they had plenty shockeys vicks farves portis..i think 2 penningtons....AND 1 PEPPERS....YES I LEFT THE PEPPERS .....didnt need to be greedy, just got what i needed....the manager was actually amazed that we left figs...especially when i said i was leaving some for other collectors to get....my set is now complete..didnt want the farve...im happy till next year or until nba...only want big ben

Cary, NC TRU at Crossroads had what looked to be a few left over NFL7: 1 Pennington, 2 Favre. Also, they had about 7-8 NASCAR figures, none of which I care about in the least...also, there was a 12" Rice and 12" Williams and still about 9 12" Favre. They had many 2-packs (McCaffrey-Thomas, Brooks-Gannon, several hockey 2-packs as well). Any other sightings anywhere in the Triangle area lately ?

Flounder, the KB at Crabtree has some fat bull-***e manager that is a thief and whose store leads the district in strink every year. She lets the 2 brothers that work there take the "desirable" pieces. They don't collect, just resell. Call and complain to the district sales manager if you have a problem. Nothing more that I'd love to see than her get booted.

I live in cary in lochmere right around the corner from the walmart on kildaire farm road. there has never been anything in that one, but a gamestop has just opened in that shopping center. it opened yesterday. i stopped by in there and they had nfl 7. they did not have a lot, but i did pick up a portis and a vick, just the regulars. they were 12.99 each. i ordered a case already from a place on line, and so i am not really sure why i bought them. it is just so damn fun to find sp's. i asked about any others. i wanted to see what the nascar looked like even though i am not a nascar fan. he did not have them, but babbages at crabtree did. the guy at gamestop called babbages for me, and the guy at babbages said there were a lot of nfl figures there as well. i also went to the mall in cary, and found about 14 nfl figures sitting on the floor at eb games waiting to be put up. i about crapped on myself, because i thought i had hit jackpot. but, as always is my luck, they were all regulars. someone had obviously taken the chase figures out. i did not buy any, so i left all of them there. there was one of each, and two of most, just none of the one i wanted...being a carolina grad...peppers! i was going to hit crabtree tonight, but just got lazy. my days of chasing the chases are numbered, but if i am out, and spot some sp's, i will give board members a heads up.

EB Games at Crossroads (near BJ's and Petsmart) had nearly a full case out. They had a David Carr, which I have not seen before, and Shockey x3, Favre x2, Pennington x1, and Vick reg x2, if anyone is interested. I refuse to pay $11.99 (a 20% mark up over TRU, WalMart and Target), so I even left the Carr. I would buy a variant at that price, but not any of these. Just a heads up...

I presold three sets, so that takes away 24 figures. Then my set of regs, that makes 32, leaving 28 figures, hopefully close to half of which are variants. I'm a completist, so I buy the cases to help me put a variant set together without spending an arm and a leg.

Actually they did, Pennington too. I left them tho and just grabbed Vick and Shockey. Im not a completist, just trying to get Teams the Panthers play so i can set the figs up gameday. I guess i plan to get one player for each team eventually.

So it kinda ate at me i left those 2 behind (loved Pennington at Marshall) so i went by again the next day just to see if they were still there, they were so i grabbed it up. Plenty of Shockeys, Mcallister, Smith, Harrington, Vick left but im really after my Panthers.

Found a Shockey White Jersey Variant at GameStop tonight ! Funny thing is that it was one of only 5 figures left including Hines Ward, Vick, Pennington and Favre regs...

I found the motherload of NFL7 at a walmart in Asheville... There were 5 cases waiting to be put out, and an entire endcap was full of nothing but NFL7 (I counted over 50 regs on the endcap alone) Someone had already opened the cases before they left the backroom, but the only things that seemed to be missing were retros, Peppers var and Carr var (if there even were any). I noticed one fig gone from each case. I counted:
2 red Vicks
2 white Wards
1 green Pennington
1 white Portis
7 white Shockey
8 white Favre2

It's funny... the only reason I stopped in was because I was hoping to find a reg Peppers (it's been hard to come by).

Hummm, that is a good question. I did not even ask. I am assuming that it was the Wal-Mart since that is the only place up there that I know that would carry them.

I found 3 cases of NFL7 at Mooresville Walmart and 1 cases at Kannapolis Walmart.
Unfortunately, three were the same assortment.
Red Vick, Green Pennington
The other case had
White Shockey, White Favre, White Peppers
I needed the Favre, and grabbed the Peppers for raltherr. Also, I thought it was funny that the lady at the Kannapolis Walmart, I started talking with her about the figures and how hard they are to find(she was nice enough to unbury them from the skid for me). She said there's a guy from a flea market(I'm still new to the area so I don't know what she's referring to) used to always come in at like 2 in the morning and help one of the employees stock everything. In return, he'd get all the variants and TH's. She told the manager and he put a stop to it. So after she broke out the case for me, she opened the hotwheels box, pulled out the TH and said, buy this too, I don't want him getting it :D I hope I don't put a flea marketer out of business. :D Anyway, I haven't seen them hit the Walmarts closer to Charlotte yet, so be on the lookout.

Cracked two cases of NLF7 tonight in Raleigh. All regs. Was hoping to get a Rams Sehorn but no such luck.

I also saw a Hobby Stewart Variant at the EB Games in Crabtree tonight. It was still there as of about 8 tonight.

WalMart in Cary (Kildaire Farm Road and Tryon Road) had an entire endcap FULL of NFL7 regs today at 3:00 PM...picked up a regular Carr and regular Portis...they had the following left:

5 Carr
3 Ward
7 Pennington
6 Favre
3 Vick
3 Shockey
0 Peppers

I figure there must have been three cases put out within the past few days...go get 'em if you want 'em for $9.63 + tax !

Also, above those on the same endcap were plenty of the Gannon/Brooks and McCaffrey/Thomas 2-packs...

Hey guys!! I regularly hit the Wal Mart's and TRU's in Greensboro, Kernersville, and Winston-Salem. All of them have the NFL 7 but no variants especially the Julius Peppers. There is no need to even try to get anything at the TRU in Winston-Salem. One of the salespeople in that store buys up all of the figures so you are wasting your time to even try. I did manage to score a NHL 6 Selanne variant there.

BDK...you're not telling nothing but the truth. I never get anything at KB in Hanes Mall. I stopped checking there because it was a waste of effort to get out of the car. TRU in Silas Creek Crossing is the same way. For some unexplained reason, I was able to score the variant Selanne and the variant Randy Johnson in the past month but I have gone in there everyday. I also checked the Target over on Hanes Mill Blvd too but there was nothing. I do not even check at the Gamestop's because everything is reserved.

My streak of alt. jersey finds continues. I came across a freshly opened case of NBA 5 at Gamestop today. Believe it or not, the case was not reserved, and I actually walked away with an alt. jersey Chris Webber. It was the only alt. jersey in the case.

I cannot believe that anyone found anything at TRU in Winston-Salem. The salespeople purchase most of the "good" figures at that location. You have to be very lucky to score anything at that store. I know...I visit that store on almost a daily basis.

I mainly collect football ( I still need an Urlacher no helmet, Michael Bennett and a Holmes white pants variant to have every football figure). I also have nba. just a heads up, i went xmas shopping today under the guise of shopping for my neices and nephews. i have posted on here before, and live in cary. while i WAS looking for them, i used it as an excuse(b/c my girlfriend was with me) to look for sp's. I found plenty of nba 5 at kaybee in cary towne center. there was one of every figure-about 5 lebrons-but no variants. i have been in there several times, and today i found a bernie in pinstripes and a gagne grey variant. those mlb series have been out for a while, but i had not seen them there. it was weird. i bought them both. i am now only buying variants, unless it is a player i really like. i went to Walmart and gamestop and ebgames in cary, and they all had assortments of nfl 7, nascar, and nba 5. the toysrus also had a variety, but no variants. it seems the latest nfl series and the latest nba series are going to be easy to get. the variants are obviously difficult, especially with all the connections that scalpers have at the individual stores, but what the heck, it is still fun to find a hard-to-get every now and then.

It seems the Wal-Mart near the mall never gets anything, haven't seen anything there in a while. I think someone probably gets the cases before they are even rolled onto the floor. Heads up to you guys in the Triad area of NC. I have been doing some major Christmas shopping which includes the obligatory trip to EB Games, Wal*Mart, and Gamespot in Greensboro, Kernersville, and Winston Salem. EB Games and Gamespot both have a few NHL regulars, i.e. Lecavalier, Lidstrom, Yzerman, Lemieux, etc. The NFL figures are plentiful but no Peppers. However no variants. I did not see any NBA figure or NHL figures at any of the Wal*Marts.

Forgot to mention that I saw a case today at TRU of MLB4 (oh boy...). It was afresh case and had like 6 Ichiro, 2 Walker, 3 Morris and 1 of two others. All regulars. They must be cleaning out the stockrooms for Christmas...I also noticed all the 12" NFL dwindled down to just 1 Rice and 4 Favre's from about 4 of everything except Emmitt last week...

BDK...I just saw your post. Those Dale Earnhardt, Sr. figures are all over the Wal*Mart's in the Triad. I saw a couple at Wal*Mart off Hanes Mill Road just before Christmas. They are also at the Wal*Mart in Kernersville. I was at Wal*Mart on Kester Mill Road the day after Christmas and they had no racing figures.

I went shopping yesterday. There are hardly any figures in the Triad at any of the major retail stores. Wal*Mart (Kester Mill Road) had a couple of old MLB figures...Schilling. It was the same story at Wal*Mart at Hanes Mill Road. Also checked the Wal*Mart in Kernersville and it was the same thing. I still have not seen any NHL 6 at any of these Wal*Mart's.

Cary, NC (Crossroads Plaza) TRU (as of 5 PM FRI)had lots of the 3" NBA figures...mostly Duncan/Ming and Shaq/Rasheed. They also had quite a few MLB figures (older series) on clearance at the front of the store. Lots of Larry Walker, Randy Johnson, Matt Morris and Ichiro...I think they were like $6.50 each. Also, they had about 10 Jimi Hendrix figures.

I went to TRU in Cary today. I knew there wasn't going to be much that I was looking for there, but I went anyway. I was developing a little bit of cabin fever and needed to get out of the house. I saw the NHL 7 figs. I don't know a thing about hockey other than pulling for the Canes, so I left them all. There was one of every player, but I do not think there were any variants. I say that, because I don't know what variants are out there other than looking on the back at the pictures of the figures and comparing them to the figures in the packages. They all looked the same as the pictures. I will have to say that the Hasek figure is awesome. I would not have bought any, variants or not. I am trying not to spend money on the McFarlanes until the new baseball comes out, simply because I love the Braves, and cannot wait to get the Smoltz. They also had the smaller McFarlanes, and I did see the variant of the Wallace with the cornrows. By the way, one of my students at school told me that it was cornrolls. Does anyone know the lowdown...is it cornrows or cornrolls. Not a life or death matter, just curious. One last thing...Go Panthers!!!!!How incredibly exciting is it to have the home team in the Super Bowl. And one more last thing, I aint a bandwagon guy. I have lived in NC for 34 years, and have pulled for the Panthers since they started. I, like most, suffered horribly 2 years ago. Win or lose, and I really want to win, it has been a great ride!!!!

Found a Hasek Reg in Cary at TRU, and found a Giguere Reg TRU at Crabtree in Raleigh. Those were the only 2 I would collect in this series. Wish they would do a US born series and keep it for sale in the US only. Just like they do with these Canada sets only. graemlins/spawnskull.gif

EB games in Monroe, has NHL 7 11 out of 12 were there when I got there (no variants). Toys R Us in Pineville has a case of NHL 7 in the back but its picked through too. Most of the regs are in the case though including 1 Giguere.

Hey pimpinmidget!!! There are plenty of Lebron James' regulars at TRU on High Point Road in Greensboro. In fact there were about eight or nine regulars. Also there are a bunch of NHL 7 regulars including Hasek, Owen Nolan, Gaborik, etc.

Here is the deal Triad collectors. At 11:45 A.M. this morning, I cracked open a brand new case of NHL 7 at TRU in Winston Salem. Unfortunately there were no variants in the case. There were a couple of regular Hasek and Giguere. There were also a couple of regular Forsberg, a regular Bertuzzi, a regular Hedjuk a couple of Nolan's, etc. Needless to say, this was the first time that I had actually opened a case and I was very disappointed that no variants were there.

I forgot to mention that EB Games in Four Seasons Town Centre in Greensboro has a bunch of NHL 7 regulars too. All of the goalies are gone but everyone else is there. The Wal*Mart's in the Triad area of North Carolina are bare. In fact the one on Kester Mill Road in Winston Salem does not have any sports figures.

I can tell everyone for a FACT, that the concord mills TRU isn't getting any Mcfarlane's for the next 2 weeks. My buddy did a search, even tried to order NHL6, and nothing is coming in until NBA6, unless someone clears out the NHL7 there. On the other hand, from the numbers we looked at, someone bought the Hasek variant and stashed two figs, I'm assuming variants, somewhere in the store. So if you have the time, there are two NHL7 variants somewhere in the store, good luck. I only try to find them to help others out, I won't go digging for them
