Good win for NC State, but they will have a tough time beating Wake and UNC...they have a long road to climb before any NCAA talk can begin...there are no gimmes left on their schedule :

I think NC State would be happy to go 3-2 in that stretch. In order to make the NCAA tournament, though, they will AT LEAST need to win 4/5 of those games and then they will still be 8-8 (ACC) and 18-11 (ALL)...their BEST wins are at GA Tech, at Maryland...they will make a good run in the NIT unless they WIN the ACC tournament. Just my honest opinion...

I like Sendek, though...I think he has done a good job, and I also think NC State is playing better, but they lost to Wake Forest by 11 DESPITE shooting 63 % in the game...that is kinda scary, 'cause they won't be shooting 63% in many games...

Totally agree!! If anyone hears of any events or signings in NC we need to let each other know. Ricky Proehl holds a golf tournament every year in greensboro. In the past few years I have gotten M Faulk (although he is very tough), K Warner, T Holt, A Hakim, A Crumpler and M Muhammad. When I get more info on this years event I will let you guys know.I didn't hear until Monday! We've got to keep each other informed a bit better... Nice Haul Zubaslava

The autos were free. I had him sign 4 cards at first, then went back later, and had him sign a Chargers Powder Blue Throwback, a State mini-helmet, and a jersey card.

Not selling any of them though. Sorry, it's one of my pet peeves. If someone takes the time go give me an autograph, I feel like I don't have the right to make a profit off it.

Call it karma or whatever. I've been lucky enough to get alot of the biggest names in sports, all for free (Jordan, Marino, Ripken, Gretzky, Lemieux, Messier, etc...). And I'd never sell any of those autos...

Now, certified autos where the player has been compensated are a different thing altogether...

Torry Holt has his golf tournament in Raleigh every April. You can go to his web site, and find info about it there as it gets closer. Usually has a lot of State alums, and plenty of Rams.

The Duke Childrens Hospital golf tournament is in the spring as well, Used to have alot of great names, but has slacked off in recent years (scored Marino there one year!).

What a game tonight...State finally played to their potential tonight. Atsur and Hodge completly shut down Gillcrest on offense and defense. Evtimov was on fire....now if we can run the table so we can get into the tourney.

Sweet revenge for Duke last night. Man was JJ on fire, career high 38 points. Couldn't see or here the game last night because our sattelite was out and it didn't come on Dukes radio station. Needless to say I was very pissed. I had to keep updating the Yahoo box score to the game. What was the reason for Ewing not starting and Randolph not getting hardly any playing time last night? Anyway, nice play from Melchionni, Love and Nelson players who will need to have good games for Duke to have a shot at beating teams like Wake and UNC.

Boogie, I take it you were the one who took back the Palmeiro Rangers and the Orioles Tejada to TRU in g'ville. I think it was Saturday I picked them up from there.

It's all good - just glad a collector got to them before a scalper. But good looking out, I needed the Odom. I have ordered 2 cases - but they have not arrived, but with the talk of 0-1 Maggettes and/or Odom's per case I figured I'd pick them up if I found them at retail - just in case. With the exception of the AI chase (and from the case breakdowns I have seen) once my cases arrive I should have the entire set. So those of you that have PMed me and let me know which chases you are looking for, there is a good chance that one may be comming your way :D

Congratulations Tar Heel fans. It's been a while since they've had that feeling I see. I would hope not to see one trip and fall into those bonfires they are jumping over. Sean May is a beast on the glass...I think he has a total of 40 boards in 2 games vs. Duke this year. They did a good job on Re**** holding him scoreless in the second half also. I thought that last 3 was going down but it had to rim out. Another classic game just too bad the shoe was on the other foot this time for Duke fans. 1-1...hope to meet again in the ACC tourny.

it was a great game. duke is unreal this year. critics of coach k have argued that anyone can win with the talent he has year in and year out. this year he has proven to any doubters why he is one of the greatest coaches. he develops styles that suit whatever talent he has, and God only knows how he motivates those guys. duke has had unc's number for 8 or 9 years now. 15-3 against the heels in the last 18. the crazy thing is that k is now 30-31 against unc in his career. as a carolina grad i love the victory tonight, but i love the way duke plays. as much as i hate to admit it, those bastards have more heart and guts than any team. if the acc tourney was one game, duke would win it against anyone. if the ncaa tourney was one game, duke would win against anyone.

Characterizing Wake Forest as "dirty" is unfair. Calling Chris Paul "dirty" is completely justified, however. He really needs to calm down and gain some poise, and he will be unstoppable. I am glad he got suspended for the 1st Round ACC Tourney game. He deserves it. Wake as a team, however, is not "dirty". Too bad that some State fans started chanting "We killed your Grandfather" last night as well. That really reflects VERY poorly on NC State fans, most of whom I know are respectable...almost makes Duke fans seem okay...

Bottom line is that it won't matter if he sits out, as Wake has the depth to beat either NCSU or FSU without him.

Duke was equally as bad the last 3 minutes. If they made a couple of those they more than likely would have won. I nearly threw my hat through my livingroom wall after one of Nelson's misses. Or was it Williams? Both had a couple of chances to pretty much seal the game but came up empty on both trys.

I heard about the Paul/Hodge incident but haven't seen it yet. I really liked Paul up until the past couple of weeks. Didn't really care for his criticism or whining to the press about players guarding him are pushing off a week ago. Justin Gray didn't either as he disagreed with Pauls comments.
And how hard was the hit to the groin he gave Hodge? I know Hodge is one of the ACC's best trash talkers but that was unjustified. Well at least he did give a token apology and admit what he done today after denying it last night. He's a great player but really needs to take a chill pill at the moment.

also i was in the student section, which is obviously the most harsh of sections, and while standing there the entire time, i never once heard anything negative about pauls grandfather. the first time i heard it was on the internet. either it came from the other end, which was opposite wakes bench. Just a heads up, Sam Mills of the Carolina Panthers will be coming to Fayetteville State University to speak on March 17 at 7:30 pm in Capel Arena. Good win for NC State tonight. Paul sitting out because of his own foolishness really hurt Wake. Hopefully he has learned his lesson now and will take it out on everyone with his play in the NCAA tourney. I think they will still get a #1 seed though, #2 at the very worst.

called the tech win yesterday after the quarterfinals. although i thought it would be elder that would have killed us. never expected bynum...that bastard! i am glad to see tech playing well. if they can get healthy and use big luke, they can be a really good team. i am glad to see state playing well. if those guys carry it on in the ncaa, it will look great for the acc, cause you know the devils and the deacons are going to bring it. it seems like the heels had 9 lives in that game today. i don't think we are playing that poorly, simply not shooting well. hopefully all 5 teams from the acc can kick some arse in the big dance!!

Fenwayp...I checked out both of the Wal*Mart's in Winston-Salem yesterday as well as the Target store but nothing. The only new product they had were the NASCAR 2 series (I think). It is the series with Kevin Harvick because they had a bunch of them. I do not collect racing so therefore I do not keep up with them.

I have not seen series 2 in either of those places. The TRU in Fayetteville had quite a few on Fri- 2 Stargell, 2 Ruth, 1 Schmidt, 1 Hunter (Which I bought), 1 Mays and I believe 1 Ripken. If anyone needs any of these, I can swing by there tomm. after work and see what they have.

P.S. It looks like we have 5 teams in the tourney. But one isn't making it out of the 1st rd in the UNC-C/NC St. game. UNC has a very tough bracket, this should be an interesting tourney.

Pete Gillen is out as Virginia's coach after seven years, ESPN.com's Andy Katz has learned.

The Cavaliers finished the season 14-15. Gillen and the school are negotiating a settlement with an official announcement expected later Monday or Tuesday.

Virginia finished last in the ACC with a 4-12 record and suffered its first losing season since 1998-99, Gillen's first year at the school.

Gillen, 57, leaves the Cavaliers program with a 118-93 record. He has a career 392-221 record in 20 seasons at Xavier, Providence and Virginia.

Well with the help of a few boardies, I've finally completed my collection. As of now, I own every Chiefs SP ever made. All 3 Priest Holmes SP's from Series 6 & 9, Trent Green reg/variant, along with Rich Gannon Retro. The newest additions to my collection isnt something that is worth a lot of money, but something I considered a personal "Grail". It took me a while to find one that was perfect, they should fit nicely next to this....

I didn't see but a few minutes of the NCST/UNCC game and from what I saw NCST was looking pretty good. I had picked UNCC to win. I should have known better the way UNCC has been going down hill and how NCST had been playing lately. It doesn't mess my brackets up to much because I had UNCC losing in the 2nd rd. Also, we have a good one for right now, Duke 12-Delaware St 14. Don't know how long it will stay like that though.

Hey guys...is there anyone here on the NC board who enjoys fantasy baseball ? I am the commissioner of a FREE Yahoo Fantasy Baseball League that is Rotisserie Style. There is NO COST to play at all, and we have a Live Online Draft starting at 9PM ET on Friday, April 1. We currently have 10 teams, and would like to get at least 12 and a max of 14. Most of those currently in the league are friends of mine from college and we have been playing in this type league for a while. It is purely for fun, and the only thing we require is that owners be active and not ever give up on their teams. Stats are updated daily and you can purchase a StatTracker for live updates for $9.99 for the whole season. You have to have a Yahoo ID (this is free if you don't already have one) to play.
