Tough night for the ACC...Heels, GA Tech and Boston College all lost...and Duke lost last night...

KHARMA...heels fans (like myself) have been talking smack all week about the state game and the duke loss tuesday night...that is why i should never talk smack, b/c that negative energy ends up biting me in the %%%...the heels could not hit the broad side of a barn tonight...38% from the field, and 6-27 behind the arc...the zags were awesome in that zone, and after missing nine of their first ten, they shot the ball really well...of course, they shot mostly without anyone in their face b/c the defense was weak...i don't think that tyler getting shut down was that big of a deal...had we hit a few more outside shots, that would have opened it up a little more for him...gonzaga was determined to shut tyler down, and let the heels beat them outside, and just did not happen...and we had alot of open looks, but did not put them in...i am not worried, though...the heels have a lot of talent, and once a rotation is found, i think this team can be really good...

i do not even know where to begin with the panthers...what a massive disappointment...the skins are ranked 30th in defense, and jake looked horrible...what an underachieving bunch of fools...henning is the worst offensive coordinator in the league...how in the world did he call 2 draw plays on the second to the last drive? why did jake throw that last ball? this team will implode b/c smith and johnson are going to go nuts, i can just feel it...and rightfully so...it is not just a crappy offensive line...jake looks horrible...of course, this is all expected, and what we are use to with fox as the coach...conservative play-calling, keep it close and hope to win it by a field goal...i would rather lose by a hundred than have this team lose to the vikings, bengals and now the skins in games we basically had won...how did we lose that game?

North Carolina State coach Chuck Amato was fired Sunday, sources close to the situation said, a day after the Wolfpack lost to East Carolina 21-16 -- their seventh consecutive loss to finish the season.
The Wolfpack finished this season with a 3-9 record, 2-6 in the ACC, and lost consecutive games to Akron and Southern Mississippi.
Amato had a 49-37 record in seven seasons at NC State, including a 25-31 mark in ACC games. The Wolfpack never finished higher than fourth in the ACC standings during Amato's tenure.
NC State athletics director Lee Fowler is expected to announce Amato's firing later Sunday night.

He is one of the top coaches in football and I just do not see him coming to a program that would take five to six years to really be competitive with VT, Miami, and those other elite programs.

I think Cowher may be States coach next season. For the past couple of years there have been rumors of him retiring from the NFL and after this Steelers season I think its very possible.

Congrats to Eastern Alamance on one helluva football game this past Friday night. They beat undefeated SouthWest Edgecombe 21-20 on a blocked extra point in OT to go to the eastern championship game. One of the best high school football games I've witnessed, just sucks to come out on the losing end. Can't complain about a 12-1 season though. Our football program is finally a force and will be until Coach Cobb leaves. He is 28-8 in his 3 years there, drastically improving a program that used to average 3-4 wins a season if lucky.

I don't know much about Tarboro's varsity coach but their JV is awesome. If I'm not mistaken they went undefeated this year, so their varsity future should be bright and will get back to what they are used to seeing.

state should have given amato next year to get it going, if he didnt make a bowl game or had a sub par season then let him go........he lost the two bookends on his defense from last year, and was still trying to get an offense that had rythm since rivers departure. cowher isnt coming the state, even if the steelers dont renew his contract or he decides to "retire" he would want a year at least to spend with his family before he jumped back to coaching, and i agree, it would take at least 3 yrs to get the program where they want and the state alumni arent very patient when it comes to that kind of thing...but look at the bright side carolina will have an acc championship and possibly in the national title hunt within the next 3-5 yrs with butch davis

ummm, FSU barely got 6 wins this year, as did Miami, did you not notice who is in the ACC championship game this year...wake forest vs georgia tech........Butch came to Miami when they were on probation also and put them back on top, every year for ol tommy bowden clemson starts strong and slides at the end, you cant bet money or maryland are they gonna be the 10 win team from 2001 (whichever ralphs first year was when they won the acc) unfortunately for the ACC right now with the giants (FSU, U of Miami) having down years there is so much parity in the league, i am in no way a carolina fan but i think butch davis was a good choice and he will put them in serious contention for the ACC title, with that will help recruiting and get them back to a possible 11-1 caliber team that mack brown left behind.

I'm selling my sports card collection from when I was a kid and thought I'd offer it up here if anybody is interested. Cards range from the late 80's to early/mid 90's. Every sport is included from Baseball, football, basketball to golf to racing cards. Includes 89 Fleer set with Griffey Jr rookie. I would estimate about 5000 cards in all. my decision to not go to the game was last minute...i bought that 8 pack on line a couple of months ago to unc games...i bought it really b/c i wanted tix to the ohio state game...the first game conflicted with the panthers, so i sold those...the game last night, well, i just punked out....i am too old to be getting home around 1 am...I have to be at school by 6:55, but i always get there about 6:15, so 5:15 comes very early...i know i sound like a wimp, but all i could think about was being in bed at 11:30 after watching the game on tv, and not trying to get out of the dean dome at 11:30 to sit in traffic...i do have tix to 6 other games, but no really good ones...i sold the tix to a friend i teach with at school...the sad thing is that i could have sold those things a week ago for a pot load of money...i paid 40 for each, and i will not even post what i "gave" them up for...actually, HOW BOUT THEM HEELS

my decision to not go to the game was last minute...i bought that 8 pack on line a couple of months ago to unc games...i bought it really b/c i wanted tix to the ohio state game...the first game conflicted with the panthers, so i sold those...the game last night, well, i just punked out....i am too old to be getting home around 1 am...I have to be at school by 6:55, but i always get there about 6:15, so 5:15 comes very early...i know i sound like a wimp, but all i could think about was being in bed at 11:30 after watching the game on tv, and not trying to get out of the dean dome at 11:30 to sit in traffic...i do have tix to 6 other games, but no really good ones...i sold the tix to a friend i teach with at school...the sad thing is that i could have sold those things a week ago for a pot load of money...i paid 40 for each, and i will not even post what i "gave" them up for...actually, HOW BOUT THEM HEELS
Billy, Billy, Billy I went to the UNC vs OSU game last night, then hung around after the game until 12:45 am to get my 3rd team signed ball complete, plus got a couple of pic of my daughter with a couple of the players signed (ie Lawson & Stepenson), Lawson on the ESPN mag and Terry on 2 of the SI basketball preview. Will now start on my 4th ball and some more mags to get signed.

I'm not sure about Wharton. Even when he was healthy, he wasn't playing lights out football. He was still part of the struggling O-line. Hartwig on the other hand, I don't really know. He was injured in the first game this year. So I'm not sure what he's capable of. With that being said, there are plaenty of teams in the NFL with offensive line injuries. But the backups fill in and they make due. The Panthers offensive line is almost completely inept. There's no running game what so ever!

Its hard to hate Jake Delhomme, even when he's playing badly. The guy gives his all and has as much heart and emotion as anyone in the league. He's just having a bad year. I wouldn't give up on him quite yet. Although drafting a QB in next years draft to be groomed wouldn't be a bad idea.

drove to charlotte for nothing...left half way through the third...i work for a living and dont have time to waste too much time on a team that is truly mediocre and consistent in giving a lackluster effort...with so much on the line the last three weeks, i have to believe that they are simply not a good team...i know about the injuries, but that is really no excuse for the position they found themselves in today...i would actually get my butt kicked like today, rather than lose in the 4th again...

Found NFL 14 Larry Johnson (5), Antonio Gates (2) and Shawn Alexander (4) at KB Toys in Concorde Mills Mall, they also had Larry (2) and Shawn figs at KB Toys at Carolina Place Mall Pineville, NC. No Steve Smiths at either, kid in the store said they only had one in the entire shipment.

Great job Panthers Offense you finally killed the Defense, they've had to be on the field so long this season now injuries are taking their tool. THIS TEAM SUCKS!!!

Found NFL 14 at TRU in Cary today. They had 3 Troy Polamalu, 2 Shaun Alexander, 2 Larry Johnson and 1 Antonio Gates. I snagged 1 Gates, 1 Alexander and 1 Johnson.

I also was able to grab the Patriots 3-Pack ! Thanks to 4th Horseman for the heads-up !!

I bought ten smith regs off of ebay for 9 bucks each including shipping...i was going to have them for the show this weekend, but i cannot set up...i opened one, and am keeping the other one...those two had dings but the others are all fine...i may set up in january and have them out...i know that clayton walmart had tons of regs, but if anyone wants one for 9 bucks let me know...of course, that is the price if you want to meet somewhere...obviously i can send it to some nc guys outside of raleigh for whatever shipping costs are...let me know

this is my first foray in FF and i enjoyed it...........cant wait to do it again.........damn injuries to my #1 and #2 picks and poor decisions sealed my fate...........great 3 game winning streak in my division is a good capper......(5-9)..........why does it end so early???????

seems like you should go through the entire season division winners and wildcard make the playoffs............keep your players on your team who make the playoffs and all the losers players go to the free agent pool and a second draft of playoff players happens.....makes sense to me

got ansy and ordered a set of nfl 14 from spawn store minus the troy fig.......since it appears its 2 to a case....id prob never see a bush and smitty.......wasnt bad, only paid about 7 bucks more than i would have at retail..............im truly getting tired of walking TRU..............its getting weird
