I have a variant MacInnis now. My son found it at Software, etc. in Blacksburg, VA. They must have put out some more NHL 7 at TRU in Winston because I cracked open a case about 11:45 A.M. and there were no variants in that case. There were also none hanging unless I just screwed up and overlooked it...and I am positive that I did not miss it!!!

NC must be last on the shipping list. Haven't seen any MLB 8's yet. But I did find a Terrel Owens, a McNabb, a couple of Ricky Williams in his Dolphins uni (muddy and clean) and a Rolen variant at the TRU in Rocky Mount. They must have been hiding in the stock room somewhere.

I stay inbetween Greenville and Rocky Mount in a small town called Pinetops. I go to Greenville often too. Got a Vick 12 inch and a Priest Holmes variant from the TRU there. Why come our Targets around here don't carry sportspics? If you get any info on the new MLB 8 around here boogie, let me know.

Question. Did anyone actually find a Peppers in stores around here? I had to get mine off of ebay.

No MLB 8 anywhere in the Charlotte/Pineville area. Searched 2 Targets a TRU and Media Play and nada. TRU on independence has a bunch of Wallace/Kidd 2 packs with Cornrows and Writing on the armband if anyone needs them. Both Targets had no SPs at all. I still need a Forsberg Retro and my Piazza Dodgers :mad: . Good luck guys

Wow...lots of people in eastern NC...lot more than I thought. I'm from Greenville too. Took a trip to Raleigh to go to Cheesecake Factory and had to nix that plan because the wait was FOUR AND A HALF HOURS! That has to be a record. But did do a quick Crabtree toy run, nothing exciting. The Wal-Mart in Greenville I think has stopped carrying SPs and the TRU is full of regs. I've stopped going to EB Games and the EB at the Carolina East Mall because they never have anything anymore. The KB's stink too.

Another question I have is, Is the black jersey Rich Gannon really a variant? His jersey color on the front and back of the package is white. But I saw 3 or 4 other Gannons in EB games in GVille and they were all black too.

Boogie, I'll be willing to trade a clean Ricky Williams Dolphins uni if you want. Just give me some offers.

Just give me some offers.Nah, the Black Gannon is the reg...it's kinda a Joe Thornton situation from an earlier series of NHL where the picture didn't match the figure, but it was the regular. In fact there isn't a Rich Gannon "chase" in the typical sense of the word, the "chase" piece for him in that series was the Chiefs retro figure.

Wal-Mart in Knightdale is a joke. All they have hangin' around is old Thome, Burrell(with gum on it from like April), Gonzo, and other BS. Plus, I just found out some dude the works there scams out all the good stuff as soon as they get it. He basically has cleaned out the NBA 5 a couple times before it even hit the floor. Fringe benefits, I guess. Target in Wake Forest is pretty weak as well. :(

MLB 8 is in Wake Forest Target. I picked up a Soriano, Bagwell and A-Rod, tonight. All regulars. That was all they had. I also scored on a Brodeur/Messier 2-pack. I left 2 of those on the shelves. I got these Thurs night at about 8 O'clock.

I went to a teacher's conference in Greensboro Thurday/Friday. I looked everywhere from G-boro to Cary, and I have found nothing new. I bet I have hit about 20 places the last two days, and nothing new. I thought since mlb hit in Wake Forest that it might have hit other targets in nc, but not the ones I have been too. Of course, I never have luck when I am out looking. I did get a Smoltz grey off ebay. I paid 16 plus shipping (6), which will be too much eventually, but I couldn't wait to get a new Braves figure. I feel like throwing my Maddux figures out.

Walmart in Monroe put out Broduer/Messier and a case of NHL 7 yesterday. I couldnt stop in the morning so I missed it all that was left as far as variants was a Retro Chelios. :mad: Also the Walmart in the Arboretum has 6 Messier/Broduer 2 packs so they are showing up.

Went to Cary Town Center Mall (Cary, NC) today and left two Owen Nolan Blue Jersey Variants at the Kay-Bee Toys there (I am not into NHL at all)...they had a TON of NHL7 figures, but those two Blue Nolan's were the only variants that I saw. Hope it helps someone out...they are $11.99 I think...

I went to every other SP carrying stores in the area and they had none. I did pick up a Metallica box set at Cary Town Center for $30 at Spencers.

Not a bad score for a couple of girls, huh?
They left a few behind so check them out tomorrow if they still have them. The Mgr. kept going in the back and bringing them out. The BLC were both hanging on the pegs when they arrived and he went to the back and brought out the Bagwell. Incredible!! My friend and I are both very pleased to say the least. :D

Be careful on what the Mgr's say. Just use it as a guideline. MLB 8 wasn't supposed to be in store until Feb26th according to the manager and it dropped today while my wife was there. See a previous post. Good Looking out hawk. tongue.gif

The boxes for the Metallica box sets were a little roughed up but I didn't care cause I was gonna open it anyway. It has working stage lights and plays a little snippet of the song "One". Its pretty cool. Putting together Lars drumset took nearly an hour itself.

fenway, was that gamestop the one on kildaire in cary next to the harris teeter? i thought about stopping by there. black n gold, i set up at those shows the last year or so. they can be alot of fun. there are a couple of guys that are always there with mcfarlanes. steve meyer, who is on the board, sets up. he does have good prices on figs for those interested. (hey steve, i am actually billy from the shows). if you have good figures with good prices, you can move them there. obviously, don't give them away for nothing. i look forward to seeing some new mcfarlane blood at the shows. I did one last show about four months ago, and was getting out of collecting, but every time i try to get out, they just pull me back in. i only collect now, i dont bother setting up at shows. i have a pretty good collection built back up of nfl, mlb, and nba, so if anyone is looking for one in particular, I will be glad to trade if i have it. glad to see all of the nc collectors on board.

I braved the monster snow storm that struck the Triad area of North Carolina today and made a run through a couple of places. Kaybee Toys in Hanes Mall did not have any MLB 8. EB Games in Hanes Mall had some regular MLB 8. They had a couple of A-Rod's, one Matsui, one Bagwell, and one Smoltz.

went to chapel hill for a conference today. it ended at 12 so i thought i would venture out to spot some sp's. went to the mall in chapel hill, and the gamestop there had nba 6 out, and said they were put out on tues. no variants. went to toys r us in durham and the new target. only had finley at target, and mlb 8 was latest at tru. then stopped by target in cary in crossroads, and they had a finley only. ebgames near there had 9 nba 6 figs, but no variants. tru at crossroads had mlb 8, no nba 6 and no variants. i did not buy anything. i did see 2 carmelo regs in chapel hill. they are sweet. i also saw nba 6 at gamestop in cary on kildaire, no variants, but they did have almost all the figs. if you want nba 6 regs, they are out there. did not check out cary towne center or anywhere else. i still love looking even though i know i will never find anything great. hope this is informative to anyone looking for figs.

Babbages at Crabtree Valley Mall has NBA 6. Almost every figure. No Pippen. Picked up Carmelo, Iverson, and Duncan. No Variants. The Iverson fig is soo sweet. That little up and under move he has in traffic is tight!! Payton is pretty sweet also, but, at $12.99 I had to draw the line until Target or Wally World gets them. I think the guys in the Triad area might have some luck at TRU in Winston-Salem now. The guy that was taking all the variants (Zack) is no longer employed there. I talked to one of the managers there the other day and was informed that he was NLE. I hope that he got terminated for his actions although if I had been a college guy, I probably would have done the same thing!!!

Okay Triad guys!!! Christmas comes in March now. I went by EB Games in Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem and scored big. I found the Soriano and A-Rod variants. They were the only two variants in the store...and of course I purchased both of them. I have never found two variants in the same retail store. Wow!!!

I think Wal*Mart has evidently gotten out of the figure business because it has been months since I have found anything there. Actually since NASCAR 1 came out.

I did a toy run today in Hickory. Babbages in Vally Hills Mall had alot of regulars and so did TRU. It seems Pippen is the short packed figure. I've only seen two of them.

By the way...I checked the EB Games on Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem about two hours ago and they had NO figures. Also if anyone wanders into Virginia, I traveled to Blacksburg this morning and checked out the EB Games and Software, Etc. in New River Mall in Christiansburg and got a big ZERO. They had some of the regular MLB 8 including the regular Smoltz but that was it. 84garyclark84 I will keep an eye out for the Duncan fig. I don't collect NBA but I will glady trade you straight up for something else...maybe a dark uniform Bertuzzi if you do hockey or a pinstriped Matsui, a gray Smoltz, or maybe we can come up with something else. I would love to have the first two but I have struck out on both of those.

pimpinmidget...I don't know about you but that Wal*Mart on Hanes Mill Road is about to be removed from my list. All I ever find there is a lot of frustration and aggravation because there are no figs there. I have not seen any since NASCAR 1 and there are a bunch of those hanging on the pegs especially Rusty Wallace. That used to be one of my treasured spots because I used to find all kinds of good figs there but lately...nothing and I don't know why. They did have the last football release but they had no hockey this winter and I have not seen any MLB 8. Have you been by the one on Kester Mill Road???

by the way 84garyclark84...if I see a variant football or basketball, you bet that I pick it up. Then I trade those to other collectors for something in baseball or hockey. I own -0- football and basketball figures. However, I am always on the lookout for the difficult figures and I pick them up if I run across them so that I can trade them for something that I really, really want. I don't trade to make a profit just trade straight up for something that I need. I seldom run across any of the football or basketball variants but when I have, I have just traded even because frankly I don't want the basketball or football figs. That is not where my interest lies.

As I said before Football is my # 1, I only need a series 3 Michael Bennett and a corrected Holmes to have the entire set (Series 1-7 variants/chase & exclusives included), but I am a little behind on my basketball. Those are my 2, I have 0 hockey figures and only a Bonds set (reg & variant) I think from series 5. You know, the one with him pointing at the sky, but I will probably trade it.
