no interest at all in the military figs from me i'm afraid....just not my bag. but then...not much is nowadays.....now playing, family guy, occasional ML's, occasional movie figs.....

anyway....any of you guys know how i would go about buying cases over here? i've seen a few on ebay, but i was wondering if there were any other retailers or wholesalers that you know of. i'm thinking of a career change. :D

I've never really been into MGS but that is a pretty good deal (so far £41)!

Actually There beginning to grow on me just becasue of all the weapons and the characters look cool.

i have that exact same set except that i have stealth (translucent) ninja as opposed to the full colour one. it'd be interesting to see how much it goes for. i think i still have all the accessories and the metal gear ray, i'll post a pick of my display when i have time. they are great figures and solid snake was the first figure i bought

tell me about being skint, i went on an eBay rampage for the past week or so and i'm not slowing down just yet. pics of haul when i get them, hehe

if i ever said this anywhere else, i might get my ***** flamed but i do hope that we won't see anymore 6" MGS figures anytime soon, i don't have the room and it'd be hell to fit it in seeing as street fighter and resident evil are all on the same shelf, and those two franchises are gonna be increasing

i only go bargain hunting when i'm guilt free and thats usually during the summer when i'm bored. so far i'm mainly getting old comics that i wish i'd gotten sooner. i've been trying to get the death of colossus (uncanny x-men #390) for the past two years, even before he got resurrected. i have #389 and #391 but not #390. funny thing is, i let one go a few months back for £3.50 and now i'm being outbid at £7.00. mayb next time...but i am trying to get a few bargain figures, here and there and i think i got a good one yesterday

whos dissing the ipod?? hehehe, i got one from hong kong 1yr1/2 ago (15Gb white), i don't really have much use for it except when i'm on the train. i got rid of the white earphones for some nicer black sony ones (doesn't have anywhere near as much sound leakage as apple's ones) which also goes well with my psp. i also haven't man handled my psp in a while, only when i u/l bleach on to it...

i think the pink one'll suit u KITCH, atriot's just jealous theres no strawberry coloured one

yes, apparently japanese guys by the name of junpei manaka likes girls who wear strawberry panties and atriot idolises them, hahaha (u actually got me interested, watched the first 6 episodes of ichigo 100%, hehe)

yeah, i'm kinda proud of my MGS collection, i had to do a lot of ebaying to fill in the gaps, especially for the MGS1 set since i bought the MGS2 set at retail. theres rumours that konami are rejecting any american company proposal for the MGS license so i don't think we'll see any solid snake figures by SOTA or any company for that matter. however, capcom were rumoured to not wanting ANY resident evil 4 figures done and now we have a full set by NECA so anything is possible

alright, i decided to search "toxie now playing" on eBay yesterday and with hours to spare, bidded on one which ended at £2.40 + £3.00p&p = £5.40 which is pretty sweet

well technically, yes as i think the girls are 15 yrs old (i think nishino turned 16 as she had a bday during the episodes i've seen). its weird how the japanese idolise such young anime girls...putting them in bikini tops and then zooming in on t&a (and whats up with the movie club sensei?!?!)

we could bug SOTA but the fanboys over on the action-figure.com SOTA forum are doing that already. btw, never go there for more then 5 minutes, just a warning, u'll see...

(dunno if people can read the japanese characters..if not, change your fonts slightly)

nice haul KITCH, so you decided to go for the turquoise chun li chase? agreed with raven spawn, i should really have gotten that figure. and atriot, glad someone's buying those yamato batman figures, they look pretty nice and you can now get them in trading figure miniture style which would be perfect for me as i lack real space now

i'm with you graham, i've never watched a friday the 13th or nightmare on elm's st but i have a sudden urge to get the cult classics jason and series II freddie. still no cheap bateman on eBay yet but thats not surprising

Well I did'nt exactly go for the chase variant. I saw it on epicheroes.com and the pic was the normal version so I ordered, and this is version that arrived. I had a feeling in the back of my mind that it would be a chase because all the originals sold out really fast. Well I'm not that bothered anyway...

Yeah Raven Spawn is awesome! Looks hella cool! I don't know why I did'nt buy it earlier? For some reaosn I did'nt like the pose he was In but looking at it up close, it really makes the figure look great. :D

Graham has Jasonmania. My favourite one is the cult classic one. he looks quite imposing and has a nice base. So thats nice.

the turqoise and blue chun li doesnt really seem that much different in colour. Looked the same in the first glance. these SOTA figs are great out of their package posed together in a bunch. I still dislike their packaging and think they couldve done much better :o

Raven spawn goesreally nicely with the other 2 hellspawns ashley wood style stuff.was there 3 of em that has the same look. the S24 Hellspawn, S25Ravenspawn and hellspawn..

reg the yamato batman. what i really like is the way they do the 2d and 3d thing. The diorama background in 2D and the figure in 3D. just looks great to me. Now I jus need to find the first wave batman...which is almost impposible :(

so i got Buffy Deluxe "Graduation Day" Buffy and Faith from DST and a coupla x-men comics (Uncanny X-Men "Poptopia" Part 1-4 and X-Men:Search for Cyclops Part 1-4 for those who are interested).

the deluxe multi-articulated buffy range looks good, diamond look to be doing a great job, although i've heard some stories about the quality of the joints and they're not looking good, time will tell when i open them, i'll get some shots of them later

i've discovered one of the comics has a large tea/coffee stain on the front cover and theres not much i can do about it...grrrr, glad it was cheaper then expected but i have to now find a quick and cheap replacement and i don't see them in comic shops much

yeah, the street fighter packagings abit of a let down but most of SOTA's packaging isn't all that great. they have changed their now playing series II packaging to be more like a traditional clamshell. their reasoning is that they'd rather people open their figures and admire the sculpting, which i'm all for

as for yamato batman, the third batman has quite a 3d base but its a pretty well sculpted base. godd luck with the first batman, those kind of flew off the shelves when they first came out in comic showcase and then fp london when there was no choice but to pay their large inflated prices

uncanny x-men "poptopia" arc is the first arc since the relaunch back in 2001 when spandex was thrown out and replaced with leather biker jackets. this was released the same time grant morrison started "new x-men". its written by joe casey (the initimates) with art by ian churchill (supergirl), mel rubi and ashley wood (bloody hell, 3 artists in a single 4 issue arc...). i haven't read it yet so i'm unsure what to expect

got another partof my "haul", i ordered these during the last week of june from malaysia. the quality of the final product really do match the promo pics. in terms of size, they are bigger then the star wars bust-ups and if they made these as full bodied figures/statues, they'd be in the 7-8 inch scale.

my evil ryu is the one from the 2-pack, so i just get stuck with that stupid grin....it's also got really stiff joints so i just managed to get him standing in a ****y kinda pose.....the only one i've ever managed to do a decent action pose is chun li....got her to do a spinning bird kick once.....

yeah i got "all stars batman and robin" today (specfically went to town to get it). i quite liked it, seems very dark and "batman begins" like. i've only read dark knight returns of frank millar's but i know the movie was loosely based on his "year one" and had that sort of feel. plus theres vicky vale in underwear drawn by jim lee, i think he musta dedicated those pages to u, atriot (so no ichigo panties, though i think pink should take your fancy)

i've only managed to get an accurate rendition of ryu charging up the fireball (denjin hadouken style), theres not enough articulation in the shoulders to get the arms out straight and bottom of the hands together. i've only got ryu in standard fighting pose ala SFIII and evil ryu showing his back with hand over face (trying to look cool). if you want me to post the hadouken charge, gimme a shout

true, the fanboys have a contributing factor but not those that complain how akuma's gi isn't supposed to be blue (ummm, yes it is) just because they've "seen" pictures of him in black. alot of it is just nitpicking and already posting things like "ATTN: JERRY SOTAToys..." even though its pretty obvious that hes at SDCC (sorry some fanboys just drive me crazy)

yep the street fighter figure joints are quite sticky, it took me a while to pry ryu's ankle joints and sagats mid torso. by the way, heres ryu doing "denjin hadouken" as accurate as i could do it

My Evil Ryus left leg was really stiff, couldnt move it at all. To solve it though you have to put the figure into your freezer for about 10 - 15 minutes. Take it out and the joint bends perfectly :)

i've just had a quick flick through all stars again and i still think its looks good and that it could have been a book out of the hush storyline if judging by looks. there is alot of art to take in at first, i think it did a good job considering the amount of detail that was required in the backgrounds (noticeably gotham city, the circus and its crowd etc etc). the colourist is alex sinclair who also did batman hush so that shouldn't have been the problem. maybe it was the last page that turned you off? i was expecting to see "hush" batman and was surprised to see jim lee doing a "frank miller" style batman, nice tribute though

anyone seen dc direct's new stuff?? michael turner based batman, black canary, flash, elongated man and captain boomerang II for ID Crisis (batman is nicely posed but theres something about the face, possibly the large lips but no clear pictures dead-on, flash looks gd), ed mcguiness based justice league for JLA classified and more stuff on show. i'm now having second thoughts about getting any ed mcguiness figures, i like his animated style but do i really need another justice league if i get the ID Crisis and Alex Ross Justice figure?!?!

Some of the human features in it doesnt look as accurate as it could''vebeen and the colours are not as coherant or strong. maybe thats just me. I will most definately try and pick it up for keeps and hope it picks up in the next few issues.
Seen the X MEn ones but still Hush is the best overall colours, pencils and story. And I like it that they brought up whole lottsa bat family and rogue gallery and supes. :D

is that the turner cover for IC series? Are they all based on IC covers? I still did not see a clearer pic for em.

speaking bout justice league ... does anyone know where I can pick up the "evil"supermanfrom the Justice series? I think its not out yet...but i want that!

yeah, hush was a great way to get new fans into batman with jeph loeb and jim lee amoung a large majority of the bat-cast. it got me into DC. i'd rather own a piece of batman hush artwork then x-men 1990, unless its a good shot of cyclops, then i'd be forever trying to make a decision

the ID Crisis figures aren't based on the covers, michael turner created new control/concept art for the figures and the figures are based on that (similar to the way the hush line is based on jim lee's specific designs for the figures)

"Evil" Alex Ross Superman is a retailer incentive figure (much like there are retailer incentive comic variants). from what i heard, a retailer had to order 75 copies of "Justice #1" before they could order ONE angry Superman. if you want one, you might have to pay big bucks, it could be rarer then the jason todd figure...

the girl in the black outfit is black canary, part of the bat-family (sort of). in the comics, shes not in that outfit or has that hair. she only featured that way on #3 cover of ID Crisis and i guess michael turner kept that design. i don't like the eyes, a bit too "danger girl" sharp. i'm hoping because ID Crisis II figures won't be out until next year march, they'll tweak up batman's face because everything else says turner.

the more i think about it, the more i am gonna pass on mcguiness' justice league. the comics are enough, i guess.

and just won a patrick bateman for £10.94 inc shipping, ok now, no more, yik, no more...

i have seen bateman at £10.00 at the london con i went to a month ago, but thats the cheapest i've seen. its surpising that FP don't have many of them, maybe people are still wanting to get a christian bale figure after the awesomeness that was batman begins, pics when i get it (and bloody toxie wherever the hell it is)

i can see what you mean, atriot. black canary has "evil eyelashes" that i don't think i've ever seen michael turner actually draw, flash looks a lot older then he is (if that is indeed wally west), elongated man looks too young (he was a happily married man until atom's ex-wife burnt her alive) and batman...the eyes are turner, the puffy lips aren't

the good thing is these come out in march and can be tooled slightly if dc direct wanna actually sell these. i will get these instead of ed mcguiness' jla though, anyhow

i think those shots turned out well, clearest pics i've taken in a while.

as for the figure, he doesn't have the bale likeness unfortunately, the lack of articulation points makes it hard to stand (and where are the cut joints in the biceps?? every figure needs those!), his left hand can barely hold anything don't care what people say and his initial right hand has black point all over it (is it meant to be dried up blood?? nope).

other then the slight nitpicks, hes standard for a guy in a suit. and i tried posing him as bruce wayne in the last two shots, hehe

not content on my haul this morning, i went out and got a Justice League Unlimited 3-Pack of The Flash, Dr Fate and Green Arrow and i'm leaving it blistered (no actual designated space for it, it doesn't match with anything I have at the moment). decided that if i wasn't going to get any ed mcguinness dc direct, this would satisfy my dc animated style universe and three 4.5" figures aren't bad for £9.99

Yeah I'll get it out and try to take some better pics later mate. Its actually quite big, around 81/2" maybe? Really detailed and guess what....

I got number 50 of 3000! which is pretty lucky to say I'm from the UK!

Sounds like you got a good deal as well!
