Well guys I'm back from my trip. It was a nice little break from Houston, everyone and everything. The show was fun and I met quite a few of the Dallas guys. Even Jeremy(SpursFan) from College Station came by to say hi. I can't believe how fast the sp's moved. Yes, even the MLB :eek: All in all it was fun and everything turned out great!

Hi fellas,
Ran across the street during lunch today to my local GS. They rec'vd a case of NBA4 yesterday and hadn't put it out yet...one fig missing from the case, and 11 regs still there.
I have to be honest, I was quite underwhelmed with this series...let's see, we had Kidd (er I mean Rose), Pierce (er I mean Wagner), Brown (er I mean O Neal, and Allen? (er I mean Stoudemire)...I don't know, I know McFarlane can't create a new sculpt for each and every player, but all 4 in just a 4 figure set are used sculpts? No adrenaline rush from me on this series...I left all 11 of them there.
At least they got to master the tattoo effects on these guys....

Is it just me? CMON NFL 6 and 7!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:

So NBA 4 has finally hit. I'm glad but I'm a little ticked at McF because out of 4 cases so far not one has a variant...***?! :mad: What the hell is up with they're assortments? MLB 5 second wave cases are loaded and NBA 4 cases are empty. I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. If I keep trying to figure the method to this madness my brain's going to explode!

On a good note though, NHL 5 sets are finally available...WOOHOO!!! I can't wait to crack my sets open :D Just outta curiousity, is anyone in town besides me getting this set?

He can't find the purple Moss and the gold series 1 Kobe Bryant that. He is offereing to replace those 2 with 2 of the following: Opened white Vick, Opened Tomlinson,White Paul Pierce, alex rodriguez blue variant, sammy sosa grey
variant, ichiro gray variants 1 and 2, pedro martinez grey variant, manny
ramirez white variant,nomar garciappara grey variant, barry bonds ser.2 white . Which 2 do you think I should go for?
I am thinking the Bonds probably and 1 other. I am an NFL guy and have both Vick and Tomlinson, so I would probably be using these 2 figures to trade.

Steve (Damasher)....How the he#@ can this guy "not find" the figures that you already paid him for? That's a big load of stinkin crap right there! He owes you the figures you agreed to...if he didn't have them in hand, he should not have taken your money in my opinion. It's his responsibility to own up to his end of your deal. He need to get your Moss and Kobe.
I guess it also depends on other circumstances though...do you know him? Was it Ebay? If you don't know him, etc, it sucks, but you're probably better off just taking whatever you can (Bonds/Vick)...if you don't know this guy and make a stink, you'll probably just end up with nothing. Sorry to hear it. Good luck!

Well guys, I decided to hit the Hwy 6 FM today. I hadn't been there in a couple weeks so why not, right? Glad I went because it looked like our ole buddy Val has been busy. He had quite a bit of old NFL, including a complete set of NFL 1. So being in the buying mood today I picked up a few figs. Not a bad day of shopping if I do say so myself. Also here's an fyi for you guys. You all know I do sports shows whenever I can. Well I've been thinking about it for a while now and I'll be opening up an online store in the near future specifically geared towards SP's. If it goes well I'll expand into other sports type figures such as Mezco as well trading cards. Also I will be selling cases, but I plan on focusing more towards singles, chase and variants. I'm not quite set on the price structure but I can tell you it'll be close to retail. Since you all live in or around the Houston area you won't have to worry about shipping charges ;)I'll let you guys know more as it develops.

Steve-I've gotcha covered like white on rice brotha! You have a Raiders Rice, Harrison, and Culpepper headed your way my friend. Possibly a George as well. Well no new pickups for me since NBA 4 hit the GS's last week. Although some of the ones I normally go to haven't received their shipments yet so that's what I'm waiting on. I'm still not sure how much of this I'm going to get though. Gotta watch how I spend now since I'm about to do this online store pretty soon.

Dane-After 4 days of trying to get through I finally made it today. Your balance is a whopping $12. I did get screwed(somewhat)though. I only ordered 1 set and it marked me down for 2. My wife was just checking our bank account and asked me about it. If she didn't say I wouldn've never known :mad: It looks like they still have some bugs to work out.

Nascar: No. Popular "sport", but I don't think it's going to go over big in the SportsPick line.
Most of: The safest no-brainer would be NFL.
Least of: Look at your local stores, what's warming the pegs....MLB.
Pre-ordering: Sure, only if you're damn sure that you will have adequate supply, and have the right programs to keep track of sales months in advance.
Most I'd pay for a reg: Would vary greatly depending on the piece. Assuming you're talking newly released lines...I wouldn't pay more than I could buy them for at GameStop to be honest.
Last question: Probably not...I've managed to get all the regs without ordering online so far.

NASACAR--NO, I agree with Dane. Maybe see how the first run goes then decide after that.

Ordering--Agree with Dane again. NFL most, prob MLB least

Most Pay for reg--12.99 or same as GS

Well MLB 6 is here guys. I went out today and scored an Indians Thome and grey Edmonds(that are already spoken for). I know Matt did pretty well today as well and got himself a Clemens repaint and grey Ishii.

Also don't bother checking the SW side or the Sugarland area. I just called all the GS's in the area and apparently someone is doing a sweep today. As a matter of fact, I just got off the phone with the Kirkwood/Westheimer store and the clerk told me the guy was there waiting for the shipment. Went hunting yesterday since I finally took a day off for the 1st time in 3 weeks. Hit 2 TRU's, no 2-packs yet. Hit the GS on north 45, nothing, but this was at 10am. Came back to my neck of the woods, hit my GS about 1pm, UPS pulls up right behind me.

Roy was able to get an insider tip on the NFL 2pk and was able to get one for him and I :D other than that I checked with 5 targets this morning no luck, they did not show any in stock. So either they will not get them or just haven't yet.

My TRUs and Wallys still have a crap load of MLB5 clogging the pegs so who knows if and when they will be able to put out NBA4/MLB6

Wow, looks like the thread is finally back to it's old self and moving right along! Since the 2-pack seems to be the subject of choice right now I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents worth. I hit the Super Target on Hwy 6 & 59 and scored me a case of 2-packs...woohoo! I gave the worker the dpci code, he looked it up in the scanner looking thing he was holding and walked to the back. Came out 2 minutes later with a new case in hand. That brings my count to 3 :D

Matt-Looks like your brother has been taking care of ya pretty good. What are you gonna do with seven 2-packs? Would you consider giving any of them up for the mlb I've got for you? Sorry I missed your calls this weekend. I was at a Fantasy football draft all day yesterday and did not have my phone with me. Today, i was working on the baby's room. I was pretty happy with myself,I had put up a bunch of shelves in the room a month or 2 ago, but i got home last night and my wife told the big 8 foot shelve ripped off the wall and came crashing down(piece of crap wall anchors)! I guess better now, then when the room is occupied. Spent most of today taking care of that situation.
As far as those figs you have for me, I can pick them up from your wife sometime this week, or meet up with you during the week. Let me know what works best for you.

Well guys, an update from me. My wife is doing well with the baby. November 9th can't get here soon enough. We're ready to be parents! As far as collecting goes, all I need to complete my COMPLETE baseball sets are a Cubs Maddux, MLB6 White Sweeney, Pirates Bonds, MLB5 White Ichiro, MLB6 Mariners A-Rod, and Pinstripe Sosa (pending?). If anyone finds or has any of these, keep me in mind ;) !

Bought Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers yesterday. Watched it for the 4th time (first time on DVD) over the course of 2 days between Cubs vs Cards games on my MLB Extra Innings. Freaking fantastic! I love this movie and can not wait for Return of the King! I so want to start collecting the LotR figures, but my wife would kill me and I know my checkbook can't handle it. Anyways, later fellas!

Guys, speaking of wives putting up w/this...I have never really displayed any of my figs, due to having 3 kids and no real good space for it. Most have been boxed up, and I had a few tacked to the wall in my closet :rolleyes: . So, I decided I couldn't take it anymore, so in honor of the upcoming season, I made an executive decision, and put them all up, in order from Series 1 thorugh 5...all my NFL figs...on our bedroom wall! She comes upstairs asking what I've been doing up there so long, I tell her "You don't wanna know!" So she walks in and sees the display and starts cracking up laughing...she thinks I'm a dork. My two daughters said "Daddy has Barbies!" Anyway, it turned into a fun event for the whole family! tongue.gif

So I call GS on Holcombe yesterday at 2pm. "Yes, we're getting MLB7 today, but it is not in yet. Call back at 4." So, 3:15 rolls around and I call because I'm leaving work. "Yes, it is here." My response, "Can you hold the case for me, I'll be there in 15 minutes." Reply, "Sure." Low and behold when I get to said GS, 9 figures are sitting behind the counter. I inquire as to where the remaining 3 figures are and the response is as follows: "Oh, some guy bought 3 figures about 7 or 10 minutes before you walked in." :mad: ??????!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I struck out, am VERY pissed, and MLB7 variant-less (except for the greatness of Texas33). I mean, I don't mind if you sell figures to the first person there, but don't lie to me on the phone!
