Ughh. This is balls, man. Todd has really screwed this up and is testing a lot of people here - if this is true.

EDIT: I get my hopes up, even with Liefeld of all people being on the book, and this happens yet again. Todd is the creator of Spawn, yet he's become the utter downfall as well. He's gotta get off this book and just focus on Haunt - and let people who do this primarily for a living work their magic. I respect Todd above most people in the comic book industry, but I also hate him like I would my boss.

If spawn is late, and comes out in December, what is that? Like 2 comics in 5 months? Holey Moley!

has it been that long... come on, give them a chance ... it can't be easy to run a company with so harsh and unforgiving fans; people.

They should just make Spawn a bi-monthly (errrr every 2 months). I think we're lucky it hasn't been canceled the way the economy is.

The fans. Thats why they pay no attention to "the fans".

That sir, is a pretty *cough* dumb statement. Sorry. Their inability to keep a comic book on a monthly schedule has zero to do with it's fan base. Are you saying if the fans showered them with praise and adourned the path they walk with rose petals the book would stay on schedule?

It seems to me that if they truly cared about the fan base....what few fans they have left, anyway...they would go out of their way to keep them & get the book out on time.

The bottom line is, the dream team of artists, writers and colorists fell apart in less than a year, that Endgame has failed to drum up new interest in the title, that they are scrambling to find the time and personnel to get the book out on time, and Spawn has been reduced to 2nd class status behind Haunt, Walking Dead and perhaps other, better selling Image titles.

Eh, Nov 25th is a big week anyway. I don't mind not getting Spawn that day because of all the awesome books coming out.

well, all I am saying is, either stick around and support or pack up and refrain from buying the books they put out.. Yelling about it hasn't worked in the past - why should 'they' turn and listen now?

I agree that it is not acceptable with the long wait. I usually go and pick up a bundle of issues, because I have to travel to get my Spawn. Maybe that is why the wait doesn't hurt me as much.

Refering to my own, 'dumb' statement above; I am trying to say is - that the comics aren't quite on Mr. McFarlane's top 10 to-do list. Maybe there are other areas of his buisness, that needs saving before he can rescue his comicbook, to keep the economy of it all, afloat ..

What good will it do, getting a book out on time, if for example the major money-maker (toy-line) gets less of a priority. Seemingly, it prooves to much to do both at the same time.

But can we fans really do anything about it, in a practical forwarding manner that would help the book come out on time?

Screaming about it, sure as hell doesn't help a bit; as long as the comicbook buying people, are fewer than the toy collectors...

That being said, I too wish it would improve.

Managing both the Comic and the Toy company has not seemed to ever be an issue. The main issue here is keeping an artist on board. Leifield doesn't run the toy business so there should be no excuse why it takes him 2 months to do a spawn comic, other than he is also working on image united. Nevertheless, with all the corners that have been cut.

1. no narrative
2. less backgrounds
3. computer inking

this book should have no reason not to be out on time. The fact that it is late continues to bury it further and further on top of the sucking story and the choice of artists. Endgame really does mean the end, apparently. It is somewhat comical that the solicits for upcoming months are like 4 issues behind.

being positive is really all we fans can do, other than not buying the book. And that is the opposite

If they fail to put out toys that sell well, there will be no money left to put out a comic, that people in general thinks sucks and that is not generating enough revenue to keep it coming out, on it's own merit ..

Liefeld maybe is the only guy left, wanting to work for Todd?

From what I gather, Todd, according to rumor and his own documentary, can be a tough guy to work for.

What do we really know..

I think Mcfarlane has stated a lot of times that he doesn't care about what the fans think of his book. You know how ego centric Todd is. So I guess if this book stops producing a profit and he has to cancel it, I think that will not bother him at all.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there, Prime. Todd has stated in may interviews how he DOES care what the fans think. Remember no tooo long ago when he mentioned how if the fans did not take kindly to the Jim, he could easily just bring Al back.

Now, whether or not he actually means it, is a whole other reach in the bag.

It's hard to be positive about Spawn as of late, as we haven't had a lot of stuff to be overly positive about. We've had mediocre art, very late issues, revolving artists, lame storylines, and little to no feedback about our concerns from anybody on the "inside."

So if 196 is delayed, (big surprise), what's going to happen if #200 is being advertised for February? Are they seriously going to have 4 issues in 2 months? I also don't really care about it being delayed so much, because on the 25th, there is going to be a lot of books out so no big deal. Also, isn't it going to present a continuity issue? Image United is supposed to take place after "Endgame", with Jim coming into his destiny etc. Any thoughts?
