its difficult to comapre...especially if u direct conver thte currency. I geuss it's considered alright in the UK.
So I usually try not to get retail stuff over here cos they cost too much. I try and get my friends in Malaysia to help me get em. But still no one can help me get individual dragons :(

Not out on the shelves yet, but they were coming off the truck as I went past. I'll drop in tomorrow and take a look. Probably won't pick any up at the usually grossly inflated CS prices, but I guess we should be seeing them in Forbidden Planet in the next week or two.

FP look to be clearing space for the ROTS stock. If anyone is interested, they have Galactica Vipers in again, back down at the marginally more sensible £9.99.

Well, Dragons are showing up everywhere now. I have to say I'm very impressed with them. They look way better than I expected. I may end up getting them all (except the box set - I hate the sculpted flame). The detail is absolutely gorgeous.

Local comic store (They Walk Among Us, Richmond): £11.99 each. Box set - £22.99

Cinema Store seem to have made a judgement call on the relative values (as they often do) - the larger ones (Sorcerer and Eternal) are £14.99. The others are £11.99. Didn't see the box set.

Forbidden Planet - stacked up waiting to go out. No prices yet. I'll drop in after work and check again.

Cinema Store also have Sin City - £14.99 for B&W, £16.99 for colour. Probably only going to grab the girls in B&W to go with my Death Row Marv.

FP also has S27. Again, no prices as yet.

i was going to go tonight, the TRU near me is opening tonight (i didn't realise until today).....but i just don't care for star wars toys these days, so i'm not gonna bother. it all brings back painful memories from when i was a kid, and my mum gave my star wars figures away to a charity shop. :(

My experience at UK midnight madness....

I was a bit dissapointed and pissed....but was pretty satisfied too...
I went there around 10.30....The queue was still short, around 15-20 before me. I heard the first one was there at 6! :eek: So I took some pictures of the X-Wing which they claimed is life size, (but is obviously NOT) before I took my place in the queue. (the queue was around the corner at the far end of the building by opening and it was said that hundreds were there)

15-30 minutes before the opening some Stormtroopers and Darth Vader came out to take some pictures with the crowd. They were pretty entertaining. Boba Fett was ...ummm....slightly short.

And Dave Prowse the actor for Darth Vader from the original trilogy was there to officially launch the TRU midnight madness by cutting the ribbon with a light sabre. Red one...but plastic!?! Cant they at least give him a Master Replica one :mad:

So the stampede begins. It was pretty civilised, got pretty pissed a few guys who didnt queue jus walked right in looking smug and all. :mad: :spawnskul They were pretty organised only letting a set amount of people to the pegs each time. The pegs area for the toy was pretty small though. I was quite excited to see Unleashed there as I thought they were not going to release it tonight. The crowd was really in a buying frenzy, trolleys were filled, baskets were packed to the brim! these people really do buy! The staff at the Lego side of the pegs were pleading me to get some from his side LOL.
Saw the Holo Yoda on the pegs for 9.99 pounds. So I grabbed 2 figs and paid for em thinking that I was going to collect the freebies at the costumer service. Ask the cashier. she said yea ask the customer service. and they gave me my poster and t shirt. I was too excited and didnt realize that they didnt give me a yoda. When i went back to ask it was already sold out! grrrrrr :mad: Was pretty dissapointed. And they didnt wanna give me the Hasbro poster that shows all the figs...and I saw them giving it to another customer. Her excuse was that they are only for people who are not getting freebies? :confused: and the other women clearly did get free stuff. :mad:
Anyways enough about that. on to the happy stuff! :D

All the unelashed was going for 12.99!!! I was expecting it at around 16.99. I coulda got this cheaper in Malaysia but....what the heck...it was well worth the occasion and all. It was so hyped my friend nearly got a master replica darth vader light saber for 80 pounds! :p

Was down to the marketplace thingy yesterday. very dissapointed. Mostly comics. Saw the green lantern series for 9.50 each and marvel select doc ock for 12.50.
more new stuff at FP. the new justice league is in....around 15-16 quid. They are onli 10 quid at comic showcase, too bad they ran out of supes... and the Full Metal Alchemist figs are in too...too small for my taste. plastic looks slightly cheap. ROTS stuff out too. lotsa pregnant amidala. Unleashed grevious all gone.

yeah, i was down at the marketplace also and it definately wasn't great, i had already got most of the gl that i wanted but i did pick up batman hush riddler for £5.

also went down to FP and pretty much saw what you saw, i still haven't seen full metal alchemist but they seemed ok, mayb a little expensive. the ROTS stuff looks pretty cool, £16.99 for unleashed isn't too bad but i didn't feel like shelling out that for anakin and obi wan just yet. i did go to comic showcase to mess around with their "try me" fx lightsaber replica, hehe

Yeah, can't see finding them much cheaper than this. I picked up the Grievous Wheel Bike. Tempted by the starfighter, but passed for now. I'll wait and see how disappointing the film is before picking up any more merchandise!

I picked up B&W Nancy to go with my Death Row Marv. Paintjobs are very mixed, so you need to look through them before picking one. Prices range from £8.99 for Gail up to £11.99 for Marv. Colour and B&W are the same price.

Hitchhiker's Guide are also in. Just can't get excited about these.

Also got 12" Patsy (Monty Python/Holy Grail) for £7.50!!!

i hate how asian countries get figures so cheap, i'm from hong kong (well technically a British Born Chinese - BBC) and when i went to hong kong, the TRUs had Marvel Legends series IV at the time and i got them for about £5 each. here, double that. makes me so mad

i missed out of comic showcases cheap yet limited cases of Alex Ross Justice figures. last resort was Gosh! comics for £13.99, better then £15.99, i guess...

i got T Hawk on friday, great, huge figure, he towers over all the sf figures (shameful, sagat)

just got this today which one of my father's friend helped me import from japan. yep, its the SONY PSP (value pack). i ordered it off him about a month ago and i've been waiting patiently since, and its so beautiful. the only downside is he forgot to order the game that i wanted so i'm gameless at the moment. i did order a sony memory stick duo so i've been playing around with movies and images, converting them to the correct format and then seeing if they work. so far tried mp4 and jpg files and they work well

with the value pack, i got remote control and headphones for mp3 usage and movies i guess, 32Mb memory stick (i bought an extra 512Mb which i'm using), carry case and not much else. i didn't get a demo UMD or anything. and what annoys me even more is i ordered a game off some canadian site back on 28th March and it still hasn't arrived (shipped 16th April), ah well

also in the post yesterday, Tenjou Tenge Figure Series 2 gashapon, pictures say it all

also check FP today, the UK shipment of ML9 has officially been restocked once again, though they rigged the prices again. i got prof xavier for £10.99 and his wheelchair is indeed the movie version (the stamp on the bottom of it confirms it). still his kinda cool next to all the x-men ml i have.

cost me £100 for the value pack which is alot cheaper then it will be over here (the machine itself will cost £180 without the extras)

so far avex mode/kaiyodo have released 2 sets. figure series 1 were the pre posed ones, i got series 2 while series 3 will be micro bust style gashapon and aren't out yet. i got it for £15 including shipping from hong kong which is slightly expensive but you can hardly get gashapon over here anyway.

my room is what they call a "studio" here. it sounds glamourous but in fact just means that u cramp everything into one tiny room....kitchen, sink, beds chairs, eetc and a small seperate divided toilet. (sometimes shared with other studio rooms). :eek:

just checked out your hauls, atriot. awesome trigun figures, i too need to get Beyond the Grave. i watched Gungrave 1-26 last year as well as the completed the first game and i can't believe how i haven't tracked it down yet.

anyway need you guys opinions on the sin city figures. i'm planning on getting a couple but i'm hung up on which versions to get, the colour or the b/w versions. at the moment i'm swaying more towards the colour because a) they are in colour and b) the "bloodied" figure with severed head is in colour only (i think). maybe i should get the b/w versions and have the bloodied version stand out if forbidden planet happen to get them in?? i dunno

Oh man. I really hope that the Gungrave is reissued. I've wanted that figure for so long but I'm just not gonna pay stupid prices on ebay. I've seen it sell for about £80!!

i saw nancy once. when they weere jus on the shelves...i think they were gone within a day. I am trying not to cave in to the hype as personally my honest opinion is that the facial accuracy is off (which hppens often in neca case)

Also I recently picked up Sin City (Colour) Marv, SF T Hawk (original).

Hopefully tomorrow (Saturday) I'll be heading to my nearest comic store and seeing what they have...I just hope they have re-stocked because last ime I went they had nothing apart form all the pegwarmers and a some damaged stock. :( But I found that colour Marv which was hidden In a corner . :)

Just ordered Pallentides and Xaulton the undead form FP aswell. I'm not really into Conan but those two I just had to get. The detail is amazing and they just look cool as hell!

anyway, went to fp yesterday after my exam and saw the High Dream Capcom VS SNK 2 figures. to my suprise they had all of the 4 that have been released so far (ryu, ken, kyo kusanagi and iori yagami). i picked up KYO and for £8.99, i really like it. its 7 inch scale so an inch bigger then SOTA SF but some of the articulation points are stunning. this shoulders are actually ball pointed but are hidden really well under a rubber coat. at first glace, they look like cut joints so thats what amazed me

today, i finally found ROTS clone commander at woolworths. lucky because i thought 'd never find it at retail. i haver said that i'd never buy a 3 3/4 inch figure again but any of the clone troopers from AOTC, Clone Wars and ROTS are just too cool not to get

:mad: Dam that's annoying, the FP in Middlesbrough had High-Dreams Ryu and Ken priced at £12.99 each....still had to buy them though :D They didn't have Kyo and Iori when i was there, but that was last month some time.

I'm in the middle of a figure drought. The only figures i've been buying are the SOTA SF ones and the occasional Spawn figure. Maybe it's a good thing, i'm seriously running out of room as it is. I dedicated the top half of one of my bedroom walls to the SOTA SF figures, but that's full already and it's only into series 2 :eek: 20 figures for 2 series of figures, insane.

went to see star wars epi III yesterday, twas okay. i ruined it for myself by reading the comic adaptation so i wanted to skip alot of the scenes just to get to see how well choreographed(sp?) the lightsaber fights were. i wasn't disappointed, nick gillard does some good work (apart from darth sidious' lightsaber plunges, what was that about??) anyway r2-d2 and yoda stole the show, some funny moments from them both and i wish they'd reanimate episodes iv-vi with the cgi yoda.

i went to claim my free poster from odeon leicester sq today and the one guy gave me a poster but forgot to sign my collection form so i went to box office to get them to sign it for me and the guy behind the counter decided to check out if they had any others for me. turns out they only had the anakin vs kenobi posters and he let me keep it so now i have two, so anythings cool when its free

there you atriot, yeah they were sets of two up to about volume 5 before they converted to singles as they were cheaper in theory. they're japan imports hence the price. i've never paid more then £20 for a set and even found a set for less then £5 in hong kong tru because the box was worn down but figures were intact. having said that, that exact figure took a dive and decapitated itself, so now re3 jill valentine has a permantely supergluedneck. i threw in the re nemesis mini bust pic for good measure, it came out pretty well :)

thanx guys, don't worry about the last picture, it was an error in my post, there should be 4 images in total. i did have an image of most of the series from an old japanese toy show which had them in a base with metal grated flooring, like a stage from metal gear solid where the human characters were aiming at the creatures, it looked pretty cool but i can't remember where i put it, i'll try and dig it out

the airsoft gun is pretty cool but it seems to good to be true, it was going for 10 times that amount when it first came out and i don't know the legal restrictions about shipping a gun from US to UK. i'd rather get an fx lightsaber, that won't get me in trouble

anyway, i've been cleaning up during bank holiday weekend and i've accumulated so much crap that i just won't use so this summer its back to eBay and maybe a boot sale towards the end of august. not much figure wise but i'm gonna sell a few dragonball z figures such as the some unifive trading figures series 4 doubles that i have as well as an if labs ss3 goku 9 inch figure MIB. i'm gonna put a mcfarlane soul calibur II necrid towards the boot sale if noone wants him. i've only removed him from the box once for a review i did for michael crawford but all twisties are there and its been sitting in a cupboard all this time.

well interestingly enough with the addition to captain britain to the ultimates, his involvement in the an upcoming uncanny x-men and also a uk exclusive version of spider-man with him in it actually being reprinted for US audience, he seems to be gaining some interest. ml series xi is fairly obscure characters so maybe just maybe, they'll release one in the next coming series

the koto vinyl definately look nice but limited space and money make them a big no. are there any episode III ones yet??

i'm 100% with you on the resident evil 4 figures, i was beginning to doubt us seeing re figures after being told capcom were refusing to sell their license for figures

as for ultimate carnage, imo he looks a little thin and the symbiote makes him look like hes on fire. and the dead gwen stacy looks creepy as hell.
