Every time I saw the commercials for I Am Legend, all I could think of was "Omega Man" remake.

I never knew the history of this story, and that Omega Man was preceded by a film starring Vincent Price, and that all three were based on a novel.

I'll probably still see I Am Legend because I'm a big Omega Man fan.

Haven't seen the movie yet because I'd like to see what people thought. I read the book and it is EASILY in the top 2 of the WORST I've ever read.

I liked the movie much more than the reviewer did. The complaint about the Vermont location (I put that in vague terms to avoid spoilers) is legitimate, but the vast majority of the movie had nothing to do with that. Will Smith was outstanding and I loved his relationship with his dog. Lots of tension and though the CGI was occasionally obvious, great setting/sets.

Worthy interpretation of the Matheson classic, well done In my opinion. A bonus was the lack of F bombs and sex, I actually took my 8 year old daughter with me and she loved the movie.
