Hey guys!!! FYI...Denny McLain will be doing a book signing tomorrow night at Ernie Shore Field in Winston-Salem, NC. Frankly I have a hard time feeling sympathy for this guy based on everything that he has done.

The Winston-Salem Warthogs will host former Major League pitcher and two-time Cy Young Award winner Denny McClain at Ernie Shore Field on Monday, August 13. McClain, who was the last pitcher in the major leagues to win 30 games in a season, will be signing autographs and promoting his new book, I Told You I Wasn’t Perfect.

The Warthogs will open a four-game series against the Frederick Keys that evening with the first pitch scheduled for 7 PM. Throughout the game, fans are encouraged to visit with McLain, whose additional accolades include two-time World Series Champion, three-time All-Star and American League MVP in 1968.

Fans will have an opportunity to purchase autographed photographs, T-shirts depicting his 31 win season and autographed baseballs. McLain will also be signing and selling his new book, I Told You I Wasn’t Perfect, which details the roller coaster life of McLain from a superstar in baseball to a inmate in federal prison.

After you join or create a Live Draft league, you will have the opportunity to make changes to NFL.com's default Rank List, which is a list of all NFL players that are eligible to be drafted, ranked from best to worst by our Fantasy experts.
It is recommended that you, prior to your draft, organize the Rank List according to your own player preferences. However, you are welcome to leave the Rank List in the order our experts have provided. During the live draft NFL.com will use your Rank List as a backup in case your time limit expires before you make a pick (explained below). If you decide to make changes to your Rank List, you will have until approximately 24 hours prior to your draft time to do so. At that time, the Rank list will be closed and considered ready for the draft. On draft day there will be a "Draft Room" link at the top of your League Home page. The link is also available in the Draft Prep column located to the left side of the screen. This link will allow entry into the draft room. During the Live Draft, each team will have 90 seconds to select an NFL player. The order of the draft will be randomly generated between midnight and 6:00 AM ET either the day of, or the day before the draft. Just to let people know, we got in our cases in our Kannapolis Store today and each case we received only had 1 Earl Campbell, 1 of each Reggie, 2 Bo, 2 Elway, 2 Staubach and 3 Marino. Not sure what came into our Welcome store, I won't be there until late tonite to check out the cases and put them out.

So far we have found chases of Elway (white Jersey) and Staubach (3 color helmet stripe) and haven't seen other chase pieces yet. Did notice in the Marino piece there is a nice difference in the amount of grass stains on his shoulder between the ones from our solid cases and the ones from random cases.

My store in welcome in located on old highway 52 in Welcome just about 400-500 feet north of Richard Childress Racing. Both stores are different in setup as the welcome store is about 85% racing memorabilia and assorted other stuff whereas my store in Kannapolis is an even mixture of Sports Cards, Memorabilia and Racing collectibles. Don't know what the rules are about posting addresses and phone numbers here so if you want more info feel free to PM me or you can catch me on aim.

There was very minor damage - only 1 of the 12 was "badly" beat up, but I opened that one anyway.

Just posting a message to give an update. First of all, GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!, I've been pumped up about that win all week. I found me 3 of the Sports Illustrateds today. I also went to Toys-R-Us today and they had the new NFL Legends, they had all but the Bo Jackson and Reggie White Packers. I picked up a Reggie White Eagles than got my Yetti from the Cars series. The high school team I help coach is now 3-1 and keeps me busy with about 65-70 hours a week with teaching and coaching. Boxed Versions of Manning, Urlacher and David Ortiz just arrived today. THese look sharp, i especially like the Ortiz as it has his helmet sitting on the ground near the base. Pretty sharp, always love these boxed pieces as for some reason the detail just seems better to me.

I went to a near by out of town GameStop. I go in and see there are only ten figures on the pegs. I'm thinking someone has beat me to them. So I go through them and to my surprise I find a red Emmitt Smith and a Chief's Rich Gannon. I asked the salesperson if they had anything else and he say no. The Charlotte Bobcats embark on a six-city tour throughout North and South Carolina beginning on Wednesday, September 12, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, as part of their fourth annual Carolinas Caravan.

The tour began in 2004 as an avenue for the Bobcats to reach out to fans outside of Charlotte and has grown each year.

This year’s Carolinas Caravan also includes stops on Thursday, September 13, in Asheville, as well as Greensboro on September 19, Gastonia on September 20, Lake Norman on September 26 and Raleigh on September 27.

"This is a great opportunity to reach out to fans in different parts of the Carolinas and acquaint them with the excitement of Bobcats basketball," said Bobcats President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield.
Carolinas Caravan events will include numerous Bobcats executives, coaches and players such as Head Coach Sam Vincent, Assistant Coaches Paul Mokeski and Jeff Capel and players Jason Richardson, Raymond Felton, Matt Carroll, Adam Morrison and Ryan Hollins. Director of Player Personnel Buzz Peterson will make a special appearance in his native Asheville at Ira B. Jones Elementary School, which he attended. Other Bobcats personalities may also appear at the respective stops.

Tomorrow, the families are going skating in the morning, having a barbeque lunch at the school and then having a dinner and an 80s band at night. It will be interesting to see how everyone has turned out. Alot of me has turned out, actually bulged out. I just hope I am not the guy who gets all the comments about weight...

The Tar Heel says, "Sounds reasonable to me. Go ahead and make a toast."

So the Dookey opens the bottle. He says, "To former rivals, now friends." After sucking down half of it, he hands the bottle to the Tar Heel and says, "Your turn."

The cool Tar Heel calmly twists the cap on the bottle, throws the rest of the bottle over the bridge into the river and says, "Nah, I think I'll just wait for the cops to show up."

Its almost basketball time on Tobacco Road. GO HEELS!!!

While crossing a narrow bridge they hit each other head-on, mangling both cars.

The Tar Heel fan manages to climb out of his car and survey the damage. He looks at his twisted car and says, "Man, I'm lucky to be alive."

Likewise, the Duke fan gets out of his car uninjured, he too, feeling fortunate to have survived.

The Blue Devil fan walks over to the Tar Heel and says, "Hey, man, I think this is a sign that we should put away our petty differences and live as friends instead of being rivals."

I guess its not a matter of being lopsided so much as being offered the same trade every time it gets rejected. everytime the trade is offered, i reject, don't want to do it. next day i get the same trade offer. Even when i add a note, saying no, or please stop trading, guess whats in my inbox the next day.

i guess i was just frustrated by being hassled with the same rejected trade all the time. if i offered to trade someone and they rejected i wouldn't keep making the offer. thats just me.

FYI, Jim Rice is going to be at Legends Autographs in Clayton on November 3. A VIP ticket is $50 which includes two autographs and you are at the front of the line. Not bad if I was a Red Sox Nation fanatic. FenwayP...I know you will be there in front of the line?

Someone I work with told me about that ! Thanks for the info...not sure if I will make it, but certainly will try. Do you know what he will sign for that $50 price ? Are there any other rules I should know about ? I already have some autographs of Jim Ed from back in 1975, but might go to meet him and get a couple more !
