I have a hockey question for any of the boardies. Hockey season is opening this week and I have ticket for the Sabres'Hurricanes' game on October 24 at the RBC. I am looking to get some autographs from the Sabres. For the boardies, where is the easiest place to get autographs? I know that sometimes they stay at the Embassy Suites in Cary but I have heard that security will have you arrested if they catch you. Any experiences or advice?

Go on the Canes website and check the practice schedule for that day and the day before, they will have a practice that morning see if you can find out who practices first. They will run off of the Hotel property. Hope this helps and good luck.

Looks like pretty much all of the FF league games were blowouts this week.

Even though I have a losing record, I can't tell you guys how much I love our league compard to others. I'm also playing on Yahoo for the first time in a 16 man league and nothing and I mean nothing is available with the free agent players. With our league, great quality players are always available especially when you need a bye week replacement :cool:

Hastleback killed me today with only 2 points, but I cannot complain so far. Boogie, I have to admit, I got some serious junk yardage from my wr's the last few minutes of all three ball games today. I thought Brady alone was going to kill me. I did not pick my team b/c i was not in town or near a computer. It looks like I made a good choice...by not picking myself. I did make a few adjustments with bowe and dayne (not for long when ahman gets back) so I can take a little credit for some points, but not much.

The panthers looked awful. Thank goodness the aints are terrible right now.

Dear god my FF team was craptacular this weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme will miss the rest of the season after deciding to undergo surgery on his right elbow.

Coach John Fox said Monday that Delhomme had trouble throwing the ball earlier in the day. Delhomme then made the decision to have surgery next week.

Delhomme sustained what the team called a strained right elbow when he was sacked in Carolina's win over Atlanta on Sept. 23. David Carr replaced him the last two games, when Delhomme was listed as the No. 3 quarterback as he considered whether to have surgery.

Delhomme was off to a good start. He had completed 64 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and one interception.

The move leaves the Panthers in need of another quarterback. Carr suffered a back injury in the Panthers' win over New Orleans Sunday and his status for next week's game at Arizona is uncertain.

Hey guys, just dropping in. It has been a long couple of weeks, the team has dropped 4 straight with 3 more and a bye week to go. The gf and I headed up the mountain Sat for Appalachian's homecoming, that place was packed and some nice improvements going on. I was snooping around on here the other day and saw that the NFL 15 surprise figure was William Thomas, a linemen. If everyone could be on the lookout for 2 of these I would appreciate it. Panthers QB Carr misses second straight practice; Testaverde on deck

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback David Carr missed practice for a second straight day Thursday with a sore back, increasing the chances 43-year-old Vinny Testaverde could start on Sunday at Arizona.

Testaverde, signed on Wednesday, and undrafted rookie Matt Moore, signed just over a month ago, took all the snaps in practice for the banged-up Panthers. Coach John Fox wouldn't say which QB he'd use if Carr can't play Sunday.

Carr became Carolina's No. 1 quarterback when Jake Delhomme left a win over Atlanta on Sept. 23 with a right elbow injury. Delhomme has since decided to undergo season-ending surgery.

Carr was injured when his back bent awkwardly when he was sacked by Will Smith in the second quarter of Sunday's game at New Orleans.

He was carted into the locker room and replaced by Moore, who threw a 43-yard pass to Keary Colbert in a drive that produced a field goal.

Carr, after receiving treatment and taking several pain pills, returned in the second half against the Saints. He threw a touchdown pass to Steve Smith in Carolina's come-from-behind win.

But Carr has been able to do little since. He said Wednesday he's been receiving around-the-clock treatment. He watched Thursday's practice while wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

Fox wouldn't say whether he expected Carr to practice Friday.

"I was hopeful he would today, but he did not," Fox said. "We'll see what happens."
Testaverde went through his second practice with the Panthers on Thursday as he scrambles to learn the offense and get acclimated with Smith, Carolina's top receiver.
Testaverde, who turns 44 next month, was cut by New England in the preseason, Entering his 21st NFL season, Testaverde has impressed his new teammates with his arm strength and how quickly he's picked up the offense.

"He's got some familiarity with the system we've run and the coaches we have here," Fox said. "Hopefully he's a quick study. I think he is and he's shown that ability just in the last two days."

Moore, who played at Oregon State, was signed in September after being one of Dallas' final cuts before the regular season. It's uncertain how much confidence the coaching staff has in him to start.

The Panthers also lost Brett Basanez, projected to be the No. 3 QB, to a season-ending wrist injury in the preseason.

Carolina Panthers QB Jake Delhomme underwent ligament-replacement surgery on his right elbow Thursday. Delhomme decided last week to have the season-ending procedure, which calls for replacing the damaged ligament with a tendon from another part of the body. Time for another update. We ended up playing our game last night due to all the rain we had Thurs/Fri. We played the number 7 team in the state, South View and lost 47-23 that puts us at a dissapointing 3-7. We will probably not make the playoffs even if we pick up our 4th win next week. I also missed out on all the college football games yest since I had to be at school at 12. But I did see Appalachian State won, so that is good. Haven't found any new SP's, but I'm still looking for William Thomas x2 for the linemen collection. I'm also looking for the follwing football cards: offensive linemen 99-current, former NC college or high school players and any XFL, USFL, WFL etc cards. I hope everyone is doing well and I can get on here more when the season is over.

Guys, this is a North Carolina thread, not a New Jersey thread, enough of the Blue Devils...It is OK, gentlemen, there has to be some homegrown southern yankees to pull for the devils...Our starting first baseman and student body president from last year went to duke (and i cried), so I know they let a few local boys and girls in...Man, I love this time of the year with football and college basketball...the poop talking starts...and all the true yankees who relocate here always question why people are so into college b-ball and then we have to explain that we were so backwards and backwoods hur in da nurth curalina that we did not have our own pro teams until a few years ago, so our loyalties rest with our alma maters, and so on...and we pray that the panthers will make a run, only to be not so upset b/c we are also still pulling deep down for the team we used to pull for when we were kids when there were no panthers to pull for (skins, cowboys, steelers, dolphins)...

I can't believe the wide open layups and shots they missed! All that and Curry only hit 2 three pointers. I knew Davidson would give them a decent game but not that close.

I thought the heels were going to lose that game before it even started...Davidson won 29 games last year and is a legit team and Curry is a legit player...As is evident in college football, there is a lot more parity in college sports...garner-webb? unc-g? i love the fact that there are alot of really good teams that will give the traditional schools a run for their money or actually beat them...i hope the heels do not lose to any of these teams, but I would much rather play a solid davidson team every night then some of the others that are on our schedule...I have watched the impact of aau and the "specialization" of high school athletes the last several years, and freshmen are not really freshmen b/c these kids are playing their sport all year long...curry looked awesome last year and started this year great based on last night and that kid could play at any school in the country...Even though it was the first game, we did not look that good...Was it davidson or was it the heels? I would like to give more credit to the wildcats, but I really was not impressed with thompson or stevenson, and lawson had a boo game...on the other hand, frasor looked good...we will see as the season goes on, but I think there could be a new number one every week, just like football

pimpim, good gravy, i had no idea a team could score that many points...i really did not do that bad besides not starting johnson for the first time and going with the cardinals defense... but over 140 points is insane! i knew i was in trouble after thursday when white had 16 points, but i thought i might do alright when romo only had 17, b/c normally he lights it up...i did not even stand a chance with that team this week! i am on a tailspin downward right now...i cant stop the bleeding!!!

on another note, i sent off for a redemption card to Upper Deck for an Elvin Hayes chronology auto letter patch, or something like that...i pulled it and was simply redeeming it...i got two cards today from upper deck b/c that card was not available...they were a gilbert arenas auto and a carmelo anthony auto, both from 04-05...neither are numbered, but they are definitely worth alot more than that boo boo elvin hayes auto...not a bad deal from upper deck this time...

I hate duke!!!! but they scare the poop out of me this year...they looked awesome tuesday night, and i hate to admit it, but they looked alot better than the heels at this point of the season...they are quick, fast, athletic and can shoot the lights out...those freshmen are the best three players on that team...i knew we should have kicked them hard while they were down last year b/c that was the only shot anyone is going to have for awhile...man, i have hated them for 38 years but I love watching good basketball teams...
