On Saturday, Christy Hemme and Velvet Sky will be there. Hemme was on the cover of Playboy at one time and both of them are in TNA...I believe.

Back from the Legends show. I got ***lord Perry on a baseball and on a mini-helmet. I hated to drop the dollars but that is one of the HOF that I had been unable to get free. I had been trying for three years and I finally gave it up. Overall...a great experience. Got a pic made with him. A very, very nice guy. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet him personally. It did not appear that many people showed up. In fact, I was the second person that I saw get an autograph in a fifteen minute time period.

Yeah, it looks like Legends ends up basically paying for the celebrity to sign a bunch of stuff for them, and if anyone else pays for an autograph, it's a bonus. I stopped by there on Friday, to check out the ladies. I only saw a couple of people that actually got something signed. Outside of that, it was the promoter having stacks of photos signed. And, this is the creepy part.... he had Velvet Skye sign about 20 pairs...of panties. I kid you not! And he's taking pictures the whole time this is going on, with his 8 y.o kid standing right next to him. I'm sorry, but that just screams out classless. I know that people will probably end up buying them on ebay, but come on. Show some morals....

On a related note, it didn't look like they were selling any of their pieces. Just alot of people looking. And it looks like they still have a bunch of the same stuff that they've had for years. I wonder how they're making money???

I was wondering the same thing. I arrived and Perry has eluded me for years. I have been trying to get him free but no luck. I decided to go ahead and pay the fee. I arrived and I looked on their table for ten minutes or so. There was one guy getting an autograph. I had my backpack and I took out my baseball, picked up my ticket, and then looked some more. I took my time because I was in no hurry. After 15 minutes or so, I went over and acquired my autograph. I was around the general area for 30 minutes or more. There might have been some other customers but I did not see any. Perhaps they will get their money back from their own items. I thought a lot of their stuff was a little "pricey".

pumped about the return of the three heels, but on a better note, our centerfielder is going to sign with carolina...i am pretty pumped about it...a couple of recruits for next year were drafted and that opened a spot...he had not committed yet, and unc called about him...we had our centerfielder from the year before taken by the pirates in the 4th round in 2007(by the way, he will have his first card in the 2008 bowman chrome series), and now our center fielder from this past year will be playing in chapel hill...both of these kids played baseball year round, and it is great to see their hard work pay off...

I have not posted in several days. The South Atlantic League All Star Game in Greensboro was a lot of fun on Tuesday night. The home run derby was awesome. Michael Burgess, the Nationals' 2007 first round draft pick crushed a couple of pitches off the facade of the buildings across the street. Very, very impressive!!! Greensboro did the All Star game right!!!

Deceided to take my daughter to Crabtree Mall today and I am sure glad I did. Strolled in Champs Sports and much to my surprise was a Josh Hamilton Surprise Figure staring right at me on the front peg. I guess the rumors of them moving Felton are true. Don't know why? I thought he was pretty damn good. They wasted that 20th pic on a guy who avg. 5 points a game in France. What the holy hell? Demarcus Nelson didn't get drafted. I was a bit surprised by that. I thought he would atleast be a mid to late 2nd round pick.

No doubt they should have taken Lopez. There surely would have been another PG there at 20th pick because they took another in the second round. A caller into the local afternoon sports talk show said MJ was spotted w/ Chris Rock @ the Epicenter here in Charlotte lighting up a big cigar after the 20th pick. Supposedly the Frenchman was taken for his upside and his defense. Defense and the French- not likely.If he averaged 5 points & 5 boards in France that probably extrapolates to 1 and 1 in the NBA.

Went to Wrightsville Beach the past 3 days and stopped by the Toys R Us. I was amazed at the QUANTITY and VARIETY of figures they had (especially compared to Cary TRU). Among others, I saw the following:

Maris/Mantle 2-pack (Commentary: UGLIEST 2-Pack ever made; shiny figures, and just BUTT ugly)
MLB 22: 3 Schilling, 1 Reyes, 1 Jones, 3 Ichiro, 3 Jeter
3 Inch MLB (looked like a new case with Varitek, Ortiz, Griffey, Pujols, etc, etc)
4 NFL Larry Johnson figures
4 NFL Shaun Alexander Figures
Other random MLB Cooperstown, NHL, MLB figures

I bought 1 MLB 22 Schilling fig, 2 White Varitek 3" and 2 Red Ortiz 3"...still can't get over how poor the overall paint job was on that Maris-Mantle 2-Pack...YUCK !

One Walmart there in Wilmington had 2 Bo Jackson Raiders figs, and that was it.

Went with the family to the Mudcats vs. Huntsville Stars game last Saturday (6/28) and sat in the 1st row right by the Stars' dugout. Got to talk to Don Money (former Brewer from the 70's) who is now their Manager and he signed a ball for my 6-year old son...he was a very nice guy...kinda cool to meet him. Also got to watch Matt LaPorta in one of his last few games as a member of the Brewer organization. Mat Hamels was actually more impressive in that game for Huntsville, but I'm sure LaPorta is as good as people say. The highlight of the night for us, though, was that each of my 3 kids got a free Tim Wakefield Bobblehead as a member of the Mudcats !! Very cool...

I got two autographs in Durham this afternoon. I caught Francisco Liriano coming into the park around 2 or so and he signed an 8 X 10 photograph. Around 4 P.M., Danny Graves showed up and I got his autograph on an 11 X 14 photograph that I took when he was in Cincinnati in 2003.

Josh Hamilton was "mashing" last night. That was extremely impressive. I still cannot believe that the Reds traded him although they were desperate for pitching. I wish that we had kept Hamilton and traded Adam Dunn. However the Reds thought that Josh would not be durable over an entire season. We will see!!!

I know of several people who are already chuckling at the fact that LaPorta is going to HAVE to sign, whether he likes it or not. Someone mentioned that he might ask to personalize everything.

I actually talk to someone in front office for the Huntsville Stars, and she actually told me that when he was traded, NO ONE in the organization was sad to see him go. All I could say was WOW!

Probably looking at 10-15 folks. 2 of the cases arrived ... hoping the other 2 show up since they have heard from folks and at least a case and a half is already "spoken" for, not sold yet, just someone saying they want this many or that many. If you do come out be sure to let me know who you are.

I put the base in the large envelope as well as the smaller one which was self addressed and postage paid. I included a nice letter and a blue Sharpie. He mailed the base back with his HOF year on it. I was impressed with the fact that it was returned so soon. I have just mailed Guy Lafleur a base to Canada and I am excited to see how that turns out.

I went to the card show today at the fair grounds. Wasn't really too impressed. The wife gave me a $250 budget since tomorrow is my B-day, but I only spent like $25 lol And most of that was for my kids....

Picked up a 07 Cam Ward Auto card #'d to 50
Picked up a 08 team set of KC Chiefs $3.00
Picked up a 90 complete set of Topps football $5.00
