empty pegs for them.

I've looked the last couple of days as well and never saw them or a designated spot for them.
I saw a boardie post some DCPI #'s on another thead so I called Target and asked if they had any in stock. They showed 8 in stock so I went there and they had to get them from the back. I picked up the Barbers and the 3" LT.
Here is the DCPI #'s:

For some reason the DCPI #'s for the 3-pack show whats in stock the 6" figs and vise versa at the Target in Spring.

The McFarlane stuff was not put out yet, they had to get them from the back. I only picked up the Barber figs and the 3" LT. The rest should be in the back(2 Favres, 1 Cutler, 1 Driver tweak, and 1 Portis). They also have like 8 3-packs in the back and a case of 3" figs.

Ok Mark. Share again how you got the Target employee to bring the case out of the back so you could have your pick.

One day last week, not sure which day, I stopped into Target in Humble. There was 2 Barbers, a Cutler, and a Driver. I realized that the way they set the peg/hangers for the figs that they only put out 4 of 8 figs because there wasn't enough space except on the bottom peg. Dumb*** me left both Barbers because each had issues. Went back the next day and both were gone leaving only the Cutler and Driver.
I've been in that store almost everyday since then and finally yesterday asked an employee if they had anymore of the case. The guy gets his scanner and says it reads they have 6. Cutler, Driver and the 4 I knew they hadn't put out. I asked the guy if there was any way I could see what the other 4 figs were and he was not interested in digging out the remaining case. Instead he tells me they are due 2 trucks next week and should be more to put out.
I walk in there today and what's on the shelf? Cutler, Driver, and 2 Favres. Gone is the last Barber and what I'm assuming was the Portis chase.:mad:

Saw 2 cases of NFL wave 1 last night at the Spring Walmart and the WM on I-45. Both cases had R.Bush clean tweak. WM increased the price because they were $9.93 instead of $6.36. I picked up 1of the Bush figs and left the rest.

I'm always around. McFarlane has been disappointing so I don't have much to collect from them. The only things that I plan on getting this year so far from McFarlane are the 12" Barry Sanders and the Guitar Hero Slash figures.

I have all 3 HT Iron Man armors on preorder. I've never owned a Hot Toys figure before so after I get the Mark III, I'll decide if I keep my orders on the other two.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Damasher and I will be doing the Tri-Star show this weekend at the GRB, www.tristarproductions.com. This will more than likely be my last one(not sure about Steve M) so everyone come out if you can and say hey! I've been doing these shows for over a decade(Damasher for about 5 if I remember correctly) but every ride must come to an end, unfortunately. Time to turn my focus elsewhere plus the fact McF just isn't producing the same product as before are the main factors in my decision. The Target I stopped at the other day has only had one case so far. One of the guys there told me a little over a week ago that they were supposed to get 2 trucks last week that were pretty much nothing but toys and seasonal items to refill their shelves. So far, still only one case but I still have hope.

Agreed - the pegs are empty. TRU-Sugar Land had about 5 NHL figs, 2 figs from NBA 15, 5 MLB figs and a bunch of super-old Andruw Jones. Looks like this TRU is getting in only 1 case of NBA so I'll probably be shopping online when NBA 2009 Wave 1 gets released. I need multiples of T-Mac and Durant.

I think Denver is the team to beat, guys...not the Lakers. They have a nice balance of offense (Melo, J.R. Smith, Billups) and defense (Billups, Martin, and Birdman), they are incredibly deep, they have a nice balanced inside/outside game, and they get to the FT line.

The only negatives I can think of is that their coach is George Karl and they have little playoff experience is a team (although Billups may solve that problem).

I think they can beat the Lakers, Rockets, and Mavs in a 7-game series (coming from a Mavs fan).

Sorry Josh! I grew up in LA in the 80's, was a hard core Laker honk. Still to this day I can stand anything to do with the Celtics. Its too bad too because I liked KG, but now he has traded his soul to win a championship. I've been in H-town for about 16 years, and now I am definetely a Rockets fan so this series is difficult for me. I still think the Lakers will win, but wont be dissapointed if the Rockets take it. Even the NBA publicly admits the Mavs shouldn't be swept...not that it matters. I could care less whether the Mavs get swept or if they lose 4-3. 20 years from now I won't remember what the series finished unless they won it and kept on advancing. Losing 4-0 or 4-3 is still losing, and it sucks just the same.

Like I said, Denver is playing better than the Lakers right now, and they could very easily beat the Lakers next round. I'm sure we'll find out.

I already mentioned how I was glad Dallas avoided Denver in the 1st round...because I thought San Antonio would be an easy matchup and I thought Denver would be a tough out. I was hoping New Orleans would do that, but that wasn't even close to happening. You can say that I'm just making that up after the fact, but who would you rather have played (a Ginobili-less Spurs team or a Nuggets team on fire)?

Denver's just playing out of this world right now...Billups has really elevated that team to a contender. John Hollinger wrote an article on ESPN this weekend about how Denver could challenge the Lakers. I'm guessing you guys think he's a Mavs fan too, right?


And it doesn't always make sense to root for a team that beats yours. Are you really going to be pulling for the Lakers if they beat the Rockets in this series? I doubt it. I'm not even pulling for the Nuggets...I just think they have a chance at throwing a wrench into the Cavs/Lakers series the NBA is hoping for.

Me saying that I feel a team that I'm not even a fan of can get to the NBA finals is not bashing every other team out there. You guys have been the ones to bring up the Mavs time and again. I'm just talking about the local team since that's what I hear and see most of the time.

Like I said, if you think that somebody saying that a team "can" beat a team in the playoffs is bashing, then you are too sensitive. That's not bashing...saying "Rockets suck" or there's no way the Rockets will win is bashing in my mind.

Awesome...more Mavs talk generated by you. I don't think the Kidd trade was bad because I don't think Devin Harris would have made a difference either in terms of playoff success. He plays like a scared little boy when it's crunch time, and maybe he'll eventually get over that, but the clock is ticking with Dirk. The goal is to win a championship, not have the same result or make it just slightly further. I'll capitalize the next sentence so that you don't just glaze over it though: I DON'T THINK THE KIDD TRADE WAS GOOD EITHER! I think it was a lateral move made out of desperation. It didn't work, but it's not like it drastically set the franchise back in terms of eliminating championships or even great chances at a championship.

We'll have to see how the cap situation plays out after next season as I know a lot of other teams are clearing space. I think even the Rockets will have cleared out space for 2010 with McGrady's contract expiring and Yao's deal expiring. I heard on the radio today a discussion of whether or not to extend Yao given his injury issues and the fact that the team seems to play well without him.

Don't get me wrong. The Cowboys and the Mavs both have good owners who care about putting a winning product on the floor. However, they both need to stop trying to run the teams that they own. They clearly don't know what they're doing (same with the Redskins and Raiders).

The Mavs don't know what defense is and Jones likes to destroy team chemistry just to be in the news by signing the biggest star available. The price they paid for R. Williams still has me shaking my head. He'd need about 120 receptions and 16 TDs to be worth what they paid for him.
