Was there any auto guest at the show? I know originally InsidePitch.com had "TBA" and I emailed Ray several times asking who was going to be there and never got an answer. Usually the auto guest show up courtesy of CSA, but they had nothing on their site either. Just curious as I didn't make it due to my son having 2 hockey games and basketball practice this past weekend.

Ray needs to understand, to get butts in the door, he needs more of a draw, and I am not talking about the cast of The Christmas Story. I don't know how many of you did the show back in the spring when Philip Rivers was signing, but geeeeeeeeeez, that was a show. Oh well, maybe someone in January.

I have done several of the shows in raleigh, and one in fayetteville, and this last one was really slow. alot of the same vendors set up. i do agree that ray has to do more to stimulate some customers. 75 for a three day show is alot considering friday is generally a wash...vendor to vendor trading. it could just be that people are tight right now with money for blowing on sports stuff. i was just hoping that christmas shoppers would be buying.

I hate that I didn't even attempt the show (would have been dead tired due to the son's events), but 75 for 2 days - Friday's are a wash - with nothing pulling people in. Not just the vendors, but I am sure you saw the same customers. If I finish these NC State customs, I am going to try the Jan show. I had a lot of luck with the Rivers custom when he was signing. I love the atmosphere of the shows, most of the vendors are really cool, but it just doesn't pay to sit out there for 2 days, pay 50 bucks or more, and not have much traffic coming in. I did the Fayetteville show last Dec and made my table before they opened the doors. Sold my Star Wars collection to a vendor, was time to get rid of that stuff.

I saw a White Delhomme at gamestop in Fuquay yesterday the packaging was a litte beat up so its an opener. They had 1 reg of each nfl 10 there. They also had a bin full of NFL 9 & mlb legends 1 for $5.00. The packaging was all beat up but they would be great for customizers.

For all those in the Wake Forest area. The Target in Wake Forest has all the Series 10 NFL excpet for Delhomme. They had them all at 3:30 pm even the Vinateri. The Wal-Mart in Wake Forest has the Moss and Williams from NFL 10 also.

found a raiders sapp and a vinny at walmart in town where i teach, dunn, nc. someone must have been quicker to the other chase in the case. went to crabtree tonight to hear my niece and her school group sing christmas songs, and checked all the places. champs had about 15 delhomme chases and 15 regs, but wanted 22 and 14 for each of them. i have read about champs having sp's, but had not seen it until tonight. if anyone wants one for 22 which is what you will pay on ebay right now with shipping, go get them. i have a couple, so i didn't bite. hey fenway, saw the nhl legends chase at gamestop in fuquay, but left it. i dont even know who that guy is...grew up in nc, so not alot of hockey history knowledge on my part. thanks for the heads up. would have gotten some nba 7 regs if they were not 12.99 each.

joerad, i dont know if ebay is an avenue for you, but i saw a set a few weeks ago sell for under 11 bucks a piece with shipping. i think you can pick up those figs at good prices. the garnett appears to be the only one that may cost you more than 10 or 11 bucks. the duncan may be the same or a little less. the others you can find cheap.

Okay boogie, I am in the Triad!!! By the way for all of the hockey fans in NC, Toys R Us at Silas Creek Crossing in Winston-Salem, NC, they had three of the Heritage Classic two packs with Jose Theodore and Jason Smith. I bought one and left the other two. One is in mint condition and the other has some damage on the right side. Also Game Stop in Hanes Mall has a 50% off sale on selected figures including some from the latest NHL release. There was a Sergei Federov and a Joe Sakic (2) for half price. I left them although I did complete my MLB Cooperstown set on the 50% off table.

so let me get this right...vick does not play against the saints because of a shoulder problem...a game in which a falcons victory could help the panthers...but yet he is going to play at seattle...a game in which a falcons loss could help the panthers...after watching that horrible monday night game last night, i hope these teams that have nothing to play for who are playing their second teamers are flat in the playoffs. on one hand i get not wanting your top players to get hurt in a game that won't affect your seeding, but i cannot stand watching second-teamers in weeks 16 and 17. bottom line is that the panthers have to beat the saints, and that if our playoff spot was already determined, i definitely would not want to see another panthers injury...the three point loss at denver, and especially that loss at home to oakland is kicking our a@@@@ right about now...i know that vick not playing/playing is not a conspiracy against the panthers, but i hope the seahawks destroy the falcons.

Went to Cary TRU this morning and found a Retro Patriots Bledsoe hanging there ! Cool...
They also had 1 of the Heritage Classic 2-Packs, several LeBron 12" (29.99) and a couple Yao 12" (29.99), along with tons of other 12", including Ryan, but mostly Football, which are 19.99. They also had a LeBron james reg version 1 from the earlier series (white) along with many new NBA figs. There were also many Strahan-McNabb 2-packs there.

I've only seen 1 3" Delhomme at the Wake Forest Target and bought it and haven't seen another one since. The 3" NBA I've got James, Nowitzki, Duncan, Kidd, Pierce and one other I can't remember. Davis leaving wouldn't be much of a hole. Foster could turn out to be great if he can stay healthy and Goings has proved he has what it takes. If he stays they will have to figure out what to do with Goings and Foster. I'd hate to see Proel retire but if he does it may free up some $ to help sign Mus to a deal. I think if Mus isn't money hungry he will stay, cause with a healthy team next year i think they are Super Bowl bound.

I love Panthers talk. Have to say, that the game sunday was without a doubt, Jake's worst performance as a Panther. However, I am pumped about the year. Went to the show this Saturday and purchased a few figures. Not sure who I purchased them from but I think I may have gotten my Pats. Bledsoe, and A's Jackson from Zuba. Bought an Astro's Ryan from someone else also, (bizquit?). He also had some opened on the table, Astros Ryan and a couple of Edge. James and alot of Panthers cards for sale. I had on a Mattingly jersey that day.

I'll have to look through my cards for the guys who asked. I know I have a Manny jersey card #'d to either 100 or 200 you maybe interested in fenway. I just have to look through the thousands of cards to find it. Also have a 98 Bowman Chrome Golden Anniversary David Ortiz #'d to 50. Obviously he was with the Twins then. I've got a few good Peppers cards but I want to keep them. This weekend at the show I did purchase a 2002 Peppers Leaf Rookies & Stars autographed RC. Got it for $45. Anyone know the book value? I don't have a recent football Beckett. Been looking a while for a Peppers auto and I thought this was a fairly decent price.

burning soul, that was me with the ryan astros. you should have identified yourself, man. that is a good price on that peppers. i have been trying to score an auto of him also. three months ago, that card sold for 22 on ebay. two weeks ago, it sold for over 50. you cannot find autos of him. that is a good price. it books for 60 or 80, i cannot remember. glad you came out to the show.

In case anybody cares about NHL, TRU in Pineville has 7 Heritage Classic 2-packs. I have seen remnants of a couple cases of NHL9 ( read that 3 Sakic2 and an Alfie ) there also. Any other CLT area members know if the KayBee in Carolina Place is closing...inventory seemed quite light there today. If anybody is looking for NHL7 Reg. MacInnis for $12.00 they have 3 :D

I've been looking for ANY Peppers auto cards. I can't get one. After that late season surge and the Sunday night game against Atlanta all his stuff went up. The last card I was watching on eBay went for over $80. Way too much for me to spend. My wife would kill me. :D

Not sure if the KB is closing, but they have removed a ton of stock in the last few weeks.

i hit up the show, not sure who i bought from but i got the holt retro ive been looking for. I bought it from someone that i see at every show. i dont know his name but he said he was going to be selling his entire collection soon. also got a chipper jones and manny sp rookies for $1 each. and a lebron ud rookie

where was everyone located at. i know one person was on the end of an isle that had alot of sp's, i think he was with his wife.

Quick Goldsboro Update:

Wally World has had nothing new in about 3 weeks!! This is my sportspick central around here! What do I do??? lol actually, I have another place, but a bit pricey. Normally he ask's $15 for regulars, and 20-25 for variants, depending on who it is.

Kaybee in the Goldsberry mall is going out of business. Actually someone beat me to all the SP's... Didn't get anything, but the guy down the hall at EB games, collects, so I have the feeling he raided them.

I did find 2 Warren Sapp NFL 10 today. Anyone needs one, let me know. I still have one sitting on my dresser, that's been there for over a month! Nothing else new in good ol' Goldsboro this week... stay tuned for next weeks show....
