I saw this movie just a few days ago, and the review pretty much sums up what I thought about it. The CG(?) animals were pretty impressive, but there was no real variety in the daemons. It was all birds, cats, dogs and small rodents that hardly spoke except for the Ice Bear and Pan. And I was always waiting for that little Golden monkey to say something but he never did. I honestly would have liked to see the daemons do more than they did.
Other than the scene were two giant pollar bears try to kill eachother I wasn't entertained by this movie at all. And like the review states it jumps from scene to scene with no real transition, so it's kind of hard to follow and the intense British accents sported by the actors are so annoying! I could barely stand how they spoke, the only reason I didn't get up and walk out was becuase of my little brother. There are lots of things wrong with this movie that made it a waste of $7 My advice is to wait until it comes out on DVD if you really need to see it. I'm sure it's a good thing I've never read the books because I would think even worse of it. Last edited by Exoparadapsyphobia; 12-17-2007 at 10:36 PM. |

The book was really good. The movie was a huge let down compared to the book. I dont know why they did but they didnt even follow the book that closely. I guess the guy that made the movie isnt as big fan of the book as he says he is, or the studio had something to do with it. I still dont understand why in the movie they went to the Ice Bear kingdom before saving the kids. In the book it is the other way around. Also I dont think the Monkey ever talked in the book either. He might have talked into the ear of Ms. Coulter but that was it.
