Your team looks awesome right now. I think Edwards is gonna falter, and I will probably choose the wrong back from here on out. bush is back now, so i have four pretty good backs to choose from, but i will probably have the highest scorer sitting on my bench! i have been lucky this year so far b/c in most games, usually the other guy's big player has either been hurt or in the bye week. i did not have to face romo or peterson or larry johnson, for example, and this week it looks like portis might be out. it is pure luck. i fear my luck is running out. :eek:

Luckily our house wasn't damaged but 10 minutes up the road in Elm City and a couple miles from my MIL's house there were some that are completely gone. One death in that area so far. I'm hearing two dead in Kenly which was in that same path.

Me and the wife had a great time in Greensboro today. Went to the Triad show at the Coliseum. Bought a bunch of GI Joes I needed. Then went to the Four Seasons Mall. Man the arcade upstairs is virtually gone. All the old games that used to be in there are 75% gone. Even the DDR game was dead. Then found out my wife's favorite store Williams-Sonoma had moved across town on Friendly Ave. So we went over there and loved The Shops on Friendly. Very nice area there! Then we headed back to Four Seasons to the huge Grand Theatre there and watched Changleing. Then headed to the Toys R Us down on the right. Snagged the 2 Jordan Upper Deck Pro Shots figures. Went to Chili's. 30 minute wait....pass. Went across the street to Hams. 30 minute wait.....pass. So we headed back towards Battleground and stopped at Brixx Pizza. Pretty good. Headed home after that. We really love Greensboro. :D

The Shops at Friendly are very nice...a little pricey but nice. The thing that I like so much about The Shops is that especially now with the Christmas lights, it has the feel of an "old timey" town. I am not much of a traditionalist when it comes to things like that but the Shops are nice. I work just across the road from the Shops so I am there everyday!!!

The eating has already begun...by the way, did anyone see the davidson score last night? i read the espn article, and got ticked off reading what the loyola coach was saying...his team was getting killed, basically playing 3 on 4, and he stayed with two defenders attached to curry...that guy just wanted national attention by holding curry scoreless, and cared less that his strategy was killing his team...he basically went into the game with the mentality that his team could not win...i can see trying the strategy at the beginning, but it obviously did not work...coaches make adjustments...he stuck with a strategy that was not working just to prevent curry from scoring...i am not saying that loyola would have won the game without that absurd strategy, but they might have had a better chance making adjustments during the game...

The TRU in Winston-Salem has the new NHL Legends figs. They had a Messier in both the Oilers and Rangers uniform, one Stan Makita, two Gordie Howe's and that was it. They also had a bunch of Jordan and Tiger Woods' Upper Decks.

(I would never be this happy if it were Duke) That all went down the toilet after listening to O'Brian's comments about the self annointed "State Champions?" What a load of crap. And I heard during the State game yesterday that there are even State Champion TShirts made up? LAUGHABLE!!!! This probably also brought to you by those that created the slogan "RED MEANS GO" Really? Remind me to look both ways when chugging down Western Blvd at each of the intersections. :rolleyes: ... State, nor my Heels, won anything this year but a few games, enough to get each team in to a bowl. When our teams win their perspective bowl game, then they can be called a XXXXXXX Bowl Champ. Until then Tom, zip it and quit coming up with imaginary championships. 6-6 or 8-4, I would rather be 8-4 ... :rolleyes: Reminds me of Howard Dean a few years ago when he lost his marbles .... Benefit planned for former NBA player injured in ATV wreck

Posted: Today at 7:31 p.m.

Durham, N.C. — Friends in Durham are rallying around former pro-basketball player Rodney Rogers.

Rogers, who lives in the Triangle, suffered serious injuries in an all-terrain vehicle crash Friday night in Vance County.

A horseback riding group, "Black Trail Riders," said Sunday they are planning a benefit ride in a few weeks for Rogers.

Friends say his condition is uncertain and that he may have suffered some paralysis.

Rogers played basketball for Hillside High School in Durham and Wake Forest University. In 1993, he left Wake Forest in his junior season for the NBA and was selected ninth in the draft by the Denver Nuggets.

We beat ECU when they came off two big victories over VT and West Virginia and everyone was talking about the Pirates being BCS busters, we beat Duke (who cares), we beat a ranked Wake Forest team, and we beat a Carolina team that would have been ACC champs if they had won. Sounds like a big deal to me. Especially seeing how we were 2-6 before the gauntlet. And you bring up records. Need I remind you of how many players for the Pack were injured throughout the year or the fact that we were starting a redshirt freshman at QB? I'm not using that as an excuse, but when you have 13 starters out at key positions playing the number 9 toughest schedule in the nation you're not going to get too many victories, I dont care what team you are.

I have TONS of respect for some of the players over there ... matter of fact I had the pleasure of meeting Willie Young over the summer and I have been working on a custom for him. That oklahoma game sure was close last night!!! didn't see that one coming, right?

the craziest thing yesterday was watching duke get beat off the dribble constantly by a real quick michigan team. i did not watch their first matchup this year, but was really impressed with michigan yesterday. the devils missed an awful lot of threes, which they usually do not. i did think that big zoubek kid played pretty well when he was in there, but they lose some quickness obviously when he is in. he could provide a really nice inside/outside combo. i am not used to seeing the devils having a 7 foot traditional center out there. where did greg paulus go? the kid starts for three years, and nolan smith has taken his spot? i know smith is good, but i was shocked to see how little paulus played yesterday during the parts of the game I watched. is paulus in the dog house, or is smith just that much better? that game simply shocked me b/c the dookies killed purdue the other night, and i thought they were playing awesome right now.

I am in on the 10 bucks, although i think i am throwing away money! i went through the games this year, and I am not sure how I won as many as I did...it really depends on luck...it seems for the last 10 weeks, I had just enough points to get by, and the big studs on the other teams had bad weeks...the guys i really expected a lot from were my two browns guys, winslow and edwards, and they have sucked pretty much all year...westbrook has been up and down, and bush has been injured...i look at some of the other teams in our league, and am shocked at the way the season evolved...this was a really weird year for the fantasy stuff, but obviously, i am not complaining...i really enjoy doing it whether i finished out of the playoffs like the last two years, or got into the playoffs this year...count me in for the 10, fellas...

How about my Demon Deacons ranked all the way up at #6 in both polls? Led by 4 at the half tonight at East Carolina, and then proceeded to DESTROY them by 41 after a dominating second half in which they outscored ECU 54-17. They have looked very good so far, but after Radford next week, their schedule will get a lot tougher. So far, they have not played a great schedule at all, but they have also layed a whoopin' on most of those lesser opponents. We shall see. I think they are a bit overrated at #6 in the nation, as they need to take care of the ball better against teams going forward. They are young, so hopefully they can only improve as the season goes on.

i knew that panthers game was going to be close...when kasay missed that field goal, i saw visions of the game turning, and sure enough, the saints almost pulled that thing out...all i could see was a 31-30 Saints win to remind me of the bowl game yesterday!!! the panthers have to put together four quarters from here on out...we looked great in the first half against the giants, and then blew it...we looked great in the first THREE quarters against the saints, and almost blew it...steve smith saved our arses today with that unbelievable grab...in any case, here's to the panthers and their 2008 division championship!!! off to the heels/rutgers game tonight

By the way, I received a very nice Christmas present..."a pink slip". My company announced on Monday, December 29 that they are shutting down the Greensboro office on February 27. I was in my 14th year with the company so I will be "hitting the streets" in the next 10 days or so on the job search. Unbelievable is all that I can say right now but I am a firm believer in the cliche that "when one door closes, another door opens."

Tough loss for Wake last night. They just never found a good groove despite coming back from 2 big deficits. Hard to believe they had no free throw attempts in the 1st half and that Teague never attempted a free throw in the whole game. To me that means they were completely taken out of their game. Teague barely touched the ball in the final 2 minutes. Well, Duke should be #1 next week and Wake will probably drop 3-5 spots in both polls...
