I seen some NHL 3 inch figs at the target in cary NC. To be honest, they look like crap. They should be giving these 3 inch figures away in happy meals cause nobody buys them.

I made a figure run yesterday in Greensboro. The TRU in Greensboro had the Yao-Shaq box set. I don't collect basketball so I left them. They still had plenty of NHL 6 and some MLB 8 as well as some old figures. Also the Wal*Mart off Bridgeford Parkway had nothing but some NASCAR 1 figures. Maybe one year we might have some good news to report from Wal*Mart.

BDK...I think they have the regular Iverson at Kaybee Toys in Hanes Mall. If not they definitely have it at TRU in Greensboro. I hit both of those yesterday and those were the only two toy stores that I went into so I know it has to be one of those. I don't collect basketball so I did not make a mental note of which location. They also had a regular Duncan and Pippen if anyone is looking for those at Kaybee. They just got in a new case of MLB 8 at Kaybee Toys but the variants were gone. They had a regular Smoltz and a bunch of regular Matsui.

Hey Boogie, funny thing about my trip to TRU in W-S on Tuesday. They had about 15 figures, had at least 1 of everything, but no Melo & Peja so it had obviously been shopped, however I did find a Black Tim Duncan variant :rolleyes: . So if anyone is interested lmk. I need variants from NBA 3, 4, 5 & 6. Looking for a Paul Pierce, Baron Davis, Ben Wallace and Malone as my most wanted, but need several others. Has Walmart hit NBA yet, anyone?

YAY! In the g'ville TRU we got the NHL 3 inch this week to sit around with the other 50 hockey SP's that no one buys. Hockey just isn't that big in this area so why order so many figures? They need to mark down those 3 Bibby's also, then I might buy one. Maybe they will get another case of NBA 6 there someday.

I talked to a girl that works in there and she said there is 4 or 5 guys waiting at the door every morning for them to open. She then said they race back there to where the SP's are to see if they got a new case and nearly wrestle each other over some of them(has to be the variants). She also said that somehow one of them got her home phone number and calls her at home to see when they will get more. I found that hilarious.

Yes...it was NBA 5. Also to add to that post, I checked out Kaybee and EB Games in Hanes Mall yesterday. Kaybee has a bunch of baseball figures and a few hockey. EB Games had a few baseball regulars.

Yeah, I go to Wilson pretty often since its like 20 minutes away from my house. I've had more luck finding variants and chase figs there than anywhere else. Found a gray Smoltz, the Quebec Forsberg and the white MacInnis in the last 2 weeks in Wilson. They don't get SP's very often. The case of NHL 7 was the last thing they've gotten since NFL 7. No MLB 8 or NBA 6 at the Wal Mart there yet. Found the Smoltz at their KB. I find it funny how I just complained the other day about getting so many hockey SP's that no one buys and I find the Forsberg and MacInnis yesterday.

yeah ed it was rough....moving out of our old house wasnt fun....glad we got it sold though......living with the inlaws while our house finishes up..we should be in next month this time....bsoul....i think some stores need 2 consider hockey and its following around these parts..those hockey at tru arent going newhere netime soon..i dont think..and now you said the 3inch hockey r there as well as the 3inch nba.....i dont even check that often...usually only after initial sightings..it gets tedious to me checking and checking.....wife and i are about town alot, so i obviously look during those chances...SORRY SO LONG=)

Hey Triad guys!!! The 3" MLB figures have hit the stores. They had a bunch of figures at the Wal*Mart at Kester Mill Road. I picked up the Sammy Sosa2/Chipper Jones. They had a bunch of A Rod/Eric Gagne as well as Derek Jeter1/Barry Zito. They also had a couple of Ichiro2/Jim Thome. No Prior/Rodriguez or Johnson2/Soriano1.

Now they have a ton of hockey 3 inch that won't sell. Also picked up a reg Pippien and Finley. Left a Duncan, 2 Iversons, a Payton and Malone.

Thanks blkngold01 (Ed) for the compliment. I will be offering even lower than usual prices for Sportspicks at the Raleigh show on Saturday. I have decided to focus more on sportscards in the future, and I would like to free up some space at home that I use now for storing Sportspicks. I have figures from MLB5 and MLB8, NFL6 and NFL7, NHL6 and both mass market and hobby NASCAR. The last couple shows I have been setup on the far right side near the front as you walk into the arena. I'm not sure where I'll be setup for this one, as I didn't request a specific location. My display stands are painted red and yellow, so it shouldn't be too hard to spot me. Just got back from collectors night at W-S TRU. It was pretty good. They offered / opened fresh cases of NBA 6, NHL 6 & 7, and MLB and NHL 3"ers. Picked up a Iverson var.

Met boardmember 84garyclark84. Cool guy, we talked a bit.

All in all it was good. They said that they (depending on turnout & sales ***which looked to be good***) would try to have a night every month.

I, too, went to the TRU collector's night. Overall, I think it went well, but I didn't like the way they handled the distribution of the cases. Not everybody could get to the table, and it became a free for all once he started unloading the boxes. I did manage to snag a Pippen for my buddy, but that's about it. I hope they do it again.

I then went by TRU and to my surprise found a white Iverson and 2 Sonics Paytons from NBA 7. I picked up the Iverson and 1 Payton and hid the other for a fellow boardmember. Just got back from TRU in W-S. I know that they have the Melo/lebron 2 packs in the store b/c I just picked up one. BUT they are not on the floor yet.

If you went to the "Collectors Night" last weekend, you could get an e-mail address and e-mail your want list. I e-mailed and said that I wanted the 2 pack.

I don't know how many they got in, or how many people e-mailed and said that they wanted this 2 pack. Don't know when they will be putting them out; but keep an eye peeled - they got 'em.

Okay...I made a figure run tonight at Hanes Mall. Game Stop has the MLB 9 but here is the deal. They have two regular Dontrelle Willis but both bubble packages are badly damaged. They also have a regular Andruw Jones but it is damaged. They have two regular Mariano Rivera's that are fine. Nothing at Kaybee or EB Games. I have given up on EB Games.

I made a figure run today and WOW what a day that I had. The MLB 9's are at Toys R Us in both Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Also brand new NBA figures at EB Games in Four Seasons. I left the Tim Duncan variant because the package was a little damaged. Also I left a Mariano Rivera at TRU in Greensboro as it was badly damaged. However..I picked a Rivera pinstripe; Garciaparra variant; Dontrelle Willis variant; Pedro Martinez retro; and the Randy Johnson retro in addition to some regulars. There are plenty of regulars around now except Todd Helton.

HEY BSOUL WENT 2 wally world 2nite and mosied on over to tru.....they had a rivera pinstripe but the bubble was horrific and the pant job was less than impressive...also had a johnson expo, but same situation, and a white nomar but the paint looked funny..even the 2 reg riveras had busted bubbles...i did want that fig, but seeing the pose made me leave it , the bubble didnt matter since it would get opened anyway.....no heltons or jones, but i did get a reg willis nomar and ordonez

I made a figure run today at the TRU's in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. There are a few MLB 9's at TRU in Greensboro. They have a couple of regular Andruw Jones and Todd Helton. Okay Triad collectors, we might as well remove TRU in Winston-Salem from our shopping list. Zack, the guy that goes through all of the cases in the back to find the variants has returned back to work there. He quit but now has returned. I knew something was up when I went in on Monday morning and there were two opened cases of NHL 7 on a truck and there was only one variant. However it was badly damaged. I thought that was suspicious and today I found out he was working there again.

I would guarantee that if it had not been for the advance ticket sales, the price would probably have gone up to at least $75.00 since he was basically the number 1 pick. Actually, I think he is signing next Sunday only. I would expect a big crowd on that day. The show is also going on Friday and Saturday. I would consider going to the website listed in an earlier post and examine paying in advance if anyone is interested.
