Ticked that Means and McNabb pulled out. But, did you see that William Henderson was added back in?
looking for old tarheels football programs of players that are going to be there or any card of them in there tarheels uniform that are cheap I mean really cheap or something that is just different

BTW, Will be at the Dre Bly with kids, nephew, and coworker and son. Hope to get half of what I bring signed. Be prepared to see the resale goons with their 50+ items of each athlete. I have already instructed the kids to use the "boxout" technique if need be when the aforementioned goons get rowdy.

bump for the mustangs making it to the 4th round of the 4A baseball playoffs...i am an assistant coach again for the team and right now we are 23-4 and playing next Tuesday in the eastern regional semifinals. It is pretty exciting stuff.

I am pumped about the worthy and wilkins figures. I saw worthy play in high school at Gastonia before he ever reached the big time. Around that same time I saw wilkins graduate from high school b/c he finished high school with my cousin in little Washington, NC. Nice to see the NC born players represented!!! Both of those guys have places in my childhood and they might pull me back into sp's

Also, bump for the show tomorrow. come out and shoot the bull. we had round 3 tonight at home in the playoffs, so i am paying 85 bucks to set up for two days, but what the hey...maybe i can sell some stuff and BUY some stuff!

Good seeing everyone at the show sat morning. On a bad note Eddie George had to cancell and Peppers & Faulk will not be signing at the autograph tent at the golf tournament and that sucks they should stay frecking home and watch the tube.

Got a game plan for the GOONs. I have taken a photo off the ebay and enlarged it to show the players. maybe that will calm them down. Just kidding but always next year as well as a Slurpies!

Happen to stumble into the Mall of the Carolinas, across from Carowinds, and saw the card show, went over to this table, and the guy was freakin out about how much stuff he had and getting rid of it all cheap. I bought:

I had a good run today at the DBAP if you are a Reds' fan. I caught Josh Hamilton going into the park and got a baseball, a mini helmet, and the only cover of Beckett Baseball Monthly that he was on the front cover signed. He is a great guy...signed everything for everyone there. He posed for pics and talked with all four of us that were waiting for him. This guy is a class act and a great guy. I know that he has cleaned up his life and I wish him the very best. He deserves it. I caught Joey Votto going in and got his auto on a pic. I also caught first round pick Homer Bailey going into the park and got a baseball signed. This guy is a first class jerk on signing. It was quite obvious that he does not like to sign. This guy will probably stop signing once he gets to the big show and that will be soon the way the Reds are playing.

The players enter in one location at the DBAP. There is an entrance between the ticket windows and the main entrance. They begin filing in between 2 and 4. Yesterday Josh Hamilton rolled in around 2:30 and Homer Bailey came in around 4. Bailey was the last player that came in.

Here's a picture of my daughter Savannah with Josh Hamilton at the DBAP tonight before the game. He signed a couple items for us as well. Nice guy. Hope he has a long career before it's all said and done. He hit a HR on the first pitch he saw tonight, also had a single, SB and scored 2 runs. He went 2-5. Bats won.

I thought that Josh was one of the classest players that I have ever met. On Friday, I really think that he would have signed autographs for hours had anyone been there. There were three other guys besides me and he signed everything that all of us had. He is a super guy and he deserves all of the fame that he receives. I hope that he has a great career...with the Reds!!!

The Durham Bulls experience is really something. I love that ballpark and the entire atmosphere of that area. If you look at old baseball photos from the 1940's and 1950's of the old parks, every park had a water tower or smoke stack in the distance. The DBAP has all of that. I love baseball history and when you attend a Bulls' game, it is like walking back into history. That old warehouse down the left field line has been turned into businesses with bars and restaurants which adds to that atmosphere.

Here is a comment made about the Cam Ward Custom Controversy. This lady has never seen a McFarlane, so this is what she said about the customs (the link to the customs in question can be found below):

I did the fig run today. Nothing new around. The Wal*Mart on Wendover has four regular Big Papi's if any Red Sox fan is looking for one (I know FenwayP already has one). They had regs of everything but Verlander. TRU on High Point Road still has three Yankees' three packs. They also had a couple of Abreu's Phils fig for $5.99.

Sounds good man, for some reason I can't find any new Cars in the Wake Forest or Fayetteville area I've seen 2 new ones (Hydraulic Ramone and Ferrari) since June 8, which I bought. I've probably been to 15 stores the past week and haven't seen a new one. Appreciate the help.

Found 1 Case of MLB 18 at TRU in Wilmington, NC. Snagged two Big Papi's in perfect shape and left many Ryan Howard, 2 Rivera, 1 Hoffman, 1 Wright. There were ZERO Webb and ZERO Verlander. Vacation was fun for figures !

This was today from about 3:00-4:45 pm at E.E. Smith High School in Fayetteville, NC. Curtis Martin, Ted Washington, Chad Pennington, Joe Horn, Leon Johnson and David Kreig were the big names who showed up. I just got Joe Horn's auto since he was a local boy he stayed for a while to sign and take pics.

Anyone drop by to meet him at any of the three Bank of America locations he visited in Charlotte yesterday? I heard about this on the way in to work and went by the PIneville location. There was not that large of a turnout at his last & longest stop in Pineville- maybe 30 people at the most. I got a signed 3 panel & mini helmet. Nice guy- hope he has a better season this year- hopefully the new blocking scheme for the RB's will take some pressure off Jake & the WR's.

Wal Mart @ Crown Point got in a full case MLB Big Papi's yesterday. If you have a Value City nearby & are in the market for some NFL jerseys they had authentic Steve Smith Jerseys last week for $59.99 (both the away & 3rd color jerseys). I went back by yesterday & all of the authentics were gone but they have several Smith & Delhomme EQT's for $39.99.

Yup, I'll be in Hickory next weekend. I usually do pretty good there. Panthers stuff is up and down. Some shows I'll do great with it, others...not so great.

FYI though, it's about 180 miles from Raleigh to Hickory, and the show starts at 9am.

Me & my daughter get up very early this morning to make it to The Early Show in downtown Raleigh, get there about 5:30 am and get my daughters pic w/Ricky Skaggs have a good morning watch everything thats going on, really nice how they do everything. Get Bruce Hornsby & Ricky Skaggs to sign my poster thats promoting the event. Get Hanna Storms auto and pic w/me & my daughter really nice woman talking to the kids taking pics and signing autos. Having a really good day so far, so we go have some breakfast and then leave to go to Phillip Rivers football camp stick around waiting for them to take a lunch break. I get Rivers on my nc state mini and this nice Chargers powder blue jersey that I have and get my daughters pic with him. Very nice guy. All in all had a GREAT DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it impossible to get single game tickets for the Panthers? I was on ticketmaster.com right at 10am on Saturday and as soon as the link went up, I clicked it and it came back saying that no tickets were available! It was like this for any game I tried? Does anyone know what happened?

The same thing happened to me last year. I didn't even try this year.

It goes like this. First you have all the seats owned by season ticket holders. Then there are seats set aside for the team, players families, promotions, etc. Then before the remaining tickets are available to the public, the season ticket holders get first dibs on the "public" seats. After that the seats left over are offered to the public. So at 10am you have fans and ticket brokers calling, going to ticketmaster.com or buying from a ticketmaster outlet. The few remaining seats (which I assume is only a few thousand) get snapped up instantly.

It drives me crazy. I can't afford season tickets, but I'd like to go to a few games. The only option is to get them from a ticket broker at twice face value. That's why I went out last year and bought a Big Screen HDTV.

considering all of the Braves 1B had 41 RBIs (worst in the league) Tex is a huge pickup. They gave up a lot but Tex can be and MVP caliber player when healthy

thinking about finally going to a panthers training camp...any advice about where to stay, etc, please let me know...i saw pictures posted on another thread and it got me pumped...

tex to my braves...man, did we really give up our top three prospects for under a season and a half...i hope tex is worth it...

i don't know about where to stay. But my best advice for you is this: There is no shade what so ever, and it is hot as hell. Bring lots of liquids and wear a hat! I'm not going this year. I've gone every year since I moved here, and I've decided it's not worth it.

thanks, raltherr, i am still toying with the idea of running down there for a night and seeing an afternoon, then morning session...i am not sure...someone posted hundreds of pix of camp, and i have always thought about going...thanks for the heads up about the heat and the shade, not too fond of sweating my ***** off

Couldnt tell ya where to stay hotel wise... i just drive back and forth.. Take some sun screen.. And some drinks with ya.. cant carry a cooler in.. but ya can put a couple in ur duffle bag and smuggle them in lol. Also bring your own sharpie.. most players dont carry one.

There is a good card shop on Jonestown Road in the shopping center right behind the Burger King. And there is a good collectables shop on Reynolda past the movie theater heading out of town on your right next to the Advanced auto parts

The card shop on Jonestown Road does not have much. I go in there to purchase storage boxes, etc. Most of their prices are a little "extravagant".

By the way, there is a regular Verlander at the Wal*Mart on Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem. The shell is banged up and I left it. They had one Big Papi (shell damaged) and several reg Howard's.

I decided to stop by the local Kay Bee Toys near my folks up in Boston while we were there this past week...took my kids and then went back to see what kind of sports figures they had kickin' around. Saw some Willis Reed, a Bill Walton, a Larry Johnson, and then...naw, couldn't be...IT WAS !

J/K man - I lost my phone, but I kept calling it to see if anyone had found it. It kept ringing, so I figured someone had it b/c it never died. Come to find out, I left it at my beach house plugged up to the charger down there. I felt like an idiot b/c I had to go out and buy a new phone, I had none of the #'s I had stored in it. However, I have my old phone back now, and I gave my other, newer, phone to my dad. :D :o

I saw that Verlander. It wasn't there before. I had gotten there, I guess, not too long after they put out that case and I counted 11 figs and the Verlander wasn't one of them. There was a Rivera chase that I picked up, but it was banged up pretty bad.
