Thanks BDK I called Gamestop in University area and they said most places are sold out. They just opened a new store on West Blvd and they said it had 2 left, when I called they were all gone. Not a big deal. On the plus side the guy talked me into pre-ordering Madden with them and now i can pick it up on the 9th at 9am. He said they were allowed 56 copies to sell on Sunday.

Concord TRU put out some NFL and Cooperstown today, I got two White Browns and two Retro Holts. They also put out a case of NASCAR2. The Concord EB had nine NFL figs left, including another Brown variant that I left. My friend hit the Gastonia TRU and said they had put out NFL and Cooperstwon several days ago, somehow there was still a Bosox Seaver he picked up. Haven't seen 12" NFL anywhere here in the Charlotte area yet.

Here is the deal guys!!! Okay...TRU in Winston-Salem has about ten of the Randy Moss figures. They are all in mint condition and are sitting on the floor beside the display counter. There are four new NFL figures but no variants...there was a Peyton Manning, an Ahman Green, and a couple of others that I cannot recall. There were four or five Sammy Sosa/Todd Helton doubles also in mint condition. Okay....EB Games in Hanes Mall...two new Cooperstown figures...Seaver and Jackson regulars. Kaybee Toys in Hanes Mall...nothing but some old figures. Now....Game Stop in Hanes Mall...they had a brand new case of Cooperstown....no variants. They have several of the new NASCAR figures...I don't collect them but they had a pair of Richard Petty, two Jimmie Johnson, a Jeff Gordon, and a Dale, Jr. Also....the door was open to the stock room and there was a variant Ahman Green hanging on a peg. If you do not believe me...just open the door and look straight ahead. It is hanging beside of a regular Green and a pinstriped Jeter is hanging to the left and below it. Happy shopping!!!

I used to set up at card shows, now I just go and spend all my money. I know ed and steve from the board set up. Zubaslava and Bluedevils, have you all set up before? It is always good to know that board members are setting up. My problem was always that I would buy and buy and buy, and then when I got too many figs, I would set up and sell. I never made any money because I was always selling for less than I bought it for. Hell, I teach business and economics, so you would think I would have been smarter & charged more for the figs. The thrill for me has always been the search...

The card show is this coming Friday (3-8), Saturday (10-5) and Sunday (10-4) at the Kerr Scott Building on the State Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are located at the corner of Blue Ridge Road and Hillsborough Street. There is an exit on I-40 for Blue Ridge Road (can't remember the number), but just get off there and head south on Blue Ridge. The entrance closest to the Kerr Scott Building is just before the intersection of Blue Ridge and Hillsborough. The admission is $5 daily. Tom Burleson will be there Saturday for autographs.

There were some nfl 8 regs (no holt) on the pegs, and upon further exploring, I found one Vick 12 inch Red. There were also about 24 nascar figs on the top shelf of the same aisle. i did not get them down, because i have no interest in them and could not tell you if there were any variants or not...the vick was 28.47 without tax, pretty steep, but i love those 12 inchers...sounds a little ***, doesn't it? 12 INCH MCFARLANE FIGS

That's funny :D I am just an avid collector...I work in Clayton, NC, so I pass two WalMart's every day and check frequently at those...I used to work in RTP where I could check lots of places in Brier Creek/Durham Area on lunch breaks, but am unable to do that now. Between that and being a Dad of three young kids who enjoy going to Target/Walmart/TRU on Saturday's when my wife is working (she's a veterinarian), I get around...glad it helps you when I post ! Okay Triad football guys!!! I did a toy run late last night (midnight) and early this morning. The Wal*Mart on Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem, NC had four 18" Michael Vick's. The TRU in Silas Creek Crossing in Winston-Salem had a bunch of 18" Donovan McNabb and Randy Moss. Both places had some NFL but no variants. Also the TRU had a new bunch of NASCAR figs. I do not collect football or NASCAR so I left all of them.

I made a complete figure run yesterday and checked out both Greensboro and Winston-Salem TRU's, EB Games, and Kaybee Toys. Basically I found nothing but regular figures everywhere. The Cooperstown figures were everywhere but no variants. However...I found a couple of regular hockey figures at the Goodwill store in Winston-Salem near the LJVM. I found out that Target brought a bunch of figs that they could not sell to that location. I bought a couple of hockey regulars that I did not have and I picked them up at $3.00 each. They had a bunch of Shaq and Yao 2 packs and all of the bubbles were damaged but they might appeal to the "openers". They were $6.00 each. Also they had a Rob Blake and Shanahan 2 pack which the bubble was badly damaged. It was $6.00. By the way, the NHL Legends series is due in on October 5 in the retail locations in the Triad. Also TRU in Winston-Salem had a bunch of Donovan McNabb and Randy Moss 12" figures.

I said I would be gone, but I don't want to punish NC collectors so I'll update here when I can. My friend drove me over to the Concord TRU(long story) tonight on a hunch, and low and behold there were 3 cases of NFL 9. The employee told me that a 'collector' had already gone through them, but let me look anyway. Luckily, this die hard 'collector' wasn't aware of the blue pants Urlacher. So, needless to say, all chases were pulled(all he remembered was 2 Seau's and a Johnson) except each case still had the Urlacher. So I scored 3 Urlacher variants, 1 Ogden reg(still one there), and 1 12" Urlacher(still one left). There was also plenty of 3' football, 2 White McNabbs, 2 Moss's, and 2 Mannings. Both Johnson's that were left had orange nameplates, and the Holmes had red socks, probably about 6 of them. I'm keeping 1 Urlacher, selling 1, and will trade the last straight up for a Bell variant if any locals have one to spare. I also found 2 Bledsoe's , an opener Lewis variant(will go nicely in my Ravens shrine) and a McNair variant at the exit 60 Walmart Monday night. There was 4 cases on a cart, all opened and picked through, yet these were left. The Lewis and 1 Bledsoe are for me, so I have a:

Got lucky today and found a black Bell and a white Plummer at EB Games in g'ville. I overlooked the Plummer at first and when I got to the register the employee said "You didn't want that white Plummer over there?". So big thanks to him. Also went to TRU and got the 12" Urlacher and Manning.

Found NFL9 at Cary TRU today. Picked up a regular Chad Johnson (with corrected orange nameplate) and left the rest. Therey had the following at 12:45 pm today:

Found NFL 9 at EB at Hanes Mall, W-S last Thursday. Got to open the two cases, picked up Urlacher chase, Bell chase, and Ogden regular, I left 2 more Urlacher chases and a Priest chase. Still havent found the elusive Seau.

I was in Target in Charlotte over the weekend and decided to check to see if NFL 9 had hit Target yet. There were no NFL 9, but there were a lot of new NFL 8 that weren't there a week ago.
