Default How pissed should I be ??

Went to the store to buy Haunt 2 today. Got it. then noticed at the back of the pile was Haunt 1 with the Gold lettering and firm cover. Went to pay and the woman said it would be more than the normal price of Haunt books, maybe like 9.99. I said it was ok. Then some other guy came over and said it was 18.99...... I thought for a moment, then said ok. Then as im paying, the other guy shouted "Wait! That is reserved for someone, sorry we cant sell this to you". I told him I found it in the "new comics" section and think it only fair if I get it. He told me he'll get in a ton of trouble so I, being the nice guy I am, gave it up.

Now, how pissed should I be?

I am unaware of the solicitaion facts on this book and wonder if it would be worth more in the coming years......

Any help would be appreciated....

Well it really could have been reserved for somebody so either way, somebody is getting pissed. Nobody wins, good thing it was you because it was my reserved copy.

It was solicited as a limited edition collectors variant - limited to 3,000 copies and retail cost of $10

One of my local stores sells the variants for ridiculously inflated prices, over 50 bucks in some cases... and I'm itching to see how much of a gouge they're gonna take with this.

I would be frustrated or maybe disappointed you never got the one you wanted, but you did the right thing by giving it up for someone who had it reserved... the store's mistake shouldn't be your burden, obviously, but I know that for me, if I was the one who had it reserved... and someone gave it up so my trust in the store wasn't shaken, I'd certainly be thankful.

Either way, I'm sure you'll get it eventually.

Yeah, if you really want it just tell them to order a copy for you. I doubt they sold out. They should be $10.

Was the 1:50 the McFarlane sketch and the 1:10 the Ottley?

I would have told them, "No, I'm buying it. It was on the shelf. Here's the cash." If they *****ed, I would have slapped the cover price on the counter, torn it in half and then told them that their pull list dude could thank me for buying his book for him. **** that kind of bull****. Bet you anything, you go back in there in a week and it's sitting on the rack behind the counter at $29.99. Yeah, I would have been seriously pissed.

Well, if it was on the shelf then it didn't seem to be too reserved. Dude could have been feeding you a line of crap...but no use losing sleep over it.

This...I too would have demanded to have the book since it's not your fault they missed it on the shelf. If they insist, you simply return ALL of your books and say I'm never coming in here again.

And your business is probably worth more than $10.

Morons.
