so one last question to put things in perspective...how would you know then if a jersey is game worn? thanks!

the only way is to trust the source. identifying marks such as grass stains, helmet paint stains, etc. can help but can be faked. Meigray has a very good authenticity program as they work directly with the teams. but, unfortunately, game wear can be faked and i've seen even the best dealers fooled. the best way to know for sure is to buy directly from the team (which Meigray does). they are good!

Default Ripon Athletic

I should clarify some of the above by saying Ripon Athletic (Berlin, Wi) makes the game issue team issue jerseys for Reebok, Nike or whatever company. They put the Reebok or Nike logos on the outside but Ripon makes the jersey...Reebok, Nike, etc. don't manufacture their own game issue team issue jerseys. They do produce their own "catalog authentic" jerseys at their plants in El Salvador, Korea etc. Some of the "catalog authentics" are made in the states but not many. On occaision I have purchased a "catalog authentic" made in Berlin. I consider that a treasure. Sometimes the NFL.COM'S of the world will have a hot player or teams jersey made up by Ripon in Berlin for quick sale...such as at Super Bowl time. But, it still won't be "pro-cut"...it will be looser cut for the "average" fan!

It looks like a blank catalog authentic made up as a CULPEPPER by a pretty good seamstress...but, there have been alot of NFL fakes made up that look pretty good...the jock label is a little high on this one as compared to some i have seen...but, it does the have the Players Inc. logo which is good on a "catalog authentic"

does Ripon Athletic sell game/team issued jerseys to the public or are they strictly prohibited from doing so?

what does the "made in" label on the inside seam say? if it says "made in berlin, wi" i would say it's close to pro-cut but without the size flag tags and all it could be "catalog authentic"

If the label says "made in el Salvador" or some foreign country you can bet it's "catalog authentic" at best.

I'm not too sure about the Cassell but was told by the owner of the Marbury jersey that it's a size 44 and has the Made in Berlin USA tagging sewn inside the jersey. I was going to bid on the Marbury on Ebay but totally forgot, can't believe it only went for $71... Thanks!

they use to sell some mis-cuts etc. in their factory store but i don't know if they still do. they don't sell by catalog or on line...they leave that to the NFL.com's etc...It is very hard to buy a pro cut "made in berlin" in retail. i think they have a website...i will try to find you the link.

Now that I take a closer look the jock label looks okay. The shoulder cut, raglan instead of set in sleeves is a little different but I have seen it on some Dolphin gamers. I think some NFL stuff came from Korea a couple years ago with this cut. I would ask the seller where it says it was made...If it's China i think it might be fake...some fake stuff has come out of China over the last year. Anything other than China is probably a good "catalog authentic" ... meaning the stuff nfl.com sells. At any rate, I think it's an older jersey made up as a Culpepper.

also, ask to see more pictures...i would want to see pix of the name to make sure it is sewn correctly in current Dolphin style as well as the shoulder numbers...they look a little small...i would want to see more close up pictures.

I wish they made retail authentics of them. Maybe M&N does them sometime. Here is photo of one I found on gamewornjerseys.com....I think these are one of the toughest hockey styles to find....

I have my a steelers game issued, its a nike.. and i dont think it has a made in berlin tag on it..unless someone ripped it off. i dunno. But a those game cuts would be hard for someone to fake.. its tagged just a lil differnet than your normal game issued.. for ex.. look at this pic of it.. notice the year-size tage is down below instead of up by the neck.. why is that?

Default Well, here's tha collection...

Here's my Jordan authentics collection except for two pairs of shorts (one home white, one alternate black w/out pinstripes) and a black pro cut 97-98 jersey w/out pinstripes.

The seven jerseys in the background are all pro-cut, the three folded on top are all authentic size 52.
