i heard that people were offering $350 for two reynolds chairs, cause they werent able to get them. thats crazy. although they said you cant sell it on the internet, meaning ebay, i bet they will show up soon. their is no way ncsu could make ebay pull an auction. i think they were just blowing smoke.

didn't even bother with alot of the events of the weekend. I DID go to the equipment sale. Picked up 5 football jerseys and 1 basketball warmup (hoping to get Hodge to sign it this week).

Here's what REALLY sucked about the sale...

Starting at 8am, Wolfpack club members were able to start buying stuff. I got there REALLY early, just in case I could get in (which I didn't). But, I did see people coming in and out all morning with handfuls of stuff. Most of the Reynolds chairs went to them. What they had left of the chairs sold out in about 15 minutes. Also, the whole jersey/clothing thing sucked overall. There was such a cluster**ck of people there that if you didn't get there right away, it was tough.

All in all, State dropped the ball with how they handled it. They could have had things MUCH more structured than they did. Plus, seeing all those Wolfpack club people walking in and out only served to really tick people off.

Oh, according to the PR guy for Torry Holt, they are talking about opening the golf tournament to the public starting next year.

Oh yeah, I did a small run this weekend, and picked up a Gretzky and Bossy Legends chase figs.

Got the Bossy from TRU at Crabtree, and the Gretzky from Gamestop at Northgate.

Looks like Cary and Durham TRU's got theirs too, but were already picked over. Same with the other Gamestops...

FYI... Briar Creek Gamestop is no longer carrying figs. Talked to the manager the other day, and he said they didn't have room for them. Scratch another store off the list!

I live in Fayetteville during the week. Let's see we have 2 Wal-Marts-one by mall, one in Spring Lake, Target-about 2 miles past the mall, Toys-R-Us-right across from the mall and KB Toys in the mall. Those are the only spots I know of. Anyone got any others? By the way, the Wal-Mart by the mall had MLB Cooperstown yesterday-Catfish, Schmidt, Ripken, Mays and Ruth.

Hey all you UNC fans!

I live here in STL and might be able to get access to some of the actual banners that were used around the Dome during the Final Four weekend ... If I can, is anybody interested? I don't have any pictures of what the look like, but they are 30" wide and 84" long! Made of satin (blue on one side, gold on the other) and they sport the Final Four logo. I think they'd run about $100 each. If you're interested in getting one, send me a PM asap and I'll see what I can do when the opportunity is made available. Obviously I'll need to have an accurate count on how many I to get going in. Also, I'll need to have payment upfront (for any who remember, I don't want to have another incident like the infamous Antawn Jamison trophy fiasco with ajamisonmavs!)

Did anyone catch the Pat Tillman Tribute on ESPN Classic last night? It was very good and very informative. Well, I'm getting ready to watch the Draft (hopefully the Panthers have some good picks and some local guys do well), heading out to the Mudcats game tonight and than home to catch the last of the race.

As for the Tillman tribute, that was very interesting to watch. I have ALOT of respect for what he did.

Sat afternoon bump! No toast and coke, but did have pizza for breakfast!

I can never keep you 2 figured out as far as who is who - Zuba and BigDKel - I see you guys set up at the shows, and I have run in to you guys at a few local stores. Saw one of you at the Crabtree TRU on Thursday. I heard they had Series 2 NHL Legends and I went to see what was left. All they had on the pegs were Gretzkys and Corneyeur. When I went to the register the clerk and I started talking about the figs and I mentioned the goalie would be the hardest to find. He was like, we have some over there and ended up pulling some out of the top shelf. Got 2 reg Fuhr's, 1 for my son's collection and the other for either customs or trade. Ended up finding all 6 and went ahead and bought 1 of each. But one of the brother's left a blue Bossy. I picked it up, even though I am not a chase collector. Hell, the only other variant I have is the white Francis. Any how just wanted to throw that out and say it was good seeing ya!

I will be posting a few pics of this custom Irbe I am almost finished with - I know one of you guys are tight with Archie, but my son is a huge Irbe fan and I plan on doing a custom of each of Archie's teams. Do any of you guys have extra Osgood's or Cloutier's?

Oh by the way, I just got back from the Mudcats game, Bazardo had a perfect game till the 5th I believe and a no-hitter going through 6. Ended the game giving up 2 runs on 3 hits while the Mudcats put up 8 runs on 13 hits. They have a very good team this year, 12-3 on the year.

Yeah I think they could definelty do it. In Denver I think it has a lot to do with their O-line as well. You can put a decent back in there and they will put up yards partly because of the line they have there.

Crabtree Vally Holiday Inn is located right near the Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh. I believe it's on the opposite side of the mall than Toys R Us is located. for the love of all things holy, what the heck is wrong with espn. why are they pumping the dang nationals all the time. this is the second monday night game where the great game is NOT being shown. who is responsible for this, is it local time warner or does espn decide what region gets what game. the first monday night game was the yanks and sox, and now my precious braves/mets game one and smoltz v. pedro is getting bumped in this area for another crusty nationals game. quit trying to push these boys on us, they are the dang expos. they will develop a following in time, but to the diehard fans of the only southern mlb team around (besides the relatively new marlins and devil rays), give us the BRAVES!!!!!!! sorry fella's, just had to vent

Williams said last night that he will return next year for his senior season at Duke and will not enter the NBA Draft even to test his situation.

Williams, a 6-9 center, did think about entering the draft a year ahead of schedule but decided that he needed one more season of preparation for the NBA. He also wants to get his degree in sociology before leaving Duke.

Yea, I just saw on FOX50 that he is leaving "tomorrow for the NFL." He was disappointed that he was not drafted .... hurt even. I have one word for ya ........

Yeah, that and I heard he's not willing to hit the weight room, gets hurt too much, lacks speed, only left early because he wouldn't be elgible next year because of his grades and of course as mentioned his fumbles. Those are a lot of negatives, which is probably why he didn't get drafted. I would like to see him do well simply because he's a NC product and his brother goes to the high school I teach at.

Hey Biz!!!!!!! Thanks again for the heads up on the CHEAP figures at Gamestop. Picked up 9 figures for 40Bucks!!!! 2 Brodeur's - Alfredsson - Leetch - Sundin - and a couple of Gretzky's for the poses. I'm going to try and do a Ronnie Franchise with the Cup as a Penguin. I also got a Priest Holmes that I am going to do for my 20 year class reunion. Hopefully Donnell Woolford will be there. After we graduated he ended up playing 4 years with Clemson and then went to DA BEARS!

appst, but i grew up in the ville, and i graduated from terry sanford in 87. smith was our "city" rival, and use to smack our ***** in basketball. i grew up with a guy who went to smith, and then went to duke and played b-ball. cumberland county superintendent, dr. harrison, was my high school principal, and actually, i use him as a reference. i have mentioned this, i live in cary, and i teach and coach high school basketball, tennis and baseball in harnett county. it is good to see another good ole teacher on the nc board.

Here is a TRU update. I checked out both the TRU in Greensboro and Winston Salem over the weekend. They have the NHL Legends 2 series out. There were plenty of those around especially Wayne Gretzky. They were a couple of Fuhr's on the pegs too. No variants and no Esposito's. Nothing new in baseball and I do not think either of these stores ever got the Mays/Bonds two pack.

They say that there is no autograph signing at the Prouhl tournament this year, but I'm waiting for an answer back if you can walk the course to get autos or not. Plus I walked into the TRUS in Durham this morning about 11:30 looking for sps nothing new, then a guy comes around the corner with 2 cases of series 11 BB. I was like hot damn, he opens them up and no variants. I was like whats up with this. Being a Yankees fan got the A-Rod though.

Hey, I don't know any of the players showing, but I believe it's Thursday not Friday. I just looked at the Panthers site again and they have pictures from the Charleston stop and the Top Cats, Sir Purr, Chris Gamble, Keary Colbert, Drew Carter and Casey Cramer where all there. They will be on Fort Bragg May 11, I might try and get there if I'm not busy with football.

guys, i just checked the panthers sight, and i will try to answer my own question for myself. there were basically 12 different players at 3 different sights. peppers went to the myrtle beach caravan. there is a place to get autos of the players. i guess it is not possible to know the players coming to raleigh...

I just checked "my account" info too, and I also placed 3 orders. All 3 of which are "NOT FINALIZED" but they show that I paid for one order! I checked my bank account, and they got paid, but now they have cancelled my order....

I don't know what the deal is, but I doubt I will ever see a Deion figure now. I've emailed them, waiting on a reply. They either owe me both Deion figs, or they owe me about $30.00.

just a heads up, guys. i went to the insidepitch website and followed the link to buy tix for the peppers autos. i ended up calling the csa number b/c i was not sure how to create an account. the guy said i did not need to, that i could just fill in the info and pre-order auto ticket. i ended up just giving the info to him on the phone. he said all i had to do was to go to the will call window at the entrance, give them the info, and they would give me a receipt and ticket. if you want to get an early number, i would suggest doing this. i would really suggest doing it online, so you can print a receipt. he did not give me a confirmation number or anything, and i do not have obviously a printed receipt, but he told me the info to give at the window in order to get my ticket. i bought a flat of peppers and rivers. there will be 8x10s and 16x20s for sale there. anyway, just thought i would pass it on...

I waited 4 hours in line once for a Priest Holmes autograph. When I got to the front, there was a little table next to Priest. They said, it will be $65 for an auto mini. I already had the mini helmet in my hand (brought it from home). I yelled $65!! I'm not paying that much money for that! Priest looked at me when I yelled, and I told the "clerk". "Just meeting the man, who makes my Sunday's enjoyable is good enough for me".

When I got up to Priest, he put his hand out for the helmet. I grabbed his hand and shook it, and told him Thank you for what you do on sunday. He looked at me funny, and asked me if I wanted my helmet signed. I told him, I don't think it's fair to charge a die hard fan $65 for an autograph.

Cool deal KCfan... I know what you mean. I've been lucky enough to meet lots of atheletes over the years, and only once did I pay for an autograph ($25 for Rivers at the last show). For free, through the years, I've been able to get (all in person): Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan, Cal Ripken, Dan Marino, Mark Messier, Patrick Roy. Those are just some of the "elite". I've got thousands of autographs throughout the years.

I realize some people would just assume pay for the convenience, but I prefer the fact that I have a story behind every autograph. For instance, I have a signed Bulls authentic Jordan jersey. I got it years ago in Greenville at a golf tournament. While everyone was bothering Michael (who was not signing for anyone), I starting talking to his bodyguard. He told me that if Michael stops to sign, he would make sure I was taken care of. Sure enough, on the 17th hole, MJ stops, and motions to his bodyguard that he is going to sign some things. First thing the guard does is find me, and gets my jersey for MJ to sign. He ended up signing about 20 things, and mine was among them.

Same thing happened a few years later, except I actually got to shake MJ's hand, and thank him.

So, long-winded story, I prefer the chase, but can understand the convenience of it all too.

When I got up to Priest, he put his hand out for the helmet. I grabbed his hand and shook it, and told him Thank you for what you do on sunday. He looked at me funny, and asked me if I wanted my helmet signed. I told him, I don't think it's fair to charge a die hard fan $65 for an autograph.

Woo Hoo!! Just found out some good news today. I have off a whole week the beginning of June before football practice starts, I'm a PE teacher for those who don't know. So, I'm going to try and hit the Grasshoppers, Fayetteville Swampdogs (Coastal Plains) and Fayetteville Guard (NIFL) the beginning of the week, than my dad and I might try and head out to the western part of the state and see the Crawdads (Fri), Tourists (Sat) and Knights (Sun) the last part of the week. Then the week of July 4th I'm heading to Indiana and hope to see the Louisville Bats and to the Louisville Slugger Museum. It should be a good but busy summer with football practice and working taking up the schedule.

I'm waiting to hear back from Ray about a "back table". At $75 per table, I only decided on 1 table, and I can make much more money on cards than SP's these days. f I can get a second table to put behind me, I'll bring some SP's. If not, I doubt I'll bring any. But, on the bright side, that will mean plenty more selection for the Greensboro show.

I should find out later today, and will pass it along to everyone. I'd just hate for someone to come out for SP's from me, and I didn't bring them...

I am going to the show on Saturday. However I am not a collector of football autographs. I plan to get the autograph of Monte Irvin and that is about it. I love baseball history and that era in baseball really fascinates me.

I got Monte Irvin's autograph in person at a Cape Cod League Baseball Game back in the early 80's when I was about 13-14 years old, and I still have it ! I had little idea who he was at the time, but it is a good memory !

I used to get a lot of the Hall of Famers when they had the Crosby Golf Tournament at Tanglewood in Clemmons, NC. It was cancelled several years ago and since then, few Hall of Famers have any reason to venture into this part of the world.

I heard it myself...Adam Gold was interviewing Dwayne Washington yesterday afternoon (Wed) and Gold asked him how he had managed to get Barry Sanders to play in the golf charity event. Washington said "it's about relationships...Barry and I know each other, so I made a phone call and he said he could make it."
