Just wondering if you have any advice on how to get a ticket to the opening round on Friday in Raleigh? I'm only wanting to see the IU/Arkansas game at 9:40pm (being a diehard IU fan) and I just need one ticket (my wife is a UK fan).

Do you think it would be possible to get a ticket from a scalper on the street at night time? Or is the only way to get them is in the morning when the games start?

I'm used to showing up the day of a game and just buying a ticket before tip-off or right after. I've never gone to a Tourney game before, though.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you are coming up US1 I would tell you to hit 40W like you are going towards Durham/RDU Airport. Then take what I believe is exit 290 (54/Chapel Hill Rd.) and turn left at the light. I believe the 3rd light is NE Maynard .. take a right there. Keep going about 8 miles ... you will pass a Volvo Dealership on the left - keep going as the road goes up a hill and around a left curve, you will see an Atlantic Tire on the left. Cardiacs is attached to the Tire place. If you pass the turn, you can go to the light and make a Uturn.
The important thing is their hours: Mon/Tues/Thur/Fri 5pm-9pm, Sat 12pm-9pm Closed Sun/Wed

i will be 39 in a couple of weeks and started pulling for them in the early 80s...i hate they are not on tbs anymore...i cannot get any games at all...a couple of years ago i started getting the mlb package to watch the ones not on tbs...in cary, we do not get sports south or the fox channel, whatever it is that plays the braves...so i get to watch every game at a cost of $160! i love how mlb blocks out the nationals and orioles games in this area...so we really get no baseball other than the fox saturday, espn games, and now the tbs sunday games...the mlb package is expensive but worth it...now that basketball is almost over, boogie, we can get along for a couple of seasons!!

cut the thing to 4 and ran out of comeback gas...i wish i had not watched the comeback, for the love of God...i had accepted defeat 10 minutes into the game...i flipped the tv around, and kept checking back...then we gradually make a comeback, green has a 3 rim in and out for a one possession game, and kansas goes on a big run...they looked dominant the first 15 minutes of the game...alot different than that davidson game...their defense was awesome...they were alot better than us tonight...i bet we lose lawson (even though his stock is not high, he will go if he is a first rounder) and that is it, at least i hope...tyler is not leaving...for 39 years, with the exception of 3 years we won it and the couple of years connected to doherty, i have watched us lose in the ncaa and dream of next year...might as well continue the tradition...

boogie, here is a whole bunch of crap b/c i am trying to avoid doing work...the doherty years have been chronicled repeatedly...there was alot more to his tenure than felton, mays and mccants...each one of those players has recruiting and playing stories of doherty that go beyond the simple notion that roy took doherty's players to a championship...the years following dean were impossible years for anyone to step into...when k retires, duke will be faced with tough decisions and people will be critical of whoever gets the job...people can say whatever they want about dawkins, but players come to duke for K, not relationships they build with dawkins or whoever during recruiting. k is duke, not anyone else. when k leaves, duke will be lucky if they don't face the same dropoff that unc dealt with. smith was unc. i love roy, but he ain't dean. he is the closest thing we can get to dean, but he will have to continue to build his legacy and will continue to be compared to dean. i think the post-dean years have proven that most schools generally only get one great coach for an EXTENDED period of time. if roy coaches another 10 years, he will still only be at unc as head coach half the time dean was...look at indiana and knight and how much of a disaster that has turned into. the current great programs may have long histories and several coaches that win, but most of them became great programs b/c of one great coach that stayed at a school for a really long time...

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina coach Roy Williams says he has met with Tyler Hansbrough, Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington about a possible leap to the NBA.

I had a really good time at the Red/White game Saturday. The meet and greet was pretty cool, all the players seemed really generous. Plus I got to meet Manny Lawson, he was a pretty cool guy as well. After the game, we went to Crabtree Valley to kill some time...and who do we see there? Gavin Grant. I shake his hand and talk for a little bit and keep walking. Two stores later....I see JJ Hickson. Of course I have to stop and say hello. I shake his hand and have a 15-20 min conversation with him. JJ is a really cool guy and I hope he does well in the NBA. Well, thats my weekend story.

One of Tim Mcgraws guitar players gave her a pick & the drummer gave her one of his sticks & got a ticket stub signed by Tim Mcgraw and it was a GREAT SHOW.

Me either. I just had one signed by her when it came out. They happened to be in town for RAW. Was lucky enough to get on TV that night. Had clips of me getting it signed and posing for pictures with her.

Airfan...are you heading down to Durham today? Buchholz is actually on the Pawsox roster and according to the Red Sox website there will be no more roster moves until at least Tuesday. However the expected roster move will be Justin Masterson to the Red Sox to take DiceK's place. I am probably going to be there around 3 or so.
