nba legends at gamestops today? if anyone goes by, and they are in, let us know. i will stop by a couple today, and spread the word if they are in. i am going to the show today and definitely sat. for autos. hope to see some of you all out there.

Why did NCProShows change their website? I was checking on getting a table, and the last time I checked it had prices and dates. They no longer have the prices for setting up or any upcoming shows other than the 20th.

went by gamestop in fuquay on my way home, and the guy said legends is due in tomorrow. he also said that mlb 12 would be nothing but reserved cases for them. in other words, they will not get any unless someone reserves a case. pretty interesting...see ya at the card show

I have a case of NBA Legends reserved from that Gamestop. That must be the case he is talking about...I reserved it 2 months ago...They told me that they do not receive shipments on Saturday, though, and that it will be there on Monday. I checked tonight as well.

Just called them now and they confirmed that the my reserved case is due in on Monday, as they do not receive shipments on Saturday. I am going to reserve a case of MLB12 as well...

I heard it myself...Adam Gold was interviewing Dwayne Washington yesterday afternoon (Wed) and Gold asked him how he had managed to get Barry Sanders to play in the golf charity event. Washington said "it's about relationships...Barry and I know each other, so I made a phone call and he said he could make it."

thanks for the info fenway...i will take that bird chase if you don't want it...i cannot imagine you would want the bird reg or chase, huh? i really only want the dr.j fig like most people. he was my big time idol as a kid. growing up in nc, with no pro sports at the time, people generally latched on to the skins, the yanks and the celtics. i liked the cowboys, the sox, and the sixers, all for odd reasons. bobby jones went to unc and played for the sixers, so i started pulling for them, and of course, became a huge julius erving fan. i hope they have a chase for all those legends figs. how bout a dr.j in a nets? by the way, went to the cardshow today and there are alot of tables...alot of coins, but still alot of sports stuff...not many sp's at all.

The Bird (if it exists) chase is, of course, at the top of my list along with a Dr. J Nets chase, if it exists. I grew up in Boston and had season tix to the Celtics from the year before Bird was drafted on...what a run that was ! I loved Dr. J as well...a real class act. I have most every one of his old ABA cards which are awesome. If I come accross any duplicates, I will grab them for you. Do you want me to get any extra Bird regs or Erving regs for you if they have any ? Let me know ! I also like the looks of the Wilt figure in that set as well.

the show in raleigh was pretty good, i personally didnt get anything thou. they had about two full rows of coins, money, etc. peppers walked behing me when they moved him to the second floor. i thought he was taller, but he was still huge.

i was going to pick up an okafor sp rookie 20 but didnt, but did pick up some card savers so that i could send off some cards thats about the highlight of my show

I headed out to the show today. There were a lot of coin tables set up at this show. Peppers walked right by me when he left and that dude is huge, I'm 6'4", 320 pds. and he dwarfed me. I found some $2-3 UNC autographed cards-McInnis, Zwikker, L.C. Stevens, Okelajua, Forte and Leon Johnson. I also got a Gugliotta jersey card ,Eddie Goines auto card and bunch of 10 cent cards of mostly Panthers, NC basketball players. I also had a bargain buy, I got 6 baseball cubes to hold my minor league logo baseballs for $5, I got 6 of them. Most of the time these are like $2-$3 each and I got 6 for $5. All in all a pretty good show.

I just found out about the David Thompson signing-it's June 11 at Triangle Town Center at 2pm. To get your item autographed is $15, to get a vendor's item auto'd it's pretty high. Also the site says the signing is limited to 250 pieces. If anyone is going and could help me out I would appreciate it becasue I'll be up in Hickory for a Crawdads game, than to Asheville for a Tourists game.

good for mcfarlane to put out a dang nba case that everyone wants...those dr.j chases are awesome. got peppers and rivers autos yesterday at the show as well. did not buy anything else. i did get the peppers auto on a 16 by 20 pix, and it is sweet. got rivers to sign a pix for my nephew who is seven. he personalized it, which i thought was cool. i did feel strange, b/c he probably thought i was lying about personalizing it for my nephew. "yea right, chubby loser, it is probably for you but you just don't want to admit it." lots of coins at the show, but alot of cards as well. almost bit on a wade rookie auto, but held back.

I can help you guys with where it's at but not who's coming. TPC at Wakefield Plantation is on Falls of the Neuse Road in Wake Forest. If you are coming from Raleigh you can go straight down Falls of the Neuse or down Capital and hang a left onto Durant and hang a right onto Falls and it will be on the right. If you are coming from Wake Forest, get off at the Wake Forest exit and hang a right at the light. At the 3rd light you will hang a left, than hang a left onto Falls, there will be a lawn mower place on one side and a Forks/gas station on the other side and a house with horses across the street. You will go down about 2 miles and the course is on the left. I hope this helps.

I went to the show in Raleigh. A lot of tables and the prices were a little high especially on regular figures. I got Monte Irvin's autograph on a baseball and I met Buck O'Neill. I am a big fan of baseball history so that was exciting for me. I am a football fan but I do not collect football autographs. Julius Peppers walked by me while I was on the show floor. That is one big guy! Also while I was in the area, I went by FenwayP's favorite place...TRU at Crossroads Plaza in Cary. I picked up a Griffey, Jr. regular. I am a Reds' fan and I really wanted that one. Also Raymond Felton and Jawad Williams are going to be signing autographs at the Triangle Town Center on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh on Friday evening from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Felton's fee is $25 on any item and Williams is $15 on any item. It might be a good time to get a jersey autographed by Felton because if he makes it big in the NBA, his autograph will soar and will be impossible to get later.

Went to the D Washington golf tournament today and got to meet Bettis, Sanders and fellow NC boardmember Zubaslava. We got Bettis to sign a few items (I got a SP) and got our picture made with Barry. Because of an exclusive agreement, Barry could not sign any memorabilla. However, he did have a special HOF card with him that he signed & handed out to me and Zuba(enjoyed hanging out with you today). Did anyone else go and have good luck?

congrats kiapooh and zuba on the bettis and sanders. i am sure fenway will post, i went by gamestop in fuquay to get his sloppy seconds on the nba legends, and the guy told me it had been pushed back until the 21st...besides gamestop and tru, i am not really sure where to get any new sp's. the walmarts near me suck, and so do the targets. i have not checked any eb games.

Exactly...the date for the NBA Legends at that Gamestop was pushed back to 5/23 arrival, with a Friday 5/20 ship date (no Saturday delivery). Just checked on this this afternoon. Was a bit bummed because I am pumped up about this series ! Bizquit...sloppy seconds ?? If there are specific ones you want I can get them for you if you want and will sell them to you at that $12.99 price. Otherwise, I'll let you see what they have left. I will keep you posted if the date changes...

Glad to see that Barry Sanders was actually at the golf tourney...

Also, the Duke Children's Classic is coming up this weekend-I don't think I can make it because my grandparents are coming in from Indiana and we are celebrating my sister's birthday.

fenway, just trying to be funny with the sloppy seconds, man... i spend all day working with high schoolers, and maybe i have adapted their toilet humor!!! i have spent the last four years chasing figs getting everyone else's sloppy seconds, thirds and fourths. i go by there on my way home from work...i simply was hoping to land whichever ones you left behind in your case. i wouldn't even be too concerned about it, but i have simply not been able to find any new sp's lately other than at the gamestops. not even worried about chases, just want a erving regular to open and put on my desk at home. if you get one in that case, that would be great if you pick one up and i will definitely give you the sweet cash for it!!!

Hey guys, found this out yesterday, and it's quite interested for those of us in the Triangle...

There's a new manager at the Gamestop at Crabtree, and I called yesterday asking about NBA Legends. He told me that there were 2 cases reserved when they come in, and that HE is a collector, and reserved one case for himself.

Needless to say, we can cross that store off the list to find any variants!

Kinda funny how we just came right out and said that he was a collector.

got my deions today, and i am as crushed as my ravens primetime...the shell looks great except that the top inside of the shell is crushed, obviously making the outside of the top of the shell a little damaged!!!! all of that fuss over a damaged-shell figure. the falcons looks great. it is awesome to see a shell that does not have scuffs. those are some sweet figs.

Here is an autograph update....Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew is going to be at Knights Stadium (home of the Charlotte Knights) on Friday, May 27. The game begins at 7:15 P.M. I called the Knights office yesterday and it is confirmed that he will be signing autographs. However they do not know if he will be signing before the game, during the game, or after the game. The format is somewhat up in the air. I will update the board as soon as I find out. It is not everyday that we can catch a member of the 500 club so close and since he is being sponsored by Kingsford, I doubt if he will be charging. Even if he does, it will not be that much because his autograph is not that much in demand.

Also I understand that Curt Schilling has begun a rehab with the Pawtucket Red Sox. The Red Sox will be traveling to Durham next week for a four game series on Thursday night. I would love to see him pitch if he is making a rehab start during any of those games. Also, "The Big Hurt" Frank Thomas has begun a rehab with the Charlotte Knights. He is supposed to get at least 100 bats and he began his rehab on Monday. I am unsure if he went to bat last night but he did not get into the game on Monday night. Perhaps Killebrew and "The Big Hurt" in the same stadium in NC. Wow!!!

Thanks for the info icee, I would try to make it up there, but that is our last day of school. I would love to get Killebrew's autograph though, since I just decided to try and get an autographed ball or memborbilia card from every living HOFer. I might have to head out to Durham if Schilling is pitching. Maybe "Big Hurt" will stay hurt long enough and will still be in Charlotte when I'm up that way on June 10-12, if he is I might have to make a detour on the way home on Sunday.

I just went to ncproshows and they have added Melvin Scott at the Triangle Town Center Fri night from 5pm-7pm. The site doesn't say how much his auto will be. I might try to stop by there on my way home from Fayetteville and get Jawad's auto and maybe Melvin's.

when i went to the show, i think their was a negro league hof'er selling books and such. im not sure. how did they handle the old timers. did they sign autos for people in the morning or were they set up on the floor all day. i felt bad for that one guy, he was just sitting their with his books. but it was cool when some guy went up to him saying he wanted his auto and that he should be chargin more for it than peppers and rivers, as he was a hof'er

anyone know how hard it is to get autos from players during the knights games. i would love nothin more than to get franks auto on a ball when he is in charlotte. ive been a white sox fan early and the big hurt is still my favorite player

Being that I got there late monday afternoon after work to get Bettis just missed him, well maybe next year. I guess that UNC team signed ball that I got this year looks that much better now. There are alot of Nascar signings on signingshotline.com you can sign up to get this free for 30 days. Have a extra auotgraphed Ron Francis to trade if anyones interested.

if you go to the ncproshows website, it mentions a private signing by a unc star being announced this week. according to that website, at the very top of that page, it says a signing for may will be late may. towards the bottom, it says that he signed on may 13th. i am guessing/hoping that may will have a private signing sometime soon.

Joerrad...I went to the show. As appst70bull stated the Negro Leaguers were upstairs. Actually they were great. I went to get Monte Irvin and he was very nice. I met Buck O'Neill but I did not get his autograph. It is very hard to get autographs at Knights Stadium. Unlike a lot of the minor league stadiums, they have the stadium locked right up to the time the gate opens. After the gate opens, the players are already in their pregame preparations. Of course, International League rules dictate that players cannot sign during a game and they run to the dugout after the game. You will be very, very lucky if you can get "The Big Hurt". Yes FenwayP, it is ironic that his name is that because he does stay hurt a lot.

I heard an interview with Buck O'Neil on 850 The Buzz. They asked him about John Rocker saying what he said about Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron and O'Neil lit into Rocker, it was pretty good. The man still knows his baseball and seems very well read to be 93 years old.

I just picked me up some cool memborbilia cards from ebay: a Johhny Bench jersey card ($2.75), Joe Morgan bat card ($1.00), Sparky Anderson jersey card ($2.75) and a Harmon Killebrew bat card ($4.00). So, for a total of $10.50 I've begun my quest to get a memborbila card for every living baseball HOFer.

Hey NC'ers, NBA Legends hit Gamestop here in Roanoke, VA today. Got a complete set of regulars plus a Dr. J chase. I'll post pics later. :D

congrats on the find...being a nba only collector (well, with the exception of a few players I like)...I have been waiting for this series FOREVER

kiapooh, i have 3 heels auto tix waiting for me there on friday. marvin is only signing an hour, so i figured i might as well get one in advance. i just cannot decide what i want to get autographed. what about anyone else going? i'm sure they will have some stuff there to get auto'd. those legends chases are going for a pretty big chunk of change right now on ebay. i think i will wait to see how many get produced.

went to the walmart in charlotte last night. they have, and im not exagerating, over 60-75 figs on the shelfs. theyve had them forever and they are not selling. they had alot of the homles, plummer, urlacher series along with a ton of racing. i thought it was hilarious they had so much and theyve had them for almost a half a year and all they keep doing is changing their location.

if anyone goes to check out GS at Crabtree today for Legends, report what you see. Supposedly, they have 2 cases on reserve (w deposit). They're supposed to buy the full cases, but I'd be willing to bet that there will be regs on the pegs this weekend.

Oh yeah, this is the one where I posted earlier this week that the new manager there told me one of the cases on reserve is for him, and that he's a collector. We'll see...

went by gamestop in fuquay, had two cases in, both reserved, one by fenway. saw the other guy open his. had a wilt chase and a pistol pete hawks...2 chases...i bought the erving and bird regs from the open case...went to gamestop in cary...they got a case in...NOT RESERVED...had the guy open it...one chase...DR. FREAKIN J!!!!!!!!!! of course, i bought that badboy, as well as another erving reg and another bird reg...that was the only chase in the case...erving was my childhood idol...that is the first time in collecting that i have ever opened a case at a store...3 years is not long enough to wait for that beauty!!!!! by the way, 3 of erving and birds in each case, two wilts, and one of each of the others basically. the only maravich was the reg in one case and the chase in the other. my students finished exams yesterday, and i am on my way to the unc signings....what a day

Went to Gamestop today (5:20 PM) and opened my case. It had ZERO variants, and it is odd since the manager had called me earlier at work and told me that "my case was in, and she opened it just to make sure there were 12 figures in it and then resealed it". She then said she had no idea which figures were in it. Then, when I got in tonight the case I open mysteriously has the following breakdown:

1 reg Maravich
1 reg Willis Reed
2 reg Walton
3 reg Erving
3 reg Bird
2 reg Wilt

Maybe I just got a bum case, but I find the whole thing a bit fishy if you ask me...I left them all out of spite for the situation...oh well. It's Friday.

by the way, got a marvin, jawad, raymond, jackie and melvin signed picture, and a marvin only signed basketball. the 8x10's they had were only of jawad and raymond, and they were not that great, so i got one of those big pictures that were on sale at the card show...the one of the national championship game...they all signed on the picture in grey, it looks pretty good...there were really no other options out there for them to sign on, except for those lowsy 8x10s, some big and small basketballs 30 to 50 bucks, and s.i. magazines. it was cool seeing all five of those guys sitting together signing stuff...

fenway, no way that case had no chases in it...that guy that was there when i was there had 2 chase figs...i have seen no other cases posted with two chase figs, man, i am telling you...i bet she let that guy open both of those friggin cases...he had the wilt lakers and the maravich hawks...he was also buying one other one, but i think it was a white reed...i reserved an nfl legends with her today, but i am going back next week to get my cinco dollars back...i bet you anything that guy that reserved the other one opened both...i am sorry, man, that sucks.

It does pretty much suck, but I'll get over it. I just wish they would keep to their word. I was really only interested in the Dr. J Nets and chase Larry Bird anyways...I may just start buying cases that I really want from dealers from now on...this was just disappointing.

There are more important things in life than figures, though....

Thanks Icee...as for the Stargell chase, I sold that to Ed (blkngold01) many weeks ago (he is a big Pirates fan)...but I'm sure I can find something else you might be interested in, or I'd be happy to buy it from you. ncsu still might have some, they had another event about two weeks or so ago, and they sold the extra chairs. they had about 1,000 sets or 3 chairs. not the best condition, but cool as s h i t to have in your house or apartment. they sold for 30 for 3, so if you see anyone that has 1, 2, or 3 they sold for 10, 20, or 30. i would suggest calling the sports marketing department to see if they have any extra. ill post some pics later.

if any of you are looking for the bird chases, i will give you one for 27. i just bought 4 for that price delivered. it may end up being expensive once all the cases are out, etc. fenway, i know you are looking for one, along with the others on the previous list. it may be more than you want to spend, but i bought one off of ebay, and up to five could be shipped for the same shipping, so i figured i would add 3 more, and it ended up coming to 27 a figure delivered. i obviously have not received them yet, b/c i just bought them. the store i bought them from has over 5000 feedback, and over 99%, so i think they will come through. i will post when i receive them, hopefully later this week, and if anyone is interested, let me know, and i will meet you somewhere. if not, then i have 108 bucks worth of bird chases. let me know.

thanks, yeah they are wolfpack read and were just $20, their was some red duck/vinyl tape on the top right corner and a peice of gum on the bottom of the chair. i heard some were trying to fix them up real nice and redo the upholstery, but im leaving mine like that, just getting the dirt/rust off.

i just ordered the mlb audio to listen to braves games. it is only 15, and you can listen to any mlb game via the computer. it is much cheaper than the mlb package on cable. i am getting ready to paint upstairs in my house, and figured, since most games over the next couple of months are going to on fss and turner south, i might as well listen. anyone setting up at the greensboro show?

I went to the Elloitt Sadler signing this evening in Kannapolis. He was signing at a super Wal Mart. I got there at 4:30pm and their was a huge (and I mean huge) line. About 10 people were behind me and they came and cut the line off, he only signed from 4-6pm. I waited in line for an hour and a half and finally at 6:00pm I met him. He was only signing one item per person so I had him sign my SP. He was very nice to meet.

I wasn't able to get a picture though :( I'm sure he had other things/plans to do so they were really rushing the last few people in line.

I just saw on the news that John Olerud is rehabbing with the Paw Red Sox, who are in Durham playing the Bulls this weekend. They showed him signing quite a few autos during the segment. I don't think I can make it out there this weekend, Sat. I'm going up to see the Grasshoppers play and Sun. I'll be watching the Indy 500 and Coke 600.

I just checked out the ACC baseball tourney results, UNC has gotten knocked out, NCST is gone, Duke is of course and their coach is resigning. Wake Forest is the only team left alive from NC. Also, ECU is out of the C-USA tourney. Since they have gotten knocked out of the tourney, are they still elgible to go to the College World Series? I haven't followed college baseball till this year so I don't know.

I got to meet Harmon Killebrew last night. He was signing autographs at the Charlotte Knights game. He was supposed to be there only two hours. However he signed for almost seven innings and signed for everyone in line. A real class act and a real gentleman. A lot of athletes could learn something from him. Also Frank Thomas signed some autographs before the game. He signed three different times. He did not look very sharp in the game either. He almost hit a home run but one time he was thrown out on a play at first that if he had ran harder, he might have beat it out.

Hey guys!!! Here is a TRU update at the TRU in Silas Creek Crossing in Winston-Salem. There are NBA Legends everywhere...NO variants. Here is what I found Bill Walton (2); Dr. J (9); Wilt (5); Larry Legend (9); Reed (3); Maravich (2). I checked all of the sections above and there are a bunch of regulars in that section above the pegs. However I climbed up and NO variants there either.

I went up to see the Greensboro Grasshoppers last night. Man, that is a nice stadium, especially for a A team and they drew close to 7,000. Unfourtanely they lost 2-0 to the Rome Braves, who had 14 hits and only scored 2 runs. Next, I'm going to hit Hickory and Asheville on June 10 and June 11.

Hey guys, nothing new in Goldsboro right now, a bunch of MLB Legends... Have been on the pegs for about 2-3 weeks.

I hit the road to Raleigh today, the wife wanted to go to the flea market at the Fairgrounds. ( She was looking for a Sofa Table, no luck). But I had a mini haul. I found a McFarlane seller. He had mostly NFL series 8, and a few 9. I picked up Ahmen Green, Tim Brown from Series 8, and Urlacher and Culpepper for series 9.

All 4 will be turned into customs as soon as I box them up and ship them off to my customizer. Hopefully to have them returned in about a week. I will post some picks of my customs apon them returning..

Have a good Memorial day weekend, and remember to be safe.. there were cops all over Hwy 70, and I 40 today...

Appst70bull...that stadium in Greensboro is very nice. I think it is one of the best stadiums in minor league baseball. Hickory has a nice stadium too but it is not in the class of Greensboro. Asheville's stadium McCormick is old but it has a distinctive flair to it. All you can see past the fences are the sides of a mountain. It is quaint. If you want to see another nice stadium, you need to travel up to Charleston to see Appalachian Power Park. That is a brand new park and is very nice.

Thanks for the info man. I went to Appalachian State in Boone, NC for 7 years and never got down to see Hickory or Asheville. I really don't know why. I might have to make that roadtrip up to Charleston sometime. Right now, I'm trying to finish up all the minor league teams in NC-just have Hickory, Asheville (June 10 &11), Burlington, Kinston (both day trips on a Sat. or Sun.) and Charlotte and Kannapolis (a weekend trip soon).

appstate, have fun in burlington. its the most non ada compliance stadium around. pretty much all bleachers, and you can tell by the stadium that its a small town team. the indians have been their affiliates forever. manny, thome, bartolo, i think sexston, and others have played their.

anyone notice the hoppers mascots, they have a male and female grasshopper but then they have a turtle or something. whats up with that. i know they almost had other random mascots like a cardinal and a dragon.

Thanks for the info man. As far as the mascots go, I bought a yearbook last night at the game and they have GiGi, a female grasshopper, Guilord, a male grasshopper and Timmy the Turtle, who has the YMCA logo on his shell. I really don't know why they need 3 mascots.

the hoppers really started out right with the new stadium, but with the name change and the backfire with that meaning people really disliked it. mascots that have nothing to do with the team name and naming one mascot GiGi, i think they need to get new management in their who know what they are doing.

I was under the impression that it went under new management prior to the name change. Is that correct? Also, I don't know how they had been drawing, but last night they had 6,907 in a stadium that seats 7.599 according to thier yearbook. I think that is pretty good for a A team, but it was Memorial day weekend, so that might have got more people there. Personally, I think if they market it right they can really do well, also I've heard that they are trying to get higher than A ball.

appst, i may have mentioned this, but i went to app my freshman and sophomore years before i transferred, and i loved it. it has changed since 1987, but it is still a great place. i think it is great that you are hitting all the minor league parks in nc. i take for granted that there is so much great baseball being played around here...

they are under the same managment. they did have an owner, melvin, who basically runs gboro. he owned the team and then soldout to partner owner brantley, but melvin still has a great deal of influence, in that is organization, action greensboro paid for the stadium. but they are still under the same president, gm, and such. i think that grasshoppers can be a good fit, i dont know if youve heard about the feedback, but people just hated it. they wanted a kid friendly name and grasshoppers, around gboro and on the news they just call them hoppers, can be very kid friendly. i know they do want to go higher than low A. the lighting is at AA standards and it can be expanded seating wise, as youve probably seen on the grass hill in the outfield. i think theyre on the right track but the people running it that might not be the right people. greensboro is really going for a "downtown revitalization" right now and the ballpark is gonna really get that goin

bizquit-I don't think you had mentioned that yet, yes App has changed very much since than and even since I have left there, they just opened the new library, starting a new rec center, etc.
joerrad-I see now, I didn't know any of that info about them, I just flipped through the yearbook again and I only see like 3 new people in their front office. I also agree that this will greatly help that area. I think they really need to put up some restaurants right around the ballpark, the only one I saw was Acropolis (sp?) that is across the street. I think a nice sports bar would do killer business down there.

That guy from this board pulled the Jackie Robinson and it's going for $1,100 with 6 days, a Babe Ruth just sold for $6,100 and a Honus Wagner was pulled over on beckett, one is on ebay right now going for $4,000. That is a lot of $ to be spending on cards, but hey if you can afford it, you might as well buy it.

Appst70bull, that stadium in Burlington will not go down in your book of memories. To give you some history, the grandstand at Burlington used to be at a stadium in Danville, VA. It was sold and the grandstand was actually moved to Burlington. It is nestled down near the end of a street without much scenery. Charlotte...I need to rant and rave about that stadium. That has to be one of the ugliest stadiums in the minor leagues. It is actually in Fort Mill, SC. You have to get off the interstate and you will turn down a road and it winds down into a very rural setting. The stadium and the Bobcats' training facility are both on this road. There are no restaurants or anything nearby. An old "green sided" house sits on the hill over the left-centerfield fence. The stadium has absolutely no personality. I have never been to Grainger Stadium in Kinston. I do plan to travel to that stadium one of these days. As for Greensboro, they do wish to become a Double A team but that probably will not happen while they are in the Marlins' organization because they already had a Double A team in Zebulon (Carolina Mudcats) and they have a fairly new stadium too.

Thanks for the info man, I've heard Burlington is a bit ran down. I've also heard that the Kinston team might be getting moved. A guy mentioned that on a ball park website to hit it becuase the team probably won't be there much longer. Hopefully I can knock all of the ones in NC out soon. Than I've got a trip to Louisville Bats /Louisville Slugger Museum planned out, while vistining my grandparents in IN. Than maybe toward the end of the summer I might hit Camden Yards and RFK Stadium on a weekend trip.

fenway, after the gamestop episode, there is sweet justice in the world!!!!...great find on the bird chase...on the poopoo cities/towns in nc(i think poopoo will not get censored), fayettenam does have some qualities about it that are not that great, but it was a good place to grow up. how great a place is depends on where you are at that particular point in your life...as a single guy in my 20's, there are only a few places i would want to live(and did live), raleigh, wilmington, and charlotte, but as a married guy with children (which i am not), i would think any place would be what you make it...i teach in a small town, and drive through rural areas to get there, and sometimes i think about how great it would be to own a bunch of LAND! anyway, good luck getting the figs

Bizquit, you are quite philosophical today. I was born and raised in a very rural town in Virginia. That will always be home because I spent such a large part of my life there and all of my family still lives there. I live in the city now and frankly I love that too. If you need to run out to get something, I am only ten minutes away and that is really nice.

ed, great point about memorial day...i have taught kids, and yes i mean kids, that are fighting in iraq right now, and it really hits home. i never served, but i put the military above all other professions. those men and women overseas are risking it everyday, and everyday in my classroom this year we read an article about iraq...i am sitting in my undies in front of a computer talking about toys today because there is someone ought there defending and protecting me!...thanks ed for bringing that up!

BDK, I was there too. I was in the 1st half of the line and they were letting everyone get 2 things signed. When he was finished, I headed over to the Home Depot where Tony Stewart was signing (not thinking I had any kind of chance to get him) and they were still handing out arm bands. So I ended up getting both that day.I went to the Elloitt Sadler signing this evening in Kannapolis. He was signing at a super Wal Mart. I got there at 4:30pm and their was a huge (and I mean huge) line. About 10 people were behind me and they came and cut the line off, he only signed from 4-6pm. I waited in line for an hour and a half and finally at 6:00pm I met him. He was only signing one item per person so I had him sign my SP. He was very nice to meet.

I wasn't able to get a picture though :( I'm sure he had other things/plans to do so they were really rushing the last few people in line.

After getting Saddler & Stewart I went insane and me, my brother and nephew went downtown Charlotte Wed. night to get in line for Dale Jr. We were the 1st 3 in line. We slept there Wed & Thur night. It was really cool because the news was there interviewing us and taking pictures, so we ended up on tv & in the paper. Also, people kept offering us money to cut in line, but we said NO THANKS!! During the 2 days of being on the street we got to get in other line to get other autographs while we switched off saving our spot in line for Jr. I ended up getting K Kahne, T Labonte, B Hamilton Jr, R Wallace, K Harvick, B Vickers, B Labonte and a few unkown drivers. I got SP's signed from everyone mentioned that has one made except B Labonte. After we left speed street, we went home to eat and shower, and then headed over to Evernham Motors where they had a fan appreciation day and ended up with Kahne again along with B Elliot aand J Mayfield. What a weekend, i am exhausted. just thought I would share.

The Nextel Cup guys are great signers. My son is an avid NASCAR fan and we used to attend the Preview Show every year in Winston-Salem. Along with him, we have met Dale, Jr., DJ, Bobby Labonte, Jeff Gordon, Jeff Green, Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart, Benny Parsons, Kyle Petty, Bobby Hamilton, Jimmy Spencer, Todd Bodine and others. Spencer might have been having a bad day but he acted like he would have rather been anywhere than where he was. He was the only one that I was classify as being "distant". He was busy laughing and talking with whoever was at the table with him and he did not even look at the fans.

kiapooh, what a great weekend. i bet charlotte was rockin. on a similar note, i had one heck of a weekend, too. i painted a room upstairs in my house for my weekend...the first task on a honeydo list the size of lowe's motor speedway. i also had an autograph experience as well. the painters who did the outside of my house and the deck asked for my auto on a really big check! i was very popular with those guys...not the same kind of experience, i guess. i cannot believe you got all those sigs. it is good to know that those nascar guys really are as fan friendly as their reputations. that is one sport that has blown up in the last ten years. it sucks for all the nc races that have been taken away, but it is great for the sport...

The NBA Legends have arrived in Fayetteville. On my way home today, I stopped at the Spring Lake WM. I saw the box at the bottom of the cart with boxes stacked all over it, I kindly went up to an employee and after a little confusion he figured out the box was already on the floor. Once we dig down to the box, I see it had already been opened. When I opened it there was atleast on reg of each, which I bought a Erving and a white Bird, in a case that had already been open. So, the WM by the mall is on my way home, so I figured what the heck. I walked in there and they had 5 reg. Ervings, 3 reg. Birds and 2 reg. Wilt. I didn't find any other figs around the aisle, or maybe they just got in a few cases and it had sold down to this. Anyway, I didn't buy anything at this WM.

That's really sweet man :) I didn't even try for the Stewart event at HD since it listed only 750 arm bands would be handed out. I heard alot people saying they were going to the Stewart signing after the Sadler one while I was in line. I didn't try the Evernham Motorsports day on Saturday either. It say only 320 tickets were being handed out.

How was Stewart to meet Kiapooh?

I would love to see pics of your signed SP's if you have a camera/scanner.

The one where I found the opened case on the cart, there were 10 figures when I reopened the box, I remember 1 Walton, 2 Erving, 1 Pistol, 1 reg. bird, 1 Chamberlin, two others I can't remember and the Erving and white Bird I bought. At the other there were 5 Ervings, 3 reg. Birds and 2 Chamberlins on the pegs.
