I give it a B...it was pretty good overall and the Dragon was awesome in it's scenes. Just some parts didn't make much sense...like why would the Dragon have a human-sized heart in it's neck ?

Was disappointed. It only stayed true to the original for like 12 minutes, it greatly over emphasized the female role in the original and it made Beowulf into a tragic character (which was way off base). Sorry but 13th Warrior was a better adaptation.

I'm glad i wasn't the only who was bothered by that.

Another thing that got me was towards the end was, when Wealthow and Ursula are "stuck" on that bridge and there's obviously NO WAY OUT cause they're just standing there waiting to be bar-b-qued, since the dragon burned down both exists they are "obviously" unable to get away from the disaster. However, when Wealthow is about to fall, Wiglaf is able to catch her! My question, how did he get up there and if he got up there, why couldn't they take the same route to get away from the dragon?

What did Ed Wood say: "... nobody will ever notice that. Filmmaking is not about the tiny details. It's about the big picture."

My other question, if most of the cast was animated to look like their character, why didn't they just make a live action film out of it? Seems like with today's film making capabilities that would've been an easier and cheaper way of doing it (Lord of the Rings Trilogy), and maybe the creators could've made the film a little more interesting. But then again, Neil Gaiman's screenplays are rather long winded and always leave me with the "there's something missing" feeling.

Either way, the film was pretty damn disappointing and I didn't even have my hopes up high for this one, especially with the amount of fuss everyone raised over it and told me before hand how GREAT it was.

Went and saw it again with my brother in 3D it made it a bit better...but it really needs to be seen in an IMAX or something...trad. theaters just don't have a large enough screen to make it work properly. :/
