new card shop in cary behind south hills mall...across from k and s cafeteria...it is called steve's coins, and he has alot of different things in there, not just cards...found out about it last weekend, but wanted to stop by and check it out before i threw my big weight behind it...you all should check it out...he has alot of cards from all sports...i picked up some bowman draft picks chromes of some baseball rookies i have been looking for, saltalamachia, marte and cano...the guy was very fair in his prices...he had some new baseball wax, and had some new playoff prestige football wax...just thought i would let you guys know...there were also some card guys set up at the fairgrounds today who had some high priced stuff...only a few sp's out there...

Picked up the new issue of Road & Track today and they had an article about the Dragon's Tail. This is in Deals' Gap, NC. This 11 mile stretch of road had 318 turns and seems to be a big destination for any sportscar driver or biker (sport or hog). I might have to go drive it someday, they have a cool website at www.tailofthedragon.com

I was looking around on nascars site and found the raceday scanner feature. They have the most popular drivers on there and you can listen to the spotter/crewchief and driver talk back and forth. Pretty neat, I'm listening to the #8 scanner right now.

Last day 2-day for my class full of thugs and hood rats. It baffles me how kids talk to adults at schools these days (mostly my ethnic kids). Guess they gotta keep it real. Hope those aforementioned think it was worth the semester long f-off session while they are retaking the class again in August or flipping burgers, whichever comes first. random bump for the sorry braves...the run of 14 straight is practically done...i know it is hockey time in raleigh, but i am a home grown nc'er, and not a northern transplant with a love for the ice...not that there is anything wrong with all you yankees...my property value has skyrocketed in the last few years, and our local economy is kickin...i am excited about the canes, but i would not care two poots about the stanley cup if it were not for the canes...YES, I AM A BANDWAGON FAN...grew up playing football, basketball and baseball...played all through high school, so hockey is at least 4th on my list...i do love the support that everyone is showing for the canes, and it is exciting for a local professional team to be in the national spotlight...

Whew, this has been some weekend. Friday night I left Fayetteville early and was sitting in a Leith Chevy by 4pm, at 8pm I drove out in my 05 Trailblazer with 23,000 miles on it. Than, my dad, brother-inlaw and I went to see CARS (great movie). Saturday, the new truck took it's maiden voyage back down to Fayetteville for a football meeting that ended up taking about 4 and a half hours. I drove back to Wake Forest, watched the end of the UNC baseball game and the end of the Canes game. Today, I woke up, cleaned my truck up some, had a cook-out, watched the race and drove back to Fayetteville (in a bit of a storm). Tomm is the first day of football practice. Busy times, that is why I've not been posting much. Hope everyone is doing well.

We drove up 95 from MB around 630 and when we were grubbin' at Sonic in Lumberton they lost power due to the lighting strikes and rain. We got our food before the power went out if anyone was concerned about me. :D

Mario Williams let down a lot of people in his hometown today. He left after telling everyone he was taking a "5 minute break." He could have easily stayed another half hour to finish up the people who waited for over two hours in the sun. The line had stopped forming at least a half hour before he left.

I'm right there with ya Sparky. Ray is a great guy to deal with, and prices for his show are very reasonable. Paying up to $200 for a table at a mall show that no one goes to is hardly any kind of a deal. I know people that had done one of their shows in the past, and said "Never again. Bump for the Heels in the final game, even though they lost game 3. Too many mistakes by the heels...base running mistakes, and 4 errors killed us...especially the last one in the 8th by the second baseman...i feel horrible for that kid...routine play with two outs from second to first and throws it away allowing the winning run to score...unreal...it is so hard to get to the final series to win it all, but they had their chances...also, I am going to the Braves-Orioles series in Atlanta this weekend for my annual trip with my dad...I am looking forward to it as usual, but the BRAVES ARE AWFUL!!!!
