*** Southern California Collectors Thread ***

I'll give this a shot, since I've already bumped into a few of us on here (plus one from my old hometown!).

Here's a cut-and-paste from one of my other posts:

I'm actually a transplant. I moved from Salinas (up in Central Coast Cali) down to San Dimas back in 1997. Then, last summer I moved down to Walnut. I'm a transplanted Sharks fan.

I'm a newbie collector since I only have a handful of figures:
Shanny/Blake 2-pack
Nolan regular
Nabokov regular and chase
Thornton/Brodeur 3-inch
(all of these are open except for the Nabby chase)

I'm gonna try to stop by Frank&Sons this Saturday and buy the rest of the 3-inchers to put in my cubicle. I'm considering picking up the Selanne at some point and then having that and my Nolan customed with Sharks teal to match my open Nabby. Still thinking about it.

I'll throw out a couple topics: Frank & Sons, Frisco's waitresses. Discuss amongst yourselves.

San Pedro, Ca...born and raised, I'll be at Frank and Son's on Saturday...Good Luck on the Hockey 3" not an easy find, not popular. On Sundays at the Santa Fe Springs swapmeet (La Mirada) a seller has them there for $5 ea. and Goalies for $7. his name is George, row G, I think..Good Luck!

If you can't find what you need at Frank & Sons, let me know. I know there are a lot of 3 inch Hockey at the TRU in Aracadia and some in the Targets around me (Pasadena). I can check them for you.

Good idea with the thread. I had one going a couple years ago (seems like it was that long) and it got a lot of responses. I was amazed at how many So Cal guys there are. I would be at Frank's on Saturday, but I work at noon so I'm not gonna make the trip. I recommend dealing with Donny at Got-Toys. He's got the big booth on the front end near the area where the wrestling ring is. Very cool guy and usually has most everything SPs. Hulkster and Gooker1 will vouch for him as well. We'll all have to meet up one day and talk shop.

Tealfan: Shoot me an email. I have some open 3" NHL that you can have for cheap and I got an Avs Selanne in my NHL repaint set that I don't want and you can have that as well. Email is in the sig.

Thx for the info on the 3", guys. I see them all the time at my local Targets so I guess I'll have to buy there. Was hoping to get them below retail at Frank & Sons, but oh well. Got my Nolan there for $8, which I thought was a good deal. One thing tho, I haven't seen any Lemieux/Giguere's anywhere. Ducks fans must have grabbed them all.

I use to do the Frank and Sons thing, but I haven't had the time to get out their and the Wed-Sat thing is a tough schedule to make. I use the local Toys R US mostly, I have made nice nice with the crew that work there and I usually get what I am looking for.

I started about three years ago with Simpsons figures and Comic Figures (Marvel Legends/Marvel Select/Kingdome Come) But I have quite the Sportspick collection now.

Anaheim here. I command all OCers to not buy any chase figs at retail, so I can scalp them all, muahahahaha

Actually, I just went on a mini haul with my son at the Fullerton TRU and Fullerton Target and found nothing.

I work in foothill Ranch and have been lucky at that WalMart over the years, There I have found, chase McNabb, chase TO, chase Favre1, lots of BLCs.

I have 2 extra BLC Glaus if anyone needs them. C+S.

I've never found anything at that Fullerton TRU, Target or Gamestop. I've pretty much given up looking there.

It's getting harder to find SP's around here too. I've been seeing alot of Frank & Son's sellers at TRU, KB, Wal-Wart, EB, Gamestop & Targets.

I use to go to frank and sons, but I only go once in a while, some of their prices are over priced. I normally just go there to buy cases, but if I see a good deal on a figure, ill pick it up. I am mainly into football and basketball.

If you guys need anything, let me know and Ill try and help. BTW I got a Jean Sean purple, there is some sticker residue, but goof off can take care of that. I also have a Roy series 6 chase, and a reg series 5. I think im going to hold on to them two. I also ran across a Green Gaborik, and I have an extra white Hasek 2, and i have a maroon Hejduk. Lmk if you need one Teal maybe we can trade.

If you guys are going to F&S this Saturday, im down to go Let me know, maybe we can exchange numbers and do lunch too.

Whats up Bro, Frank N Sons, is a place in the City of Industry. Its a big warehouse that has about 200 diffrent booths. It has everything from hot wheels, comics, Mcfarlane figures, simpsons, cards, and almost any kind of collectible you can think of. There are about 10 booths, that mainly have Mcfarlane Sport Picks and spawn stuff. It even has a wrestling ring inside. they are only open on weds in the evening and on saturdays.

Hi guys, glad to hear from local collectors, I've been trading across the country so far and never realized that there are so many collectors nearby.
Anyway, I just quit my Star Wars collection, so I have time to concentrate on SP. I don't collect to complete, but I collect all sports except NASCAR. Mostly local teams (just need Kariya repaint, RS Glauss and Luc Retro).
I live in SF Valley but I usually go to Santa Monica TRU since I work near there.

WingNut I definitely want the Selanne and the Chelios.

As far as trading, I don't have trade material right now, but when I do, I'll let you guys know.. Lots easier to exchange stuff at F&S than to ship it. Cheaper too!
